13 - Not telling my age of 47. Thanks for the thread. Yes the kids need to know and understand this. What about the little square things with the fishing line wrapped around it and a red - white bobber and a gold hook. I would walk for a mile to buy one of these at a little mercantile and go fishing in the creek. So much better than the string from a midland sack and a bobby pen for a hook. I remember one of my home made stringers braking and all my fish getting away, a full stringer too. I can still see them fish swimming away. How about a tobacco stick with a bailing twine tied around one end to make a stick horse to ride all day. How about the Sears & Roebuck catalog used in the outhouse. Then when we got regular toilet paper an old coffee can to keep it in so that the mice would not make a nest out of it. How about gathering eggs and ringing the head off a chicken to pluck for supper. How about the aluminum dipper in the water bucket. On cold winter nights it would freeze the top of the water in the bucket inside the house. You had to wiggle the dipper to brake the ice, but Haaaaa that good tasting well water from deep with in the bottom so cold and clear and sweet. How about that old metal fan that you just had to see what happen when you stuck a stick in the fan fins while running, and talked into it to change your voice. Fuzzy

Hope you have a safe ride Brenda. The small plane was kinda scary for me the first time flying. I had to take a small aircraft from Lexington to Louisville, then from there a nice giant jet to Roy Rogers airport in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The small aircraft would fly into some turbulence and it feels as if the seat is gone. Took some getting used to. I flew for 3 weeks back and forth every weekend. Odd thing to me, in Oklahoma they call a pond, a tank. Congratulations on your new ride..... Does your husband ride any ?

Glad you are going with Venture and welcome to the site. Have them throw that system in with the deal. Also see if you can get a few free oil changes and filter. Do it yourself though. Make sure there is not any factory recalls and if so, have they been taken care of ? My bike had a recall on the factory head bolt torque. The dealer did not tell me or act like they new, around 1,200 mile later I had a oil leak and it was fixed by another dealer with a mechanic I knew and trusted. He had to replace the head casket because of the failure to torque the bolts properly before they left the first dealer. He told me about the recall and fix that should have been done at the sale. This is the most comfortable bike I have ever owned. I have had very few issues. Fuzzy

Yes, I understand. I love to ride in WV, the mountains so wonderful. No wonder John Denver said, "Country roads, take me home, to the place, where I belong, West Virginia, Mountain Momma, take me home, country roads." Fuzzy

WOW! Thanks Monty. Now that was interesting. I watched all the videos and I have got to make plans to visit Sam and his place the next time I am down that way. He is just as down home as a country boy could be. My kind of people. Thanks for sharing.... Fuzzy

FuzzyRSTD replied to kyle's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Good idea, I like that. Would love to see this done. I only have 13,000 right now though, so I will probably wait a few more I guess. What does the book recommend ? Is it 25,000 I think ? Fuzzy -
Wonderfully said. I wished that all could be together as you all. Congratulations.... So many couples don't make it very far in marriage life nowadays. I also am thankful for my wife and our life's together so far, 29 yrs this October. Fuzzy

Thanks RSTDdog. I will pass this on. You have found some nice ones, especially that last one. He has been checking the Graigs List some, but like you said, I think he is going to have to drive a few miles to get what he is wanting. Fuzzy

Sorry to hear of your loss. Prayers for you and your family. Fuzzy

Love Bluegrass music. I also watch Song Of Mountains on Sunday night. Last year myself and JD rode down to the Hills of Home Bluegrass festival near Clint-wood, Va. I loved it and old Ralph was still able to sing a couple songs. Gold Heart group was there, a couple young girls and their Daddy that where great. If you where there, you could not miss our bikes parked at the stage area entrance. The guard said park them there so I can keep an eye on them. He was a rider himself. Had a great time. Fuzzy

1980 - 1982 Honda CB 900 Custom..........or 1983 Honda CB 1000 Custom. I told him that I would post this to see if any of you all knew of this bike for sale here in the Morehead,Ky general area, say 150-200 miles out or so. Perhaps you may have one ? Thank you in advance. I thought this would be the place to post such a question, since it is not Venture or Tour Deluxe or Gold-wing related. Fuzzy

Sounds like a great idea to me. I will have to see when that time comes along. Here is the link for everyone. I love that bluegrass music. http://www.jerusalemridgefestival.org/about_jerusalem_ridge/Welcome2011byDoc.php :cool10: Fuzzy

Binned the RSTD yesterday
FuzzyRSTD replied to teza51's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Glad you come out of that in one piece. Them yellow painted lines will really get you. I work for the state hwy dept. here, and I have stopped and checked the roadways a lot. When I am in the tandem salt truck and the weather says rain to snow or ice, the first place I check for freezing is the yellow painted line and the bridges. If it is frozen then it won't be long till the rest of the roadway will freeze. The painted lines will get greasy in the summer and the rain makes it worse. Be careful and ride safe. Fuzzy
