  1. Those look like a good choice. I wear a version from Frank Thomas, but they have less mesh and are often just too warm here in Texas. I have also thought my replacements should be grey instead of black.
  2. Thanks Don!
  3. Good point! Where is you new house? Address?? Something??? Or did I miss it? :confused07::confused07:
  4. Well I can attest to the fact that if Boomer is there, there will be no shortage of BS!

  6. Let me throw in my two cents worth... The voltage rating has nothing to do with the current level that will open the fuse. The voltage rating is the max voltage that will not arc across the open element of the fuse after it is blown. That's my 'plane speak' explanation. In other words, an open 32v fuse could possible arc across the open element if the voltage of the circuit is higher, such as 125v or 250v. Here is the technical explanation: VOLTAGE RATING: The voltage rating, as marked on a fuse indicates the fuse can be relied upon to safely interrupt its rated short circuit current. in a circuit where the voltage is equal to, or less than its rated voltage. This system of voltage rating is covered by N.E.C. regulations and is a requirement of Underwriters Laboratories as a protection against fire risk. The standard voltage ratings used by fuse manufacturers for most small dimension and midget fuses are 32, 125, 250 and 600. Short circuit interrupting capacities may vary with fuse design and range from 35 amperes AC for some 250V metric size (5 X 20mm) fuses up to 200,000 amperes AC for the 600V KLK-R series. information on other fuse series can be obtained from the factory. In electronic equipment with relatively low output power supplies and circuit impedance limiting short circuit currents to values of less than ten times the current rating of the fuse. It is common practice to specify fuses with 125 or 250 volt ratings for secondary circuit protection of 500 volts or higher.. As mentioned previously (See DERATING) fuses are sensitive to changes in current, not voltage maintaining their "states-quo" at any voltage from zero to maximum rating. It is not until the fuse wire reaches melting temperature and arcing occurs that the circuit volt age and available power influence the fuse performance and determine the safe interruption of the circuit. To summarize a fuse may be used at any voltage less than its voltage rating without detriment to its fusing characteristics, but may also be used at voltages higher than its certified voltage rating if the maximum power level available at the fuse under a "dead short" condition can only produce a low energy level non-destructive arc, fuses listed in accordance with UL Standard 198G are required to have an interrupting rating of 10,000 amperes with some exceptions (See STANDARDS SECTION) , which in many applications provides a safety factor far in excess of the short circuit currents available. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
  7. Worked fine. Mac OSX via iTunes.
  8. This o'way.... http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0297.jpg
  9. On the zumo 550 yes, you use the headset to hold the phone conversation. That is the default configuration. I don't know about your "c550" ... sorry.
  10. The GPS is controller. The phone connects to it. The headset connects to it. The GPS handles the audio selection. That being said, if you pick up your phone and dial a number you can select the audio source from the phone ie: phone, gps, speaker. If you answer the phone call directly from the phone you simply select 'phone' as your audio source. This is done on the phone when you answer. You can also initiate a phone call from the gps. It will display your phone book, recent calls, favorites or a dialing keypad.
  11. You can do just that... everything to the headset or just the phone...

    When I die...

I wonder if that is how he died.
  13. This is an unusual way to be presented at your final viewing... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbpy0DWp1Co&feature=player_embedded]click[/ame]
  14. I use a zumo 550, bluetooth cell phone (iphone) and cardo scala Q2 headset. Plug the 550 audio output into the aux input on the venture. Now you can hear you driving instructions and mp3 music via the speakers. Pair the headset and phone to the 550. Now you have cell phone connection for calls. The 550 allows setting the music/directions to the speakers or headset separately from the phone audio. You can also adjust the music audio level separately. The down side is you do not have a mic connection to the CB. Does this help?
  15. Margaret and I will be there for a bit!
  16. I have put 30,000 miles plus on avons, (two fronts, three rears). They have been great tires for someone who runs pretty hard and the rain traction is really good. However last week I decided to try the E3's. I have about 200 miles on them and so far I like them fine. I have not run them in the rain yet but as you point out the tread pattern is very similar to the venoms. We will see...

  18. I have run 2 sets of Avon Venoms on my bike. I had no problems with cracking sidewalls. They are a great tire. Rain traction was great. I just put on a set of Dunlop E3s. My first impression was that they felt a little less planted at highway speeds with strong winds from trucks. It only took a little to get used to them. I have not noticed any additional noise from cornering as some have mentioned, maybe when they wear a little, we will see. Most important on what ever you choose, keep the pressure up. A couple pounds low will cause wear and handling problems.
  19. its.. its... GREEN !!!
  20. Yep, I use that one... bought it used off ebay. It has worked well for me.
  21. So the 2010 Houston/Austin BP MS150 is now in the history books. It was a great success. 13,000 bicycle riders covered the 158 miles over two days. Here are some photos of the motorcycles used by the marshals in support of the ride participants. My travels covered 631 miles over the weekend, much of it slow speed around 20 - 40 mph. PHOTOS. :biker:
  22. This is a G rated site you know!!!
  23. I will second the happy owner of a new I basket! Had mine installed last week and it decreased the noise by 50% and moved it to the 45mph area instead of 65-75mph. Works for me!!
  24. I ain't no expert but... I would really suspect an exhaust leak somewhere...
