  1. I did not order the end weight attachment bolts and had to order them later. I am sure that Rick I believe was his name mentioned them to me, but I did not add them to the order. He kindly sent them to me later with out charging me any shipping. That is why you did not see them in the pictures. Thanks for your kind words, yes it is kinda really stressful right now..... FUZZY :thumbsup2:
  2. The ss lines will never have to be replaced and are long enough that there is no problems getting everything back together. The ss lines to not give/bulge when brakes are applied as the regular rubber lines do and the regular rubber lines will have to be replaced at some point and time. The throttle lines are also included and all are long enough that there is no rerouting or pinching/binding in the throttle cables. The rubber brake/clutch lines are suggested to be replaced at or around a certain yr/miles of use that I can not remember but did read here somewhere in a thread. Snaggletooth had a post about this somewhere. The end connectors must be used for the weights if you are putting them back, I like them myself. The Flanders bars have no way of connecting them. The stock bars come with the connection made into the inside of them and can not be removed. You can not buy the stuff that is used to do the connection for the 20 dollars Buckeye charges for them if you count the gas getting there and are lucky in finding it all. Although it is something you could come up with if you knew exactly what the parts are. Easier and cheaper for me to just buy them. I did not take a picture of them, but it consisted of a solid rubber piece and a 1/4" bolt at a certain length of around 2" and a washer and a nut with a tooth like back on it to keep it from turning against the rubber and squeezing it up to allow everything to tighten and pull the end weight to the bar end. The bolt had an american size allen head. Then there is also the foam rubber grips that you can get from Buckeye to go over your stock that I like. Use a little water in the inside of them to get them to slip up over your stock. I like the feel of them. If you buy the rest from them, they may throw these 12 dollar items in with your kit. 3. Welcome csf, i want to say that i saw this thread and began reading it and could not stop. i have read every post, and i have to say that it sounds like you got a lot of good honest and experienced opinions here. if you find yourself that one bike that you love, then i would highly recommend your next step to be to become a full fledged member here (only 12 dollars a yr). all the needed information for all your upgrades and maintenance for these bikes is in this site. i am really proud to say that i am part of this great group of people here. i am so grateful to all that have really helped me out over the yrs, and all the fellowship and great rides. Fuzzy :thumbsup2:
  4. Steve we got pins with our venturerider name on them last year i believe and yr before. so if you signed up that you where going to be there, you got a nice 1 1/2" round pin to go on too your shirt/hat so everyone knew who you where from the site. nice thought, can not remember who did that ?????? but really stuck out for me, i could reflect on the folks there from their site name, some i already felt as if i knew them for yrs.... Ponch being one of them, i so wanting to possibly see ponch if he was able to be there in a car ???? Fuzzy
  5. I used these to, good information. I just did mine, been saving money for a year and did the whole upgrade frm buckeye performance , $600.00 and great to deal with and if you check the ss lines price you will not beat their price and the lines that include the plastic tool to turn the banjo connectors to the correct position. you need 2 cans of the correct oem brake fluid, used one and very little from the second. do the job with your bike in an up right position if possible, on a motorcycle jack. helps get the air out of the front lines. cover the entire bike paint with garbage bags before you start and have some help. not a bad job, call if i can help you, i will. 606 - 356 - 7797 i am off work with shoulder surgery recovery, one handed typing......... http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67699 Fuzzy
  6. You should have ordered from Buckeye Performance and gotten the whole deal. I did and would recommend all to do the same. I waited until I could it all and spent the total of almost $ 600.00 but it is worth it to do it all, correct flanders bars, foam grip covers, ss lines all the way around and end connectors to put the ends back on. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67699 Fuzzy :thumbsup2:
  7. I sure will miss everyone this year. This shoulder surgery is going to keep me in this year. Hope everyone has a wonderful time. We will be praying for all to have a safe and enjoyable time. I will be keeping tabs on all and the goings on. Tell Don thanks from me to all. If anyone in this area needs help, just give me holler, I will be there if possible. Wife is having surgery on April 9 th, removing her thyroid and some small growths. So we will be having our hands full around the Fultz household for a while. Take care you all, and please be very careful while traveling. Fuzzy PS; Would someone pick my pin up for me and or mail if possible ? :thumbsup2:

  11. http://motorcycleinfo.org/2008/07/police-motorcycles/ this is some more police bike information, with a little information about our member dingy. if you look close at the last picture on the bottom (police suit and white scooter), you will see a striking resemblance to our great member dingy, and venturous somewhere in the background cheering him on.. :rotf: fuzzy
  12. all right dingy, i knew you would come up with something. thanks ...... not embarrass mmmmm now come on.... nice picks though..... but i have to say that high red light looks pretty shameful... does anyone remember the chips police bike show ? ponch and ????? what kinda bikes where those ? fuzzy
