  1. Like Monty said... uninstall it! NAV has always caused trouble on a windows machine for me. While at work go the norton web page and print the uninstall directions, go home and get rid of it. I us AVG antivirus on all my machines, MAC and Windows. Its free and has never caused slow downs or problems.

  3. I too have these installed on my '08. They do help in keeping some air flowing. However, I found better relief from the foot pegs getting my feet away from the motor.
  4. Take the vin number to a dealer and see if they can cut a key...
  5. The nylon strap goes through the black plastic piece above the D links. The snap end of the strap goes through the end of the red one.
  6. How much did the registration cost?
  7. Just got home from a long ride. It is a little more than warm to the touch. My laser thermometer says 118 deg F. Outside temp here is 70F. Does this help?

    CB woes

There are also two din connectors under the passenger seat. Is it possible that the PO removed the cb? It is located under the trunk in a plastic enclosure.

Ok, I have my asbestos britches on, so don't hold back... I love my RSV. It is the best scooter I have ever owned. But sometimes I want to run down to the store or some other errand, and I don't want to feel like I need to launch the Queen Mary II. I want to jump on a smaller bike and do what I need to do. I had a '97 vmax that was fine for this purpose but it was after all a vmax and I just could not keep myself from running it pretty hard. No self control I guess. I really like sport touring bikes. The BMW 1200, Honda ST, Yamaha FJR etc., but they too are more bike than I want. I no longer want or need the crotch rocket style bikes either. This is all leading up to your thoughts on the newly USA released Honda NT700V. I love this bike. I had the chance to sit on one today and I think I am sold. It has been very popular across the pond for several years. It is 300lbs + lighter than the RSV. It is a FI 700cc vtwin. I like the ergonomics/sitting position. It is still a little tall for me but I think I could live with it. I don't really see anything from Yamaha that is close to it. What do you all think of it???
  13. Ignition switch???
  14. I don't run windows but here is a useful set of tools including an image re-sizer for windowz XP.
  15. Riding with zero pressure is not a problem. When you do air it up keep in mind it has a small capacity. It will fill in a second or two. Also the front should be done with a precision hand pump only.
  16. Your ticket expires 10-09-2010
  17. Yea high tech is cool... I run a Yeasu FTM10 on the venture but I only run cw at home and in the cage. I'm old school I guess... k1oj ditdit
  18. It's always a good time for a Venture!
  19. I have 30k on the '08. I tend to 'twist the grip' pretty hard. I am also an MS-150 motorcycle marshal so the clutch gets a real work out slow pacing the bicycles. Right now it slips when in 4th or 5th and I'm loaded up or gittin' on it. Yep, ordered one of Earls kits! The stock one would never hold up to the soon to be installed vmax rear end.
  20. Today the Queen Bee (Margaret) decided it was time to try out her new knees on the bike. She had her second knee replacement December 28 and has been recuperating. She has been faithfully following her PT regiment and has progressed nicely. This morning we took off on the scoot for a 'trading days' in Livingston Texas. On the return trip I told her I felt a detour coming on and we took off across 105 all the way to Montgomery Texas and then back to Houston. All told about 200 miles. She faired very well. We stopped about every hour for a stretch. It was so nice to have her riding with me again! I have missed her company. On a side note: Boy do I need to get my clutch upgraded! Here's hoping for a fun 2up riding season!
  21. If that is correct... then you will find the board height would be equal to the amount the bike was lowered. Lets see... a squared + b squared = c squared... or the sum of all angles = 180deg... I should have listened closer to Miss Beatrice in geometry class!!
  22. I did not do a good job with mine. I tried to heat and bend it and ended up with it cracking. I simply continued the bend a little more then had it welded and reinforced. Its not pretty. It still needs a little more lean, but it is better. My thought was that bending would provide a wider stance versus cutting. If you find a cleaner answer, please share it.
  23. I always tell the passenger to simply look over my sholder in the direction of turn. That way, if I lean more or less they stay in the same plane with me. I do notice less lean needed when loaded 'heavy'.
  24. The sun shield is a bit light. I would prefer it darker. I still wear sun glasses most of the time but it does provide some shading.
  25. Good on you and Lonna! Bless you both!
