    Good thread, thanks for starting. I really enjoy reading everyone's post about Bluegrass and the those that began the music and those that are still listening to the songs of the mountains. The family ties and so forth. My son would sit on my lap and watch every minute of the Song Of The Mountains bluegrass program on tv when he was only 1 year old. He would wiggle his feet to the beat of the music and sit there listening to the entire show. He is 7 now and still loves bluegrass. I bought him a small frame full size guitar a month ago. He is messing with it ever now and then. We keep it in the front room and when we have playing visitors, they pick a tune. I can pick a little, but I guess I am a gifted listener. Fuzzy

    OK, Here are the rules for the game. #1 does not matter where you live you can pick a team and be on it. #2 You must take a picture of: you, your bike and the baton in front of the state capitol and post it here. I will keep a spread sheet of each team and the states they have been to and who carried the baton. #3 you will be responsible for finding and meeting up with the next person to carry the baton to the next state capitol. #4 Does not matter what they ride but must be a bike and be a member here. Let's make a start date of April 14th 2012. I will be the captain of the north team and will make a baton for us and get it started. I need a person to volunteer to be the captain of the south team and make a baton and get things started for the south team other than that let's have fun and ride careful. ps.....if you all can think of anything I left out or rules I forgot let me know. Thanks to those willing to play Rick Bob, the #1 in the rules is your answer. I thought the same thing, then reviewed the rules again. Fuzzy

    I live where there was once a great division, but I will make it easy and side with my SOUTHERN hospitality. I would be be willing to do West Virginia and the bluegrass state of Kentucky. SOUTH for me. Only thing is, I have to be fully recovered from my left shoulder surgery and get my tires on my bike. This should be taking place with in or by the end of May, first part of June. Sounds like fun, so if my surgery would not cause a problem, then count on me. Fuzzy

    Yama Mama, if you follow part of this advise, make sure you have your concealed to carry and a cannon stashed away on you. You may need it.     Mike, would that be the same feeling most whom have the second geners would have with Progressives ? If so, is this something I need to start saving for, like I did for the Flanders bar upgrade ? I know we all need sea foam forever........... and death and taxes are a no brainer. Fuzzy

    PS; 3/29/12 - To clear up any negative thoughts that I may have unintentionally caused, I meant that I have always felt welcomed by most here and really felt welcome from Kathy and Ponch, and felt they really enjoyed their time with the members here. Especially at Freebirds MD, since that has been the only big gathering that I have been to. I was invited and did attend Mrsv (Dennis's) Memorial Day Ride, had a good time there also, nice ride and fellowship. I agree with Freeebird, possibly Kathy is having some problems with motorcycles in general. Considering what they all have been through and especially Kathy and Ponch. Fuzzy

    I have loved bluegrass since a child, 48 now. I am one of the rare few that have always been big fans of Earl Scruggs & Lester Flat, Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys, when most my age where listening to Kiss, so did I, but the next three songs might be bluegrass. Me and JD road to the Hills of Home Festival and enjoyed one day of good bluegrass last year. Rest In Peace Earl............. Fuzzy

    I too would like to apologize for others whom might not have made Ponch or Kathy feel welcome or a part of the membership here at any of the gatherings. They both will always have my greatest respect and honor. We feel as we have known them all their life's and met them for one day and spent time putting my center stand on and talking and making me feel so welcome at Freebirds MD. I care for the both of them and want only the best for them.May God continue to bless and help this family and let us not forget why we are all here.     Yes you may be right David. But if he was running that kind of speed, you did not have time to see him. I can see it in my mind, because I have been there and done that in a tandem axle dump truck. You did well by getting out of the errant idiot's way and saving his life. Fuzzy

    I did not have to Reshired. Mine had plenty enough room, but I did have all the zip-ties loose and wiring was not rerouted for this. I read somewhere that someone had done the mod and did not even replace the throttle cable, did say it was tight though even after rerouting the throttle cable. But no problems with the wiring anywhere. I also had to wait an extra week or so on my order. The foam covers for grips do enlarge them somewhat. But better for me and my large hands. Fuzzy

    Agree 100% my friend. And he really had no reason to get smart mouth with David. Glad David handled it. I might have done something else, hope not , but might have. Moron is right. Snaggletooth probably got it right, he needs a broom handle in his spokes.

