  1. Ya Big Tom, like you said yummmmm. I would like to try some gator too. Maybe some of these good folks could bring some frozen gator and we could try it on the grill. They say it taste like fried chicken, and I love fried chicken...... Fuzzy ; (my nickname since I was a young feller, derived from my last name, Fultz - it was first Fultzy then turned into Fuzzy.)
  2. Thanks, Thats is kinda my problem. The book says 16000 mile repack bearings. But can't really find anything here except some bikes with around 85,000 or so that did a repack and a mod to put in grease fittings. I just came from garage to get some slick 50 that is made for guns to spray the shock attachment moving points and the swing arm moving points. I think I have some Remington with polly in it too. Will maybe use it also to lube the pivit points of shock and swing arm. I first srayed with WD-40 to claen. BACK TO THE GARAGE I GO.....
  3. Yep, you need to grease rear gears and splines. My bike did the same while on a 1200 mile ride somewhere around North Carolina. Lucky there was a dealer that took my bike straight in and I got to watch him do it. Really not a biggy. Just finished mine a few minutes ago. I have done mine three times so far, 12000 miles. I only did that many times because I replaced the Brickstone junk tires (4000 miles and rear gone, front not good either) in between that time frame. Replaced with Avon Venom tires, highly recommend them too (8000 miles and still look great) ride like a dream. So while had rear wheel off, did the grease. You need some Honda Molly 30 lube to do it correctly.
  4. Should I even worry about this for now, or just squirt some kinda spray lube on these spots (Swing Arm) ? I have 12,300 mile on my bike. I have removed the rear wheel and I am going to grease the main gears on the shaft and wheel and the fingers in the wheel (third time doing this, but finally with the Honda Molly 30 this time. Hard time finding it here). Are there supposed to be factory grease fittings on my 07 Tour Deluxe at the swing arm ? Anything else I should do while the rear wheel is off and bike is up ? I will clean and wax the hidden areas also while everything is off. Going back to garage to start cleaning the wheel and begin to grease. I am also changing oil and rear diff grease again. I have changed the rear diff grease twice already in the last 12,000 miles and three yrs and the oil & filter every 4000 miles. Be back in a little bit to see what you all think...... Update; did not see any grease fittings there in the swing arm. So maybe next yr at Freebirds Maintenance Day ??? Mmmmmmmm . Maybe just maybe the grease fitting mod would be doable. Now that would be great. Back to the garage.. *update 8:12 pm - had some company to come, got the diff oil changed and now draining the engine oil. Surprised no one has any info. The rear splines are all cleaned and greased with the Honda molly. Be back later, off to the garage again. Man I love that Bike lift. I got a steal of a buy on a new Harbor Frieght, one of the big red jacks that jack up the whole bike, sweeeeeet. Using along with the stand that I purchased from some one here a while back. Thanks in advance...... Fuzzy
  5. Glad to hear that you found out who they where. So sad to hear this kinda news. Our prayers for the family. This also brings to mind about the importance of knowing what the weather can do to the roadways. I work for the Ky State Hwy Dept. and see this kinda stuff a lot. Please always be aware of the road conditions. I sat my daughter down several times when she began to drive and warned her many times of different road conditions, for all the seasons. Please be careful and if you don't understand the road conditions, then ask someone who has ridden or driven a lot. It may safe your life, or some one else.
  6. Wow, now that is pricey. Sorry, this old country boy could not handle that. Hope you have a wonderful time and very good weather for all. Hats off to our Veterans and their family.
  7. Ya, I am serious about trying to be there as well, the MD at Don's place. That is if wifey and dear friend in Mansfield, Oh is doing ok.
  8. Thats is exactly what I would do. I have a ride partially planed for the Memorial week end, or else I would try to be there (Don's Maintenance Day / a day when several get together, some mechanics by trade and so on, and work on our/your bikes. They have all the tools and know how to use them ). If money and time are good with me, I am going to try anyway. These fellers here are top notch in my book, they have helped me so much with my bike. And no charge for the service. I have never met any of them personally, but feel as if I have.
  9. Yes, good idea RoyalG .. Excellent idea.. great idea. Like that ...did I say that was a good idea?
  10. Thank you Sir, so glad that you made mention and request for this honor. This is truly a respectful and very important issue to understand (handling of the flags of our countries). God Bless Them All ....
  11. Yes your right Hummingbird. I called Sunday about a room with two beds, yes available, but $169.00 a night. They are robbing people with those kind of price hikes. So yes, maybe going to wait until next year and make plans early. We now are considering going across Ky west to maybe the Mammoth Caves Park area and maybe a short tour there through a cave. Do not know what to expect in western Ky area. Only been there once, a long time ago. I remember some of the wetlands area and cotton was in bloom, the fields looked like snow.
