  1. This is the gell pad we are talking about. The picture is not really like what you get. It is flat and about 3/4 inch thick and heavy, with a zip off cover. Here is the link: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Obusforme-The-Gel-Seat/12546999 The name of the product is Obusforme The Gell Seat... Fuzzy
  2. Well hope you make it anyways. Sounds like you got your hands full. Sometimes when it rains, it pours. I know, because I have been there too. Hope to see you at Freebirds. Have a safe trip. Fuzzy
  3. Hey, got it and all I have done so far is to lay it on the seat. Really good fit. Rubber back to make it kinda stick there. * Do you fellers have yours attached in some way to the seat ?* I was a little disappointed though at first. It really does not have a solid gell insert, but is very heavy and made from gell I'm sure. Square hollow cells of gell. Looks like it will work fine. I am trying to find some sheepskin material to make a cover out of. So far nothing. The cover on this will zip right off .... Fuzzy
  4. A gell seat cushion made for autos at Wall-mart for $19.96. Yes gell seat covers are sold for $100.00 or more with the sheep skin cover just for bikes. If I could find just a sheep skin cover now to go over the geel pad, I would be in high cotton..... I hear that it works fine for our bikes from another rider here about two days ago. I found one at the local store here and I am going to go pick it up. The first store was sold out and the next store only had one, so they put it back for me. Evidently they are popular. I am driving the car to get because wifey wants to go to dress store and drive car. So I will give update later on the true effects of the pad. Right at this moment I am in somewhat of pain from a ride the last two days, about 725 mile total. Not to bad but need a little extra something in the seat. I did the Rick Butler seat mod and it is nice, but still need a little something else, and I am not getting any younger. If this works out, this will be a good seat cover for a whole lot less money. More money for gas to ride.... :mo money: Fuzzy
  5. Go to Honda shop first, get a small tube of Honda Molly 30 grease. I would remove the rear wheel and grease everything, gears/fingers in the wheel and rubber and also the drive shaft splines. I would also change rear wheel diff grease/oil. I would also do the sync right after the grease job.You can find all of this info in the teach library, step by step with pictures. I did all and if I can do it, anyone can. Remember the clip ring in the finger piece. Do not forget to put it back in like someone here did. No not me.....The drive shaft can sometimes be a problem getting back into yoke at motor end. But you learn this by how it feels. Make sure your bike is left in gear before this procedure. The first time took me a few times, and the last time about a week ago, it went the very first try. These fine people here will help you all the way through.:cool10: Fuzzy
  6. Never used it here, but wanted to recommend ReJex wax. I found it here on the site a couple yrs ago and it is the best wax on the planet, bar none. Wax it on and wipe it off, let it cure for 12 hours before exposure and good for all yr. Great stuff, get it on the webb or at your local True Value Hardware store. They ordered it for me. A small bottle will cost you around 15 dollars, it will go a long way. I have used this for the last three yrs and will never use nothing else. I have tried just about all of them and done a lot of research. ReJex wax/ and McQuires touch up in between and too get the bugs off windshield. ReJex will last through many many washes. It is used on airplanes and is made to last. I still have a half a bottle. A 25 dollar electric leaf blower from Wally world after washing, will save you all that wipe off and water spots. Fuzzy
  7. AVON VENOM for me, all the way home.
  8. Thank you very much. You where reading my mind. I was thinking, well would be nice to pick up bolt at local hardware, but how to figure size ??? This is great and should be in tech stuff for 1st and 2nd gen bikes. Very good information. Thanks to all. Fuzzy
  9. My friend JD experienced this last yr on one of our rides. I just e-mailed him the link. He almost lost it (2004 RK) into the guardrail on the opposite side of the road. Really shook him up. We stopped for a while and he finally got calmed down. Never saw him so scared of riding. I kinda got after him for maybe going to fast. But after reading and watching this, I believe it was the bike. The curve he was in was exactly like the video. Long and sweeping curve. Wowwwww... scary....Thanks for the thread........... Fuzzy
  10. Well after giving this a little more thought. I could probably just go by the schematics and get bolt part number and call and order one with credit card and have it shipped to me. Not a local dealer close. There is a new Yamaha shop going up over on hwy 801 in Rowan county. But it wont open for a while I suppose. Be glad when it opens for business, love to look around. Fuzzy
  11. Yaaaa, that entered my little mind too. Got have that too. Do I need to bring my own, well never mind on that one. I would suppose that 300 or so people would go through a lot of toilet paper in 2-3 days. I would also bet that those Porta - Pottys/Johny On The Spot Toilets are not cheap either. Fuzzy
