    1986 Honda Goldwing Aspencade - Triked with the same trunk that was on the two wheel bike. The pictures show what he has now and the parts are missing. He was at my house today to pick up a flag mount. [ATTACH]68202[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]68203[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]68204[/ATTACH] A friend at church needs a part for his latch on his trunk. He has looked and says he gives up. So I volunteered to help him find the part. I told him that I had connections that worked every time. He is not computer oriented. He needs this for his original trunk, part of the latch that is connected to allow the latch to grab hold of the top lid hasp. The lid is fairly large and it has a wind deflector sport type visor on it also. There is two parts there, one on each side of the lid. He said there is a part that goes in the latch on the bottom, a couple small rods of some type. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Fuzzy

    Glad you all came out of that Okay. Sounds like a very slow slow ooops. Yes lugging around to slow can also get you into trouble on those inclines, and quick. Very easily done after a long day of riding to. You probably was not on a trip. But since you say you have not been riding long, I want to share something with you my friend. Anytime your on a trip, or just plain worn out from a long day at work, do not ride until you are completely give out. Get some rest and enjoy tomorrow. I have learnt that there is no need to push yourself. My friend and I did that last year on a return trip because we did not want to pay for a room 130 miles from home and getting dark. I did check on one and it was $120.00 for the night. I wanted to stay but my friend said ayyy lets just go on home. Well he learnt the hard way to. We where completely worn out and had to really concentrate to get on home. A bad mistake. This year the first thing he talked about was that we do not need to do that again. Sorry if I sound like a teacher, but wanted to share that. Fuzzy

    I also saw this and I to as Goose, do not believe putting any thing in my tires except air, period. I clean the rims when I put new tires on with a copper wire brush at the tire bead on the rim. The rubber residue needs to come off as best you can. Goose uses the regular tire slick stuff to mount a tire, that is good, I use dish washing soap. So far no problems, but I am going to have to get me some that regular tire snot slicky mounting slimey stuff. Man it is good to see you back old friend Goose. Post on if you feel like it, I am paying attention. I saw real quick that you where just trying to state your point and be on with it. I was going to do the same thing before I saw your post Goose. I do not like the add in stuff at all. A money gimmick and possible aluminum rim damage to. My last set of tires where marked just as the old ones came off and put back on the same exact way. My first tire change I changed the tires to the Avons and then had them computer balanced. Ten bucks a piece I think. After that I have not balanced at all. No problems on a 1,000 mile round trip north and west and round trip home. I had her up to around 95 once and no balance issue. AVONS are the tire for me.     Yes, that is right sir. The pledge will get you through. Cause as my experience as taught me, there is nothing that actually helps unless your running 55 - 60 mph in a slow mist. The hard rain will put you in under a gas station roof or on the side of the road to wait it out anyway if your smart. Now for a 4 wheeling vehicle. The rain X is awesome. I used it on my pick up windshield for the first time in a down pouring rain on the way to Lake Cumberland pulling a boat at night (early morning 1 AM). I knew there where thunderstorms forecasted and possible tornadoes. I told the other two fellows from church that also where going along for the fishing trip. I then past them on the interstate with no windshield wipers on. They said they could not see at all with their wipers on full blast. We had CBs in our vehicles. A tornado was coming and we got off at a local filling station and they had locked up because of the weather, but let us in and everyone got into the back of the station for a while until the storm past. The tornado killed one in that area. It was about 10 years ago. So that is my experience. Fuzzy

    Your welcome my friend. I really did not realize that you where the one I sold the bars to, until I had made the post. I then figured it out. I had to go back to my PayPal account and look you up. I know I really love my new Flanders. They say the RSTD bars on a Venture are the same affect. So I hope all goes well. I had to readjust my bars after a short ride just the night before a 1,000 mile round trip. Glad I did, I loved them. Mark the center of the bars and also a line horizontal at the middle attaching area. This will give you a reference when you adjust the bars. You may have to readjust as I, and when you do, you will be glad you have the reference marks. I marked mine with a Sharpy black permanent marker. Fuzzy

    I finally got my new design on my web site for anyone interested. The site is a work in progress for now and I have more pictures to put up when I can. I have the Vertical 1 1/4" Stinger Flag Mount available now and also the regular Horizontal Mount, but in a different design. I am also in the progress of building the mounts to work with the Diamond R Hitch. Coming very soon. Thank you all for your orders so far and putting up with me doing this. I am trying to keep them as affordable as possible for all the PGR members and other groups. I will try to get them up here in the Members Vendors area ASAP. The prices will be the same as my web site. Note; These will not fit the Hitch Doc with the 1 1/8" stinger/receiver hitch.     Sorry the pictures where not that great. I didn't mention that I forgot my video/camera at home. I had to use my old cell phone. I felt so stupid when we got about 100 mile from home and I realized I had forgotten it. JD had an I-phone and it took good pictures and really good video to.     Punch your GPS in to avoid the traffic. Sometimes do the shortest instead of fastest distance will also get you on the back roads and out of the traffic. I have found that a decent GPS is really a good piece of traveling information/tool. Just learn about all the neat features in your GPS. But do not leave with out a good old map. Fuzzy