  12. How about this; No crown - make bike red, some white, some black - words black - put the Yamaha emblem (or Yamaha) in front of Tour Deluxe ( Yamaha, emblem, Tour Deluxe ) ..... just my thoughts. I like the idea of spelling it out and not the abbreviation (RSTD). No one knows what that means unless you have one. Thanks for your time doing this. James

  14. Well I guess not to many here going. I was hoping that I could get to follow someone else for a change. It is not always easy to lead the way. Maybe we will change directions and go west.
  15. Count me in .........did it happen ??
  16. My friend and I are planning on possibly riding to the Veterans Memorial Wall (Arlington,Va.), and I have never been. Just wondering if anyone else has made these plans here in our general neighboring states or in our area. We would be leaving here, Olive Hill, Ky. on Friday, May 27 at 2:00 pm to ride to Arlington,Va. From here it is about 7 hrs none stop. We would like to take our time and be there for the Sunday morning trip to the wall, then start back for home that evening. Must be back home on Monday, May 30 th by 12:00 noon. Would love to meet up with some of you folks if you have made plans to go. I told my friend JD, that I would check to see if any of you all are going/or making plans before we make any final decisions. I have looked at RFTW site and information. But I think we are a little to late to get any of the discounts and so on. I feel like we would maybe be intruding on a good thing by not making plans in advance. We decided that we would become members next year and try and meet up with them. Their deadline for hotels and so forth was in April. This would be a nice annual event if someone would like to take on the responsibility of such a plan. Or maybe someone has. I did a search and came up with nothing. I think it is really good to honor those/and their family, who have paid such a great debt for our freedom. James Darrell Fultz 437 Reeves Branch Olive Hill, Ky. 41164 (606) 356-7797
  17. Great video Pete. I watched almost all of it. That has always been something that I would absolutely love to do. I love those giant Redwood trees. Thank you for sharing. Would like to have seen some close ups of those wonderful trees.
  18. Thank you for your time. Proud to be an American Hillbilly. Prayers for you and yours. Glad you ride. With Regards, James Darrell Fultz - Olive Hill, Ky
  19. Love my Roadhouse, good price, not to loud, weather good (two yrs no rust).
  20. I did the Rick Butt Butler mod to my seat. Oh the joy of difference it makes. He will get/need some information from you (hight/weight/inseam) and you can tell him what you are looking for. He will do you a fine job. I went from 50 miles and aching/can't hardly walk, to 100 miles of stretching and taking a break. Shipping was around $60.00 for me here in Ky to him in Tx. Highly recommend this mod. James
  21. Well shoooot, thanks Freebird. That makes perfect since. Now you know why I must always have this site to work on my bike. I will check the manual for when to change clutch fluid. So did the mechanic have to drain the clutch when he did the clutch basket ? James
  22. This may sound stupid to some of you,"What do you mean when you say flush?" I have a 2007 Tour Deluxe and so far I have around 14,000 miles on her. I have changed the oil and filter several times and the diff oil twice, did the spline clean and new grease. I changed the tires at around 6,000 miles, the rear was pretty bad ( I did run it somewhat low of air for around 200 miles) but the front was decent. The factory Bridge-stones just did not last. I replaced with the Avon Venoms front/rear. I love these tires. The bike rode like a different beast, in a very good way. I also put in the K&N air filters. Just wondering if maybe I need to flush and or add new oil/grease to my clutch/ ? miles or what ever ? The clutch basket was replaced at around 12,000 miles for the better less noisy clutch basket. Did the mechanic have to drain and put in new clutch oil ? . Thanks in advance. But I just do not understand what flushing means, unless you mean draining. Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I have heard this before and did not ask. I also do not mean to rob your thread, but sounds like your question was answered. James
  23. :rotfl::rotfl:
  24. Good for you. Hope everything works out great with the new bike. You are making me think about buying a Venture too. I have a Tour Deluxe, and love it. Bought it new. But I still sometimes wish I had a Venture, especially when my wife rides with me. They have the extra comforts for the better half. If I could just get her to believe that a man needs two bikes ..... :mo money::cool10:
  25. Looks like a dandy for 40 bucks Condor. Thanks ... mmmm wonder if it has a speaker jack to hook up my speakers on the Yammy ???? I will have to look into that. I have a Garmin 750 (Wallmart internet site $150.00). It has mp3 player and does a good job so far. I use it all the time on my bike. Even the mounting suction cup that I got with it works well on the chrome top part of speedometer. So much better than the clips and paper and written down directions. Just punch it in and go somewhere. Good directions 90% of the time.
