Need Prayers for Ponch!!!
FuzzyRSTD replied to Sweetnothing's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Thanks for the updates, and still prayers for all.... I was hoping for more improvement. Makes me wonder that Ponch possibly might have had a stroke and then the accident. Bless his heart for hanging in there. May God bestow upon all here the spirit of comfort and healing. Fuzzy -
Ya, considering that also. Thanks..

Went to the doc today for hearing test. I was diagnosed with above average hearing loss for someone in my age group. The fix would be for hearing aids for both ears. Well not really a fix,but a help. Hearing aids are just what they say, aids. Not like eye glasses that can give you back 20/20 vision. So now I will decide on the hearing aids. The hospital can fix me up on payments. For two of the hearing aids fitted and tuned in the newest Siemens brand water proof (mainly to prevent sweat from entering) $3,400 ... These are the behind the ear small ones. So going to think about this for a while. The doc also explained why I have trouble hearing certain words or sounds, and high pitched women voices. So that helped also.

Kite String "Clotheslines" biker in Toronto
FuzzyRSTD replied to VentureT's topic in Safety and Education
Wow, and I thought it was bad this morning when I ended up behind a log truck pulling a trailer, loaded with a large bulldozer and rocks flying off the trailer every where. I managed to dodge the most of them and still one got me in the left knee. Kinda painful for a little bit at 45 mile an hour. I could see no other way out of this mess, other than getting a semi-clear shot and passing this moron. There was another 4 wheeler behind me riding me pretty close also. It was kinda dark yet and I thought about stopping and checking my bike for damage. But as I recalled it through my memory there was not any that I recalled hitting my bike. I did look after getting to work. I would have gone and chased him down if I had any damage to the bike. Why do people do this ? No respect for anyone else at all. If I find out who this is, I will call them or go to them and let them know how close they came to killing me. I am sure the car behind me got some of the rocks. They where bouncing high and over me also. What would a person do in this situation anyway ? People putting string across a roadway is completely ignorant and disrespectful to every motorist, bike or not.- 10 replies

Pickinfred, I should a figured you would like that too. I ate at Hillbilly Hotdogs over in/around Huntington,WV about 6 weeks ago. I and the church, took the Sunday School kids to Camdom Park and most of us went there to eat afterwards. I ate in the old school bus while listening to some good bluegrass tunes my friend. Good stuff I say. Thanks for mentioning it. Fuzzy

KY PGR gathering at Cumberland Lake - Riding Alone ?
FuzzyRSTD replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Watering Hole
That would be nice CR. My offer also will be to you, if you need a place to rest, got an extra bedroom and plenty of yard to pitch a tent if you would rather. Anytime my friend. You can park your bike in my garage to. I am thinking of sometime building an outhouse out next to the fence out back behind the garage. That would be handy for someone camping. My family has always had an outhouse, just in case the water goes and it is handy for us guys, but my son does not hardly know what that is. Would be good for him to. Did not mean to get off on the outhouse subject, but seemed right anyhow. Maybe it is because we have been talking about the Roadhouse. :rotf: Fuzzy- 3 replies

If you are wondering about this to indicate miles per hour you are traveling, I can tell you that my 2007 Tour Deluxe speedometer is 8 mile slow. If I want to run 75 mph, then I must run 83 per the speedometer to actually do 75 mph. I just checked mine again yesterday per my GPS. There are some other threads here distressing this. There is an electronic devise fix also. Something called a speedo something or other. Sorry, I can not remember. All others speedometers are off by 7-9 mph slow also. Fuzzy

Help!! My dealer has let me down
FuzzyRSTD replied to motorcycle_1300's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Same problem on my 2007 Tour Deluxe. I took mine to Yamaha of Jackson,KY. The mechanic there did a great job. He told me that there was a technical bulletin on this for the dealers for my yr model. The head bolts where supposed to be checked and properly torgued before the new bikes left the dealer. Mine started leaking at around 1,500 mile I think it was. There is a thread here somewhere I started. These morons should fix this, and if not, find you a better dealer even if you have to drive 100 miles. That is what I did. Jackson,Ky is a long ways from my home. There is a new dealer out on St hwy 801 now. The first thing I did when I went for the grand opening, was to meet the mechanics and the service dept. manager. I felt as if they where responsible folks. This is so aggravating for you and you should seek other support. You should report the dealer to the main Yamaha people. Fuzzy -
This is a good idea. This would be the best way to attach a mudguard to the rear whether you had a hitch or not. Just take out the four bolts and remove the rear cross bar and weld a couple flat tabs to it to mount your mud guard. I wish that I would have thought of that before I went through the trouble of attaching mine. I did not want to drill holes in my fender either. You should post that wonderful idea with your picture for everyone. Fuzzy

Now that is a good idea Snaggletooth. :rotf:We could give the free rides down the road at a pre-determined speed from the jumper. The jumper could have on the parachute and then stand and pull the cord whenever they wish. SERIOUSLY; A good idea for some though Tom. My wife would do it in a New York minute. She wants to power glide with someone to, tandem. Fuzzy

Can I ask for a few prayers?
FuzzyRSTD replied to Gamecock's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Good news. Glad you updated everyone. I have family in those positions. They can not say much about their line of work or sometimes where they are traveling to. He is in the security division that travels and sets up the electronics and security location specs for people in the government/presidents and senators etc. I do know that much and he also told me once that he had to set up security for the president on one of our own US aircraft carriers once. I guess maybe some are thinking that about anyone might take him out. That is all I will say about that. Glad you found employment. God has always blessed me in that I have always had a job, and when I did not, somehow money would always show up from something. We owe it all to him. Fuzzy -
Thanks, glad the storm was not as bad as predicted. The media has sure made a very large coo-doo over it all. It could have been a lot worse. Thank God it was not. Fuzzy

Sorry bknsaddle, I did not notice your post until today, while looking at mbrood's post. I agree with you both, no difference. So what is up that price difference ? I may call JC Whittney customer service and ask that question. I could find no difference at all. Usually Harley is higher in price just because it is Harley. Fuzzy

KY PGR gathering at Cumberland Lake - Riding Alone ?
FuzzyRSTD replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Watering Hole
Road 460 miles today. Enjoyed a nice ride with very nice people at the Gathering of Guards here in Kentucky. I met C.R and his very sweet wife, we had a good time. Took place at Lake Cumberland State Park. I also enjoyed a very good, and free, meal at the Harley Store (can not remember the name of the place) down around London,Ky. They fixed steak on the big grill and man it was tender and good. I say again that I really enjoyed getting together with these folks and riding the beautiful scenic roads around Lake Cumberland. Thanks to all who took part and for what the PGR does for the family and friends of all those whom gave their life for our freedoms. Thanks to C.R and his wife for all the information and for the offer to open their home to me. Steel Horse Cowboy is looking for a set of Roadhouse slip on 2 into 1 pipes for his 1999 Royal Star Venture. I have checked a few places and have come up with nothing so far. I would appreciate any help finding these. Thank You ..... C.R here is the Thread I started back in 2008. I did get them from Dennis Kirk. http://venturerider.org/forum/search.php?searchid=2399498&pp=25&page=3 It might be possible that they do not make them for your bike anymore. I am still looking though. My pipes came with the slash cut tips. I turned them to point down. Fuzzy
