Hope all goes well bongobobny. What is DB please ? I see a lot of abbreviations on here sometimes, and I have no idea what they are talking about, this is one of those times. Fuzzy

I took off the rest of this week to take a break and get some bow-hunting time in. Got me a young doe yesterday evening for the freezer. I will eat some of it, the rest will be given to friends. I will be hunting for a turkey or two this evening. Yet for now, here I sit on this computer. I better save this for later and get going. I would have liked to have gotten some riding in, a little anyway, but need tires (two bad spots to the threads, not safe at all),sigh, and will probably just wait until this winter to put them on. Well It is hard sometimes in life to decide the better of two loves. I love to ride, but I also love to bow-hunt. There are needs in my life for both. The thing is though, that both are at their peak at the same time during Fall of year. I do not care to gun hunt, I would rather deer/turkey hunt with my bow. If I wait to long into deer season, then all the other deer seasons will be in and out, early muzzle loader this weekend for two days. Then another muzzle loader season for 7-8 days. Then modern gun season for three weeks in November. So I like to hunt now before all this. I seem to have my best days afield now and until the second week of November. I look for a good buck, pass on a lot of small ones. So this takes time. But I love them both. So off I go to the woods for now. Man I would love to take a ride......... Fuzzy

Are they good to eat after they spawn ? I would think they would be. Can you catch them after they have spawned ? Does seem like a waist to some extent, but I am going to say that there is a motive for this, some good reason that we may not understand. I know the bears like that time of the year. I saw some of this on TV about the Salmon spawn and their travels. Interesting..... Fuzzy

Thanks Rick. I also posted to my Facebook. Hope this opens a few eyes, if you know what I mean. The family of these three will have to live with this always. Fuzzy

Last I heard you all had to pay an arm and a leg for SeaFoam. Glad to see you are getting a good price. $ 9.50 or so a can here in the fine State of Kentucky in the USA, at Wally World. fuzzy

No, they are a Cadillac of a bike for those who like that type of a ride from what I have saw and read. I like my RSTD and would ride a Goldwing if ever given a chance, just to find the difference for me. I do like the looks of the stripped down version, Valkyrie I think it is. Fuzzy Not mine, just a picture of one I would like to call mine......

Need Prayers for Ponch!!!
FuzzyRSTD replied to Sweetnothing's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Thanks for the updates all. So glad to hear the good news, from what is to me, such a far away place. I know the best news always comes because of a very far country, called heaven. I Thank God that Ponch is coming along so well. This all has been such an inspiration to me. I am humbled by all the friends here on this site that care so much for everyone and all there wonderful words of encouragement to those in need. Still praying for my friend and his family. Humbly, Fuzzy -
Thanks Seaking. I have used these type shocks before and now understand what I was doing. I wish these bikes had a better rear shock than what I have read about. Thanks again, Fuzzy

Replacing seat with harley seat
FuzzyRSTD replied to muaymendez1's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Good idea, hope it works out for you. My friend JD whom rides a Harley Road King, says his stock seat is very uncomfortable. Fuzzy -
Thank you for this good news. This may sound kinda silly to you, but what does pre-load mean ? Maybe it means the ability to add air, therefore pre-loading the shock ? Fuzzy

Receive in three days from Jake Wilson. Thanks everyone for your input and help on this issue. I will buy the tires from Jake Wilson. I had never heard of them. So simple to find and order tires from the Jake Wilson site. I will always use them from now on. Although I have not placed the order yet, I went through the order procedure and finding the correct tires. I will order in the near future. Ordering tires has always been a pain for me. So many sites are confusing and lack good information. Thanks everyone for all your gracious help. Fuzzy

Joe I measured my tread depth as you advised. Thanks......I too have always worn two rear tires to one front. The front tire is a Avon Venom 150-80-16 71H and it measures to the top of old Licoln's head. So I might be replacing both. Thanks, I found a good deal at Motosports.com I think it was. I sent them an e-mail. $249.99 with free 3 day shipping. However they are out of stock of the rear tire and I also ask them about the age of their front tires and a better description of the front tire. Update ; no return e-mail yet. I am ordering from Jake Wilson site. Fuzzy

Sorry Goose, I messed up on the prices. I did edit and fix. This was JC Whittney, and I do not know if this the front or not. Says rear, but in the correct size. I have caught JC Whittney up in some very funny typing errors. I will have to call them if I decide to get a front. But the way the billfold feels right now, I will probably be just getting a black wall rear and wait until next time to change front if possible. JC Whittney does have the wide white wall in the Venoms. You just click on the (change item details) next to the (Add To Cart button) and the white walls will show up. But like you, I would rather have the narrow white walls.
-
Thanks, Nope not yet Joe. But I will take another look see. Need to do some serious thinking and mind making up here. Thinking of the white walls, maybe....... Fuzzy
-
Thanks Goose. I also change out my own, so the front can wait. What do you think of the white walls. Have you heard of any extra issues or some odd issue with the white walls ? Sorry, but I just updated my thread after looking at JC Whittney site. They do have the white walls. But wow, the front is listed as a rear in the size chart, and is higher priced than the rear tire. Rear is $162.99-- AM42 150/90VB15 Venom Rear Front is $164.99 sized as this -- AM42 150/80VB16 Venom Rear

Well it is that time again. The Avon Venoms have 11,414 miles on them. I put them on new myself at 4,130 miles on the bike, bought bike new. I checked the bike after it started feeling kinda squirrely. A strange feeling, almost as if the axle where loose. I checked all the air as usual/tires/shocks/forks, and found no problem. So then I thought well maybe the rear tire is worse than I thought/previously checked it. So after checking it again this evening, tire must be replaced before any further riding. I had to lock it up once about a month ago, tractor trailer pulled out in front of me. So I think this could be the cause of the one bad wore spot/about 4 inches long. There is at least one other spot that is somewhat worn also. My question is this. Should I replace the front also at this mileage (11,414) ? The front tire is with in about 1/16 " of being down to the tread ware mark in the center. I love these Avon tires. I have always run the Dunlop tires on other bikes. This is the first time for me to change out a set of worn Avon Venoms. That is why I am wondering about the front tire. I checked some other threads and saw where some have gotten 14,000 miles out of a rear tire. I understand that, riding habits, where you live/road conditions and curves and hills makes a difference in the ware. As I said I am happy with the mileage. But I did not find anything suggesting the front tire change mileage. Should I replace the front also at this mileage (11,414) ? Where is the best deal on a rear Avon or both front and rear ? Also, what about the white walls ? Any issues with these ? Thanks everyone for your input. Fuzzy

Thank you. As someone else also said, may we always remember. Fuzzy