  13. we all know what would really be a good police bike. wonder if the royal star tour deluxe or venture has ever been considered or made into a police special ? picture would be so nice... fuzzy
  14. i took my dear granny (87 yrs old at the time) her first boat ride, right after the family reunion dinner once. the rest of the family came and helped get her life jacket on and get her seated. we started down the lake and got up on plain at about 40 mph and was cruising there. i said memaw is that fast enough ? she replied ...... GAS IT , so away we went and she loved it and i believe that was the most laughter and enjoyment i heard and saw from her in my life. she passed 6 yrs ago and still the family all talk about that and the pictures. i took her a short ride on a 175 honda street bike when she was 60 yrs old. she loved that to. the picture does not look real to me. but would i do that. ABSOLUTELY IN A NEW YORK MINUTE. of course i would make sure she was secured and had a helmet on. i have a dear old friend who wants me to take him coon hunting when he turns 100 yrs old. i told him to count on it. i would however have to get some family member with the coon dogs to take us, for i quit coon hunting and sold my dogs, but i will make sure it is done, if i live long enough. he is around 73 now and i am 48. fuzzy
  15. you got me wondering about mine fred, i will pull the covers off and check the fit against the filter frame. thank you for this useful post....:thumbsup2:
  16. good one thank you. i shared it with facebook... :thumbsup2:
  17. congrats marcarl..... one handed fuzzy
  18. thanks fred... i did the k&n filters back when i first serviced my bike. i went with k&n because of the shameful price for the oem filters, a price gouging gimmick i believe. the k&n can be taken out and cleaned every two years or so and placed back. i am for saving the ridiculous price for two paper filters. i would use an oily rag before i would pay that to replace the oem paper every two yrs or sooner in different climates and road conditions. no disrespect to anyone, but there is not even a question as to what i would do, a no brainier.
  19. OK. I am back and surgery went ok. Doctor says he found some extra stuff wrong and he fixed it. I will find out more when I go back to the next visit next week. I am taking some very powerful pain meds and using a cooling machine with a wrap around my shoulder. It works great. My throat is very raw and I have been spitting up a lot of blood last night and this morning. I can not hardley talk. Thanks everyone for thoughtfulness.
  20. So sorry for your loss. My wife and I would like to offer our condolences to you and your family. May God be present and give you peace and comfort during these trying times. So sorry.... Fuzzy
  21. Left shoulder surgery tomorrow. Just wanted to warn everybody that I will be aggravating you all for quite some time again. No work or ride for the last 8 weeks and now after surgery, 3 - 6 months recovery. So no work and ride either and I am sick already. I have my new bars and SS lines on that I can not try and a trip planned and going to miss Don's Maintenance day. Well shoot, oh well. I am blessed and I realize that, but dog gone it, it really really really sucks getting old. I need to learn that when I am working that I am not able to do as I always have. Well I have time to get some computer work done. Adding to Don's Member Vendor list and going to try to sell a few Stinger Flagpole Mounts that I have been working on and to help me and the PGR riders out a little. I have a guy in or next to Kenova,WV building me up a few. Then also a friend nearby to help when needed. Then I am painting and taking care of the rest. The steel and is going to be the biggest factor I believe,so expensive. Well so consider yourselves warned that I am going to be lurking about for a long while. Please come visit me here. Thanks all for your cares and prayers. Fuzzy :thumbsup2:
  22. Well I received my end adapters from **Buckeye Sports** today. I got them on and ** I am really pleased with all the outcome. A good bunch of people to deal with there, highly recommend anyone doing this to give Rick a call A+ grade for them. Also a tip to those doing this. Try your best to have the bike sitting straight up on center stand or a stand and the air will be a whole lot easier to get out of the front system, rather than leaning on the side stand. Then 24 - 48 hrs later, bleed everything one more time. Have a great day all. Shoulder surgery tomorrow, Woooo Hooooo , ya ugggg. No riding now and no riding for quite some time. I will be aggravating all you for a while. Fuzzy :thumbsup2:
  23. Thank you. Wow that was quick. Did you also change out all the front brake/rear brake/clutch lines to SS ? I changed my spark plugs to at the same time. And did you have any trouble with air in the front brake lines after wards, or did you have to bleed one more time after riding ? I will not be able to ride for a while, so just wondering about that. Surgery this Friday, left shoulder Labram tear. Fuzzy
  24. Done this at 15,400 mile. Thought I would share some pictures that might help someone else later. I also did the spark plug change while doing this. The plugs torque on 13 flb and the Dogbones or Upper Engine Supports torque as stated on 46 flb. The plugs gap between 30 - 35 thousands. The brake/clutch fluid is Dot-4 fluid. One small can did all mine with a lot bleeding on the front brakes. However it was just barely enough, so buy yourself two small cans. You know as easy as the clutch fluid was, I am going to start changing it at least once a year. I used the small aquarium clear hose from wall-mart to go over the bleeders. Just put you a good set of needle nose pliers in the end and twist and put some pressure out as you do it, works very well. BEFORE I pulled the tank off when it came time to do the clutch and brake lines. Should have just pulled it off before hand. I still have to put those on when they come in the mail. Also the extra foam grips that go over the originals to.
