Mrich12000 Rest in Peace
FuzzyRSTD replied to Rocket's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
I received a phone call today from the funeral home. Michael Vital Richard died from natural causes while on a trip on his bike. I was at work and busy and forgot to ask about the typo error in the date of birth. Sorry for his family and friends. Fuzzy -
Prayers from our family for you and yours Yammer Dan. I hope and pray she makes it home safe and they get that gallbladder taken care of. My wife has had a few problems with that, and she was so very very sick. They have not still said for sure here either, but we think the gallbladder is the problem. Keep us posted Yammer, and take care of yourself too. The worry can cause a person to do some crazy things. Be careful on your way to the hospital Yammer. Fuzzy

Wally World carries it..... -
OK, now I get it. At the first of your thread you say you own a Harley. This led me to believe you where riding one, but glad you mentioned later that you where riding an RSV. But either way, I feel for that fellow. As you say, a lot of money for a scoot, then to have the bike break down. But that is OK, this happens with all brands I'm sure. Seems that quality control is becoming a serious problem every where. The companies are trying to cut corners and save money. The work force is not what it used to be either. It's a shame, but people just do not care anymore. You see this in every thing. Fuzzy

Yep for sure Seafoam and maybe carb sync. My bike does not need the choke in normal 55 degree weather and above. It is parked in a well insulated garage though. The garage makes a big difference. I start the bike and it takes me about 30 seconds to back it out and away I go, no problems. I use the choke later in winter. I pull the choke and start and then push half way in, it stays at half way until I get to the main road US 60 and then I must push it all the way in. No problems. Fuzzy -
To China Yammer, every thing else is built over there.

Sorry to hear of this. Maybe someone will find out what happened for sure. Thanks for making mention of this Rocket. I have read a few of his post. According to the obituary records, he was only 57 or maybe 59 years old. I called the funeral home to see if I could find something out, but no one was there that could help me. Someone is supposed to call me or send me an e-mail tomorrow. I told them that there where some here that would like to know. I also mentioned the typo in the date of birth. Here is what it said. Fuzzy Michael Vital Richard February 25, 1954 - July 22, 2011 Michael Vital Richard February 24th 1952 – July 22nd 2011 Passed away while on vacation in Swift Current Saskatchewan. Mike will be missed by his sisters Margaret(Wayne), Linda(John deceased), Carol(Wayne) and brother Christopher(Eileen). Mike is predeceased by his parents Vital and Phyllis and brother Dennis. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his many friends. Although Mike lived most of his life in Ontario, he loved living and working in Calgary for the past 2 years. A Memorial will be held on Wednesday August 10th at 7pm with viewing at 6pm at the Simple Alternatives Funeral Home at 1057 Brock Rd South,Pickering Ontario 905-686-5589. -
Good luck Yammer Dan. You have been trying to get this done since June 28,2011 at 6:35 pm. That was your first post. I would love to see you get it before winter sets in. Fuzzy

Need Prayers for Ponch!!!
FuzzyRSTD replied to Sweetnothing's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Thanks Gunboat for the update. Glad you got to catch up with old friends and pay your healing respect and honor to Ponch and his family. Glad Ponch is still progressing. Prayers for all the family and friends. Fuzzy -
Thanks, but I am to late now. They where placed on e-bay, buy it now, already sold. They where nice guards but no mounting hardware. Oh well, not so lucky after all. Ah, probably ought to just wait any how. Thanks ..... WOW only $22.00 shipping $5.00, not bad. I had them figured a lot higher than that. Fuzzy

The chrome pieces at the attaching point at the front of the guards Goose. The pieces I am calling spacers is just behind the passenger floor boards and the long bolt goes through these as you attach to the larger cross guard rail. It does not really matter anyway. They are already gone/sold. Thanks anyway Goose. Did you go to the same typping class toooo or ?????? or was that me...? Fuzzy -
I found a decent set of saddle bag side rail guards for my bike. But there is no bolts and spacers to attach them to the bike. Sooooo, does anyone have a set of the attaching bolts and spacers to sell ? Or a total set of the bars and necessary hardware to attach. These rails that I have found have the reflectors on them. But I am reluctant to buy them with out knowing about the needed hardware to attach. The price seems reasonable. Fuzzy

Pleasure meeting you all at Freebird's Maintenance Day. I won one of the Australian handkerchiefs you all brought to the USA in the random drawing. It was really hot then. So thanks, I used it on my way back home to keep me cool. I soaked it in ice water and placed it around my neck. I thought of you all every time I use it. Thanks, and may God bless you in all you do. Glad you made your journey safely. Fuzzy

Ya Monty, I noticed that to. Buttttt I was not going to say anything, my typing is soooo bad. I am thankful for spell check. Takes me quite a while to type several sentences and get them right, then do the spell checking corrections and all my grammar changing. Fuzzy -
I average 42 mpg and have gotten 44 mpg and this on all 55 mile per hour two lane roads riding by myself. I am 285 lb of pure Muscle............and just a small amount of fat. Fuzzy

Sync and plugs sounds like a good start to me. These bikes average around the 40 mark I think.
-
I thought the Venture came with the saddle bag side guards that wrap around with the reflector on them. I do not see any on the 2012 model ? I have always thought that all the Ventures came with these. Matter of fact I have been looking for a set for my RSTD. I found one set but has no attachment bolts and the chrome spacers. Fuzzy
-
Well that is a surprise Monty, thought sure you would have this. I want to get me a carb Sync tool eventually. I just checked your profile page and never knew you where a retired Firefighter & EMS. Thanks for your time and help to, and for, the public. Also noticed you are a veteran and also a PGR member also. Thank you for your service to our country. Fuzzy

Well, time will tell and I'm sure it depends upon how you drive it. It is rated 17 city and 27 highway. For some reason, Eileen always seems to get better gas mileage out of our vehicles than I do. One other thing that I noticed last night while looking at some specs online. They recommend synthetic oil, which I always use anyway. BUT...this thing takes 8.5 quarts of oil. Now any of you who know me know that I always use Mobil 1...but at over $8.00 per quart X 8.5 quarts PLUS the filter? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sounds good Freebird. I like Synthetic Mobil 1 also. I get mine in the 5 qt jugs at Wally-World for $24.00 something a jug. Should have bought 3/4 jugs because I was told that it has gone up. I have 2007 Toyota Rav4 with the 4 cylinder 30,000 miles (25/27 city 24 hwy here in the hills 26 all the time in Ohio), that we love. Also 1994 Olds 98 108,000 miles with the V6 3800 engine (25 city 30/32 hwy), also 1998 Chevy c1500 pickup with 43,000 miles. My Father In Law bought this truck new and passed away 2 yrs ago and I take extra special care of it. Fuzzy

Well the working man does not have a chance. I just got in and sat down here, and turned the computer on. Shucks I thought I had this one. But I was wrong anyway. I thought it was a Corvette. but sounds like I was close. Nice ride Freebird, I am glad for you all. Wonder what kinda fuel mileage you get with these babies ? Fuzzy