  12. Thats funny Monty. No thanks from me. My yard is growing so fast that I can not hardly keep up as is.
  13. I was wondering when you would pick up on this Freebird. We,re just picking on you. Never been and hope the weather is great. Fuzzy
  14. I changed the antifreeze in my bike. I noticed the bolt in the center of of the painted black piece in between the side covers was missing. It is bolt number 14 on pages SIDE COVER - D11 & D12 of the schematics in the Tech library. If anyone has one lying around I would appreciate your help. I suppose the bolt has been missing since new, or mechanic may have left this bolt out when they changed the clutch basket or new head casket. The bolt really has no affect other than it would stiffen the center mount up some for the side covers. I am funny about stuff like this, the bolt should be there even so. Thanks, Fuzzy ........
  15. Thanks Monty, I really never knew this, I feel so stupid. I must check this out further. This would have to be so much better. Thank you. Fuzzy
  16. No never noticed. I did have it up on the lift and could not have saw it come on at initial warm up. I was watching the overflow to see what happened there. My bike has never had temp light on, I changed because the book says change every two yrs. But actually I let it go four yrs and the old antifreeze did still look good. I will not change again until 5 - 6 yrs or 40,000 on the bike.
  17. Glad that all worked out for the best. If you really want to hear a sad phone story, then go to the thread started today about another phone loss,"Done the eck thing with my phone". It is on the Home page for now. Fuzzy
  18. I've got one of those industrial grade phones that you are supposed to be able to abuse it just about anyway you want and it still works, I have dropped it on concrete several times, it has been wet a few times. But I have never tried running it over while mowing the yard. I just do not think that would work with any phone. I dare you to send it back in a sandwich bag for repair and see what happens. They might get a laugh out of it and send you a new one. Sorry about what happened. These folks have come up with some really funny stuff. Rice, mower reception, breaking up, mobile phone. :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf: Fuzzy
  19. Nighthawk, I hope your better and get to go to Freebirds. Did they give you some medication for this and will it affect you when riding ? I believe I would ask Doc about that and take his opinion to heart. Be careful what ever you do. It is bad enough to have to dodge the maniacs in the four wheelers and keep it straight. Fuzzy
  20. Good idea Goose. How far from the garage to Freebirds fridge ? I am sure the tools will be in the garage. So we could entertain ourself, like maybe practice removing the heads from Freebird's bike or something. Like you say, he don't have to worry about getting home anyways. He probably did screw up on the weather request.
  21. I changed my own tires (Avon Venom) and then took to a Harley mechanic with a digital balancer. He charged a very little to balance both wheels and they only had a couple small weights on them. Run perfect, after a small break in ride to town, I had her up to 110 mph on the interstate with no other traffic, and smooth as silk. Love those Avons. Like riding a different bike. The Avons really handle well in the rain/water puddles also. I have 8,300 miles on them and they are still in pretty good shape. My friend JD changed his tires at the same time on his Harley RK. He put on Dunlap Tires and we checked them Saturday. His is showing more wear with fewer miles. He is not an aggressive rider either. Fuzzy
  22. Happy Birthday Snowflake. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to youuuuuuu. Happy birthday, may God bless youu. Happy birthday to youuuuuuu. Fuzzy
  23. Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers. Pray that God will give us traveling grace and watch over us. We will be leaving out Thursday morning very early to arrive to visit for a while and for the 1:00 pm funeral. Then returning for home right afterwards. We are still planning on riding the Central Kentucky Memorial Ride with Dennis in Lexington,Ky. Fuzzy

    Tornado

Wow, what devastation. Our prayers for these poor people and their love ones. NBC news special on now, 116 confirmed dead so far. Winds 190-198 mile an hour. Several small tornadoes where spun off from the side of this monster wedge tornado. Hope we did not loose anyone from here. Fuzzy
