Water proof means a lot to me. Zumo 550 has served me well for 45k miles and lots of rain.

bkuhr Just a couple thoughts... I did not look closely at the LED specs but... 1. Using series leds in each chevron will cause the complete chevron to blank if one led fails. 2. Using 12v leds, not in series, would allow you to use one zener diode say of 9v range to dim leds as running lights. Simply switch it out of the power line and switch in the sequenced drive power for sequencing. 3. Using pulse width modulation for dimming the leds could cause interference with the audio/radio system or ignition noise could affect the pulse width. 4. The timer/driver design is solid and should perform nicely. 5. Auto turn signal cancellation could be accomplished with a second 555 timer. Just some random thoughts to consider.

Gunboat and I left about 10:30 am. We ran together as far as Hondo were they stopped for the night. Margaret and I pushed on for home. Hit rain in Flatonia and ran the last 100 miles in a cold moderate rain. Got home about 11:30 pm. Safe and sound. Once again, Vinnie the Low Rider, performed like a champ.

http://tapa.tk/mu/6392ff3a-aef8-08af.jpg Photos upload nicely. Adding more file types would be good. The photos are not served from photo-bucket. I wonder how long they will stay active and how the poster can manage them. iPhone * Tapatalk

The reflector on the crash bar is removed when the bag rails are added. Most folks move the reflector to the bag rail. It requires a little shimming because the bag rail is a smaller diameter than the crash bar. I believe a red reflector is required by most states...

I would have a look at the fuel filter first...

Tripod!?!? I had a three legged dog once that we called Tipsy, Tripod would have been better!

I have had several 'handles' over the years; crazy horse, OJ, k1oj, OB1, rat fink, etc. Here I decided that I would just use my name because at some point I would do something 'noteworthy' I.E. stupid, and would get tagged with something... So far I've managed to keep my head down!

I never noticed the 'screen name' thing. I just thought everyone was using their real names...

Just to clarify... while listening to music through your speakers, press select once. SP should be displayed, press up once and HS should be displayed. Thats all there is to it. Head set does not need to be connected. I know of no other settings that will affect this selection.

It's a clearvue that I chopped down. It is 12.5 inches from chrome to top... In my normal 'slouch' I am still looking through it about 2 inches down. If I sit up properly I'm looking just over the top. This makes it much safer in the hard rain.

That Vision is a long bike! He handled it well. The lady with her feet up in the air had the most dramatic crash. Mine were pretty tame in comparison. I'm not bashful. Here is one of mine... http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/5108293519_d0aa030d7f_b.jpg http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/5108294005_2924c6460c_b.jpg

Update: Met Dave77459 for an early breakfast then followed him to the class location. Dave was kind enough to lend me his set of crash bar guards. They are made for a Harley but fit well enough to stay in place and do their job. They got a pretty good work out... I stopped counting after about 4-5 drops. I would also like to give a thumbs up to Carbon One for his crash guard supports. They stood up to the abuse nicely and after having a close look at the crash guards when I got home, they had not moved at all. There was zero damage to the bike from my numerous slow speed drops which consisted of nothing more than laying the bike over onto the crash bars. I did remove my lower vents and highway pegs before going to the class. The only bike that received some moderate scrapes was one of the harleys which laid completely over. Dave stuck around for moral support, or so he said, I think it had more to do with his photography skills, possible for nefarious purposes ... I'm sure we will see the results of his efforts! There were 7 bikes/riders in the class. Three harleys, two victorys, a yamaha and a suzuki. Four guys and 3 gals. Two from San Antonio, One from Austin and the rest were locals. The class covered the same three basics as the DVD, however, watching the video and practicing on your own comes up short compared to having someone watching you who can critique and point out what you are doing wrong. One of the instructors took my venture for a spin. He had never ridden one. He like it and how it felt except for the location of the clutch lever friction zone which he felt was too far out. He suggested that it might be a little bit of my problem. But he sure made it look easy on the venture and thereby showed me the bike was fine... ok must be me... The course heated up the bikes pretty good. Temps were only in the upper 70's but I noted the cooling fan come on several times. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it. Let's have a quick breakfast. 7am? Where is this diner?

Leveling links or lowering the front will increase responsiveness. I'm not surprised you notice the wind a little more. Same with a narrower front tire. Many think it feels a bit 'light' at highway speeds and eventually change back to the stock tire size. Give the links some time, you will like it!

I think a category for 'Member Vendors' or some such thing would make it easier to find their ads.
