Good advice for all to follow, two or twenty.

I like what your said here dynodon. I would agree and we also have to always consider those with the least experience. I like to ride the casual/laid back enjoy the scenery type 45-50 MPH group riding. However I have rode with some that are experienced riders on their own, but when it comes to riding in the group, they are always slacking so far behind that you wonder why they even come with the group. The others are always looking behind to see if they are alright. This can be dangerous, and very annoying to the rest of the group because they are allowing for other vehicles to get in the mix and become a problem. Then I have rode with some that are only worried about how many miles they get in that day, to the point that they become annoying to everyone else. One person in mind did not even like stopping for fuel and when he did, it was always," lets go, lets go, can't get very far like this." Myself and good friend JD, left this fellow and went our own way. Sometimes that is the best thing to do if you want to enjoy a good ride. Fuzzy -
Could you please give me the information/Link to get a hitch from Venturedad ? I am in the process of possibly buying a used one, but if it does not work out, then I would like to buy a new one. Thanks......

In South Dakota- drive train HELP
FuzzyRSTD replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
This really sounds to me like dry splines and dry fingers in the hub. Did you do the work yourself, or hopefully a trustworthy dealer mechanic ? Here is site information and how to do this. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13263 Happened to me when my bike was new at 1500 miles in North Carolina. Clicking sounded like the rear end was going to come out. I knew what it was from what I had read here. There was a dealer there that took me on in and took care of it, warranty no charge, dry from factory. Use Honda Molly to grease all. Did this myself at new tire change. If you have never had the rear wheel off, then I would recommend you take to dealer since you are away from home. The site here is very helpful for this. Hope this helps. Fuzzy -
Sorry Kelly, I can not help here. But as Skydoc says, I admire your grit and hanging in there. Welcome to the site, and there are no stupid questions here. I know because I have gotten myself into a few things, and then found out that I really did not know as much as I thought I did. You came to the right place here, there are a lot of very knowledgeable bike mechanics here, and they do not care to go out of their way and beyond to help. It might take them a little time to get back to you on some more thought if it has not already been taken care of. So many are out riding and doing their thing right now. Sounds like Skydoc has already helped. Again, welcome......... Oh ya, there is at least one rule here we have. We love to see pictures with questions/modifications/how to/ and just about anything. This is good. Thank you. I hate it when jokes are made about the Hillbilly. I am not talking about the small talk jokes, but the television broadcast type that wants to portray us as barefoot and ignorant. If you do not want this old Hillbilly in your face, then please do not joke with me about this. I am a Southern Hillbilly and I am proud of it. Yes we do have the most beautiful women. For supper just now, I had home grown corn on the cob, green beans, chicken and dumplings. Cooked here in my home by my most beautiful wife and grown right here in the dirt of this farm. I love peanuts in a bottle of Coke or Pepsi, not to bad with our own Winchester,Ky green bottle of Ale Eight either. Hot sauce I can not handle like I use to, but every now then I eat it anyway, knowing that it will make me sick later. But that is OK by me,my choice, because I am from the south, and thank God I live in the land of the free. Remember those who have gave all for our wonderful freedom in the South/North/East/West. United States of America. OK, I am off my high horse now, I am done. Fuzzy

FuzzyRSTD replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Is there any difference in the Royal Star Venture tank size than the Royal Star Tour Deluxe ? I am thinking the RSV tank is bigger ? Can not remember...Looked it up, yes the RSV has a 6 gallon and the Tour Deluxe has a 5.3 tank.... So there, answered my own question for those who where thinking the same thing, and also could not remember. Now I guess that makes me useful after all. Fuzzy -

Sorry to hear about this Earl. Some people are so irresponsible nowadays, especially some of these young people. So what is the cure for all these people ? I just do not understand. Glad you are OK, and wow, that could have taken your life so fast and easy. God is watching over you. James -
Thanks to everyone. I just came from the PGR main site. I have not been a member for very long and really had not checked out all the PGR site info. I spend most of my computer time here at this site and e-mails and e-bay. So on the main PGR site I have found plenty of good ideas and not so many pictures, but still a lot of good information from here and PGR. Fuzzy

Thank you Boomer. Good advise, and I must learn the ropes for the PGR. I am a new member. Thank you all very much. I am still looking for a hitch for my bike. Not chrome or expensive, just a painted black hitch. Fuzzy

Ya, Yama Mama, I was wondering the same thing as I sat here relaxing. Just got back from Sunday School trip with the Sunday School kids to Camdom Park in West Virginia. It was 105 degrees in the parking lot when we left at 2:00 pm. I thank God I have air conditioning in my home. How nice.... Wow what beautiful pics Bummer. That good cool snow looks wonderful. I want to go there. Fuzzy

Glad you are ok. Some people do not need to be on the roads, and I believe she is one of them. Hope maybe she will learn from this or quit driving at all. Fuzzy

Thanks 1 - UP . I have one of those lights from Wally World on my hitch for my Toyota Rav4. Those lights work great and I really like what you did to mount the flag holder. Thanks for your time and the pictures. Pictures sometimes say more than a thousand words. Fuzzy

I guess I am doing something wrong when I am doing a search here Long Tall. Because I did try and tried again and did not find the one from Goose. How did you find this and what wording did you use? Thank you very much for another idea. Fuzzy

Thanks w.steve wells for the phone call. Good advise.. Now looking for a hitch to fit my bike. Fuzzy
-
You are right. I received a phone call from member W.Steve Wells and he also said the same thing. So I have had a change of mind thought here and with all the stress involved with the flag attachment and also you and Steve's Wells good advice, I am now looking for a hitch as cheap as I can possibly get one. So if anyone has a hitch lying around to fit my bike, please send /PM me with info. Fuzzy
-
Thanks, but I would rather mount to the luggage rack behind the sissy bar or mount to the fender bolts maybe. I really do not want to use the trailer hitch method. Fuzzy

Other PGR members here I am sure. I am looking into mounting the 3 foot x 5 foot flag to my bike for missions. I want to make the mount and the pole myself and any and all help would be appreciated. I have saw such things in some other sites (Harley) and can not get to the pics and other info with out becoming a member first. Not much on the Ky PGR site either. So far I have come up with very little. Maybe a clothes rod holder for the pole. So your help would be nice. I love pics please. I have searched for hours and many locations on the net and have not gotten any real good info. So I decided to post here and see what others here have done with our bikes. Thank you in advance. I now build these myself. Go here www.jandjflagmounts.com PS; I have come to the conclusion that if someone could come up with a universal type mount, then it would help others. I have decided to build my own and maybe some for others. I can sell a few and save a little gas money for the missions. The Patriot Guard Riders is becoming more and more popular, growing every day.:crackup::rotf: Welcome to both of you newbies. I second the idea of posting with your bike info in your your user cp. This lets everyone know what you are riding. You would not believe the people that ask questions with out any bike info. Leaves you wondering or you just do not answer. Hope you all enjoy the site. The Boss is Freebird, and he has put together a very helpful site here. The people make it what it is. A very nice group of knowledgeable trained mechanics/shade-tree mechanics/and people just to help. Help is what they all do so well. Glad you joined this great bunch.

I know there is, or was, a place somewhere here that had vendors links and info for discount. But I have not been able to locate the location. I am getting old-timers disease, and going blind, and my wife says I can not hear anything at all. I can not spell very well either and it gets so annoying depending on the spell checker and going back and fixing and editing so much. Fuzzy
