Garage door opener mounted
FuzzyRSTD replied to SteveP's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Wow, such great ideas. Thanks you all. I was just wondering this evening coming in from Church, as to what could be done for that agreavating garage door opener. Thanks again. -
Rick did my sit also and I went from (55 mph) 50 miles and pain, to (55 mph) 100 miles and not so much pain. I am a 285 lb man and the seat really helped me.

I thought it was going to make fun of the biker at first or give us a bad name sorta speak, but then it became very funny and he got what was due him.

Sorry to hear of your job loss Brad. I don't know you personally, but feel I do know you somewhat from your post here. I can tell you that God will provide, just hang in there. If I can be of any help at all, at any time, just let me know. Hope you all the happiness that life can give. You have the right attitude. James

AIS to the Rescue (AGAIN)
FuzzyRSTD replied to V7Goose's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Glad you figured it out Goose. So you had a (bad) new plug.. Mmmm, I put a new set in a 90 Horse Mercury outboard one time, wich was a in line six cylinder. The plugs where what was reccomended from factory and what was in the motor to start with(NGK). I was doing a service and thought this would also be good to replace plugs also. The motor never ran right after that. Well to make a longer story short, I ended up taking it to a dealer and the problem was that one of the new plugs was boken inside the class of the plug. You could actually pull the tip and the long inside steel shank right out of the plug. The motor would run ok idling and then go down the lake and misfire. You could see the burnt markings on the piece of shank. I probably still have that plug. I had a mind to send it to NGK and tell them they owed me $100.00 for all my trouble and the expense. But I never did. Glad you got her fixed Goose, I new when I started reading that you would figure it out. James -
I had a 1994 Honda Magna 750 V- 4 . Yes, a good bike. Sold it to my brother, 32,000 miles on it. It was one of the reasons I wanted a V - 4 engine when I bought my 2007 Yammy Tour Deluxe. Man this bike has so much more power and the comfort of the ride is great. Love my Yamaha..

I got an E-mail about those, pretty nifty. Butttttttt Wowwwwww around $100.00. But worth it if it saves a life. I would rather have it mounted to something high on the bike too, mabey passenger backrest or no probably get covered by luggage. Well back of helmet probably best.

K&N Filters
FuzzyRSTD replied to foundryratjim's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I put the K&N filters in my bike (6,200 miles now). Roadhouse exhaust and did the AIS plug. No jetting needed, but did carb sync after all that ( out just a bit ). I think the filters are worth the $ 80.00 myself, shucks you never hafta worry about them again. I put them (K&N) in a 1994 Honda 750 Magna I once owned, (32,000 miles) no problems, just ride. -
Such a great job you have done here. This site is so helpful to me. I have figured out all that I have needed to know about my 2007 RSTD, thanks to all the great people on this site. I want to highly recommend it to everyone. I don't even have a parts manual, but it is on this site. I also would like to take this oppertunity to thank everyone that shows thier respect and watches thier language use here. I for one do really appreciate the folks here and the comrodity. Sincerily, James

To me, I think of the BRP as my "Magic Carpet Ride". RandyA Exactly all that Randy said and more. I love those mountains. I just got back from a ride on Memorial weekend to the BRP. My brother and a good friend. We all really had a great time. This was about the third time that I had rode there. You can check out my pictures on this site. Have a safe ride and please take your time. The most of the BRP is 45 mile an hour, and it is strongly enforced. James

Bubba, you like the BFG I guess. How many miles did you get out of the first set, and where they BFG ? I only got a few thousand miles out of mine and then went with the Avon Venoms. I am very pleased with them. Sorry to hear about the shipping problems. Some people are just really gifted. I am part Indian, and an old proverb says that Indians always looked over and did not kill the crazy ones. They thought that the crazy ones where somewhat gifted from god in a special way and just looked over the crazy ones. So I am part Indian for sure, for I have looked over people like that, even though I wanted to kill them. James (Cherokee)

Good to hear all is well and healing John. I am like some others, I have not met you, but still wish the very best for you. What ever you do, please don't let that cabin fever over take you. I did when had knee surgery and payed a plenty for it. Just listen to the docs and your wife (if you have one) and it all be alright. Ya, I said listen to your wife, and no I am not hen pecked, just have hen house ways. James

For me, exactley what Ruffy said. I tried several times with the wire and no luck, but I had a wire with just a bend in one end.- 16 replies

Avon Venom tire wear questions?
FuzzyRSTD replied to jarrejx's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
This looks like normal wear to me and my riding and changing tires for the past 30 yrs. The front tire has probably worn out two rear tires as almost all motorcycle tires do. Tire pressure is the most important and must be maintained regulary. I am saying that the other guy may not have checked pressure very often.I love my Avons. I have put 1,600 miles on the first set I have ever owned and can tell you that they are the best ever owned for handling. And a lot of people are getting 14,000 mile out of them(rear tire).I ran Dunlops for many yrs. The Bridgestones that come on these bikes are not that great and most people change them pretty quick. I changed from Bridgestone on about 4,000 mile(new bike). -
Please be very carefull with these critters. They can be very very aggressive and thier teeth can really put a hurtin to ya.They become more aggressive as they age. They are also known to carry rabies. So if you see one acting suspicious, please keep clear.
