  1. Can you be more specific about which kick stand you actually used? Do you have a part number or something? I'm sure I could end up ordering the wrong thing... Thanks!
  2. Owen

    7 less MIAs !

The link is to the Houston Chronicle website. I did not get a warning from AVG here...

  9. Well, personally, I tend to get a little uneasy around any MAN named 'CupCake'... I'm just sayin'...
  10. That looks a little too deep for my 'low-rider'...
  11. Like I said... Shock vent...
  12. Yep looks like the battery vent line.
  13. Sunday I ran 18 miles after the F miles showed up before it ran out of gas and I had to switch to reserve. I have vent holes in the filler neck and I put in 5.2 gallons. I suspect the idiot light and the F miles gauge vary greatly from bike to bike...
  14. I really admire the way Kreg never misses an opportunity!

  19. Thanks James, I will have the grill going for what ever is brought in... and thanks for the room offer!
  20. Thanks Dave, I have a good compressor in my garage. Guess I should fire it up since I haven't used it this year yet...
  21. What: Houston area, SE texas Maintenance Day When: August 21, 2010 - 0700 until ?? Where: My humble abode in NW Houston. (Address published later) Why: The date selected is only 2 weeks before the Pork-In-The-Pines ho-down in Minnesota. I for one will be making the 1400 mile trek up to meet and visit with our northern friends and want to make sure my bike is prepped. Anyone else planning to attend that event can use this MD to get ready. The more eyes on your bike, the better. Food: Main course - brisket prepared by one of the finest BBQ chefs in the area. Accommodations: There are several hotels/motels very close by and I will post more info on them later. Sorry, I have no camping room available. Perhaps one of the local members will offer up something. I have plenty of tools for use however I do not have a tire changer. I'm sure there will be tires to change so maybe someone will lug one along. This run for the northern boarder will also be the first leg of an extended, 2 week, solo trip for me. From Minnesota I will head to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and then down the Tail of the Dragon on my way back to Houston. I should be on the road for about 2 weeks and cover a bit over 4000 miles. So that's pretty much the plan at this point. I know it will be a fine Texas day with heat and humidity as usual. There will be plenty of iced beverages, shade and maybe even some ice cream to help keep you cool. And yes, the house AC will be on for your pleasure! Ya'll come on by...
  22. That's a great looking Solo bike!
  23. Ok... I had a chance to check things out and it looks like HF propagation is starting to pick up. I had turned off my HF rigs a couple years ago due to poor propagation. We had been in the doldrums of an 'end of cycle 23' solar activity for what seemed to be an especially long cycle minimum of about 2-3 years. Normally the solar activity runs an 11yr cycle but there has been an unusually long period with little to no activity. The last month or two has shown some activity and we are clearly in the cycle 24 upswing. Here is the latest activity chart. http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/201006_01_background_xray_flux-lrg.jpg What does all that mean to our CB radios? It means get ready for several years of the 'noise' you described. There will be so many stations heard on the radio that it will be almost un-usable at times. There is nothing wrong with your radio, it is working fine. The other bikes that where not hearing the signals obviously are not receiving very well. That is bad for the CB radios, but very good for us that are Ham radio ops. This will continue to increase for about 6 to 8 years and then start to drop off. For a little more in depth look at propagation, click here.
  24. Were you on channel 19? Many of the truckers are running a lot more than the legal limit. Move up the band to the venture channel (29) or higher. If you are not on channel 19, then you have a passband filter problem with your receiver. No fix for it but replace the unit. Update, see my later post.