    Go to Wally World and go to the bicycle section. There you may find a bottle holder with two Velcro straps and a zipper. Strap it to the front side of your rear bag guard next to the reflector but not blocking it. I put one strap on each side of the reflector. I am going to get me another one for the other side. Black and grey and work very well. I can reach mine with just a little stretch. $10.00 I think. I also use it to keep my sun glasses in/on the bike after riding to work. So double duty. I saw some bicycle bags that looked interesting to. One looked like it would fit,well ???????? Maybe not.     Yes, hydrate. While riding you are loosing a lot of moisture through the air across your body and face. Dangerous and you may not realize it until it is to late. I just got back from a pretty hot ride through the southern part of Michigan and down through the middle of the whole state of Indiana. We where riding right through the highest heat index on the weather maps. It was very hot and dry. We took water along in medium size coolers as always and stopped often for hydration. Another good thing that I do is use a hankercheif soaked with the melting ice water from your cooler. Putt it around your neck and tie it very slightly. Works real well and really helps keep the heat at bay. I am thinking about getting me one of those store bought things to do this with. The cowboys from the west desert used hankercheifs to keep cool and other uses, and it works. You would be amazed at the road dirt that collects on you and especially anything wet while traveling on a motorcycle in hot dry conditions. My T-shirt was wet around the collar from the hankercheif and was so dirty that it looked as if I had not changed shirts in a week at 5 PM that evening at the hotel. Fuzzy

    Looks like you all had a great time Dennis. Sorry I could not come. We had plans that went the other direction this year. Me and JD have been doing Memorial Day rides for a long time now. It is our week end to take off extra work and go. We went North this year to Ohio first. I was not really sure I could even make a long trip, but did OK with the shoulder. This has been the hardest thing for me to get healed up. Shoulder surgery is tough if you ask me. I am still having pain and but I am so glad to be able to ride again. I carried my side arm the whole trip, and got a lot of good comments. We avoided Illinois on our trip, they are not to friendly about side arms. I posted about our ride to. Nice pictures from you and Joe. Thanks for sharing. I am sure you had some good food. ANY FISH ???? Fuzzy

    My friend JD Holbrooks and I just got back today from a trip that we planned back in December of last year. We rode just a few miles shy of 1,000 miles since last Friday evening. We had a good time and I really enjoyed the ride. I love my new Flanders bars and my Stainless cables. The bars seemed to be low at first here at the house on a short ride. So Thursday night I raised them and and left out Friday around 2 PM. They where just right and made a big difference for me. I also had the foam grip add ons over the grips. We got up around Lake Erie on Saturday and I took the foam grips that stretch over bar ends off. They where to beefy for me.They made my hands feel like they had to much in them. So then the rest of the trip was even better after that. We rode over into Michigan and down to Clearwater, Michigan and spent the night at a Holiday Inn Exp. A very nice hotel and tell Brittany Hi from me. Very very very clean hotel. Brittany was so nice and I had to call her back to find the hotel even with the GPS, we where both lost. Kinda hard to see and find. Right beside interstate 69 on the south side behind Ky Fried Chicken and a great big leafy tree blocking the only sign. I ran across a fellow on down in Indiana as we headed south. The fellow said he knew about the Venture Rider Site and that he knew a fellow back where he lived in Northern Michigan that had a 1st Gen and that he belonged here on the site ??????. Would have been smart for me to remember his name though, sorry. This fellow had two bikes, one he had bought for his ex-wife (Victory maybe) and another that he was pulling a pop up tent trailer with, a Harley. He worked with the company some selling the pop up tent motorcycle trailers. The square ones that keep you up off the ground. A nice trailer. [ATTACH]67813[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]67814[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]67815[/ATTACH] MY Bike and Lake Erie.....My friend JD Holbrooks and his Harley RK.....Me and my bike and the lake. Ohio Rt 6 and Rt 2 along the lake and across the bay up around Port Clinton I think it was. The weather was really cool around Lake Erie. Michigan was just right but really really really dry. Indian north was hot and dry, south was nice. We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Madison,Indiana last night. Nice, and very very clean hotel. Came home this morning. [ATTACH]67816[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]67817[/ATTACH] I rode in some of the flattest country I have ever rode in my life, Indiana cornfields for miles and miles. JD will lead sometimes, but 90% of the time I am leading because he wont do it. He does seem to get us lost easy, but who cares, where riding. Indiana Rt 3 South. I am so glad to be able to be back on the bike. I had some shoulder issues, hence the surgery, not to bad at all on the trip. I did Physical therapy while on this trip. I carried a big plastic coat hanger to do my therapy with. We had a great time. Good to be back riding. Fuzzy