    Yep, been thinking that too. But the shoulder thingy is taking me to a dreaded stressful kind of nonriding fatigue type of sickness that has my mind and body in some kind of terrible withdraw seizures and such, that cause me to want to wonder around looking at different bikes and holler out loud at the sky and then also all at those that I love and cherish. I have become a monster in a lot of ways, I am so stressed from not being able to ride and not being able to drive a car or pickup. Not being able to even get my own britches on and belt buckled with out my wife's help. Socks are a pain. Have not slept in our bed for several weeks and several more weeks as of today I was informed. The best driver in my family so far, out of four, is my sister. She took me to the doctor appointment today. She does a wonderful job.Second would be my wife,she does OK, but. Third would be my daughter, oh my.Then the worst is my dear Mother,God bless her heart and please help us all, she scares me to death and so hard to keep my big mouth from trying to help her too. I AM A MESS..........WOULD NOT BE SAFE FOR ME TO RIDE AT THIS TIME,EVEN IF MY SHOULDER DID WORK ............. Shoooooo Weeee, time for another pain pill. Fuzzy :confused24:

    I was thinking the same thing Dark about relocating the one wheel to better reflect the needed weight, or not so much rearward of and to the hitch, but more centering. I also want to comment on what the cost is to patent a build. I have done some research on this for a build of mine, not a trailer, but a Stinger Flagpole Mount that I have designed and built to help the PGR members and to sell at an affordable price for everyone. My finds so far are this; #1. You must find a lawyer whom does this,not all lawyers can or will. #2.The cost of patenting a product is in the neighborhood of $6000.00 . According to a very nice and seemed very intelligent lawyer that was willing to give me some free advise from Lexington,KY. #3.The product must be patented within the first year of completion and or sold to someone else. #4. If someone copies your patent, you still must hire the lawyers and play and pay the system. #5. It usually takes about 12 months for all the research to be done and paper work cleared and filed. This was according to this lawyer whom seemed to be very willing to help me out and took his time explaining and making sense of it all. Fuzzy

    I have been looking at this bike every time I go for a check up on my shoulder surgery in Mount Sterling,KY..... The dealer is right next door with in walking distance, and I did think of one of these before me and my Red Raven sweetheart, but I am kinda struck on her. Does any one else have one or had any experience with them. I still love my RSTD, but, this bike has some really nice features and I absolutely love this color. Very good breaking system. Belt drive.     Well, good news in one way, but wished you could have gotten them sooner. I forgot to mention the lower clutch line, sorry, I knew that. Did you get the kit, and did he throw in the extra foam grips ?

    So the neighbor turned on the key and fried the amp ? Sorry to here that..... I guess we should always remove the key when we are doing something electrical on these beasts. I got to thinking about that and I should have removed my key when I was doing my Flanders bars upgrade and probably should have removed the hot cable, I did think about it. A large expense for such a small thing to do. Once again I am sorry to hear about this. The rest of us should learn from this, $1500.00 for new amp, shoooo weeee. Fuzzy

    Nice to hear from you today Goose. I have been back on the site some just kinda messing around. Had surgery on my left shoulder. Anyways I saw where you had started this thread yesterday, and wanted to speak a howdy to you my friend. Hope you getting along fine sir, take care of yourself and be safe out there.I will miss seeing you at Freebirds this yr. This is a fine thread that I need to save for future referance when I upgrade my clutch at or around 25-30 thousand miles. Only 15 thousand for now. I did the complete Buckeye Preformance Flanders upgrade on my bike with help from brother just before surgery. Be glad to get my two new tires on sometime and ride it. TAKE CARE GOOSE,AGAIN,NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU MY FRIEND. One armed Fuzzy :thumbsup2:

    I did not order the end weight attachment bolts and had to order them later. I am sure that Rick I believe was his name mentioned them to me, but I did not add them to the order. He kindly sent them to me later with out charging me any shipping. That is why you did not see them in the pictures. Thanks for your kind words, yes it is kinda really stressful right now.....     The ss lines will never have to be replaced and are long enough that there is no problems getting everything back together. The ss lines to not give/bulge when brakes are applied as the regular rubber lines do and the regular rubber lines will have to be replaced at some point and time.The throttle lines are also included and all are long enough that there is no rerouting or pinching/binding in the throttle cables. The rubber brake/clutch lines are suggested to be replaced at or around a certain yr/miles of use that I can not remember but did read here somewhere in a thread. Snaggletooth had a post about this somewhere. The end connectors must be used for the weights if you are putting them back, I like them myself. The Flanders bars have no way of connecting them. The stock bars come with the connection made into the inside of them and can not be removed. You can not buy the stuff that is used to do the connection for the 20 dollars Buckeye charges for them if you count the gas getting there and are lucky in finding it all. Although it is something you could come up with if you knew exactly what the parts are. Easier and cheaper for me to just buy them. I did not take a picture of them, but it consisted of a solid rubber piece and a 1/4" bolt at a certain length of around 2" and a washer and a nut with a tooth like back on it to keep it from turning against the rubber and squeezing it up to allow everything to tighten and pull the end weight to the bar end. The bolt had an american size allen head. Then there is also the foam rubber grips that you can get from Buckeye to go over your stock that I like. Use a little water in the inside of them to get them to slip up over your stock. I like the feel of them. If you buy the rest from them, they may throw these 12 dollar items in with your kit.
