  11. Most of the day traffic trough Chicago is fly away. Just avoid rush hour, as probably every large city has from 7am-9:30am and 3;30 PM trough 6-30PM. Any time in between if fly, however, this does not include weather related traffic. Good advice is to get one of toll road prepaid devices as iPass, EZ Pass or ePass. All of them are acceptable trough tool boots and open road toll. Man that can speed up travel trough Chicago big time. More info can be found here: http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/road/illinois-tollway.htm Chicago north side is safe to pull and gas up, stay away from south side of Chicago, you may find yourself in not so friendly neighborhoods. Any oasis along expressway are safe. Other recommended route is Lake Shore Drive and go trough Chicago's downtown Michigan Avenue in early morning or weekends. Good luck.

  16. Hey Wingers, just to give you heads up for GW recall. Check out this article: 126,000 Honda Goldwing motorcycles recalled for brake problems Dec 7, 2011 1:45 PM Honda and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have issued a recall alert for approximately 126,000 Goldwing motorcycles. The company has identified an issue with the motorbikes' secondary brake master cylinders that may cause the rear brakes to drag, increasing the risk of a collision. Riding a motorcycle with a stuck rear brake may also generate enough heat to cause a fire. According to Honda, the brake issue affects GL1800 Goldwing motorcycles of the 2001 through 2010 and 2012 model years. In January, the company expects to being notifying affected Goldwing owners to bring their motorcycles to Honda dealers. Mechanics there will inspect and, if necessary, replace the secondary master cylinder free of charge. For more information on the recall, which Honda has identified as S03, consumers can call Honda customer service (toll-free: 866-784-1870) or visit the NHTSA website: http://www.SaferCar.gov. 17. Preserving watt's is a key to run heated clothing. I have successfully run 2 full sets of heated clothing. 1- replace turn signal / break light bulbs with LED 2- Disconnect carb heaters when you using heated clothing 3- Turn off passing lights ( if you have installed) 4- Get Volt meter installed. Good Luck
  18. Well just my 2c if you considering to downsize to Tour deluxe or victory cross country or whatever, just one more suggestion , Stratoliner or Deluxe is really good choice. They are set new standards for cruisers, and 1.9 L engine is bulletproof. they have couple glitches, but easy to fix yourself. Pro's: Love power, comfort, leg room and handling. which is most important for riding Cons: fuel capacity 4.7 Gallons = range between refueling. Take 5 qt of oil for change. 3 oil drain plugs. Engine is like owner... Need a lot of lubrication.. well i use beer for my Good luck
  19. Skid, take away his squad car and giv'em Venture,

  23. I need pair of new shoes for my Stratoliner, anyway i will buy here or from other MC online store. Does those guys with banners on top of the page offer any discount for VR members, or do any good for site, and if so do I have to enter any promo code? Love ya all.
  24. Another Happy Strat rider. Not all the bells and whistles as Venture, but one very well build bike. Only downside (If I can say down) is rear tire wear. due to to much torque, rear tire doesn't last long. But dark side is always option. Have my car tire installed At FreeBird's maintenance day few years back, and still hold strong. Well Bill see ya at Vogel with Strat.
  25. Sure, why not? Are you coming Dan?
