  1. I wish I could join you but this weekend is pretty much booked up, it's supposed to be nice this weekend not real warm but sunny.
  2. Thanks for the help, I say that info on the Kawi forum and the 5 pin is the same but the 8 pin is not. I'm on my way to a computer store to see what I can come up with. I think I may have found why I couldn't get the mic to work. The lower cable that I have which is a factory J&M one but for a different model does not have all 8 pins hooked up. The one wire for the mic is in the harness but it was not soldered in place. So with any luck that was my problem but I have totally cut the wire to pieces so I still want to replace it but I needed to know why it wasn't working. I'll post how I make out and I will also post all the pinouts just incase another cheapo like me wants to know in the future.
  3. So your telling me this is not going to be easy. I can't believe I can't find any pinout info for any J&M products, just about every other headset I can find them but not J&M. Good for them they have been able to keep it a secret which is not easy this day and age.
  4. Thanks that's the one end covered now I need the other end of the cable and what pin on the 8 pin end matches up with which pin on the 5 pin end.
  5. I'm looking for a pinout diagram for a J&M headset. I have an universal headset that has an 8 pin mini DIN connector and I need to have a 5 pin DIN for the bike. J&M uses an 8 pin mini on the headset and then uses a short 8 pin upper cable. Then you just purchase the lower cable that matches your bike so the lower cable will have a 8 pin mini DIN at one end and a 5 pin DIN at the other I need to know what pin goes to each other. It's for a 2008 RSV and yes I know I should just go buy a new lower cord but it's the principal of it just to say I can do it.
  6. What does this gear change do to the fuel mileage?
  7. 1978 called and they want their cassette deck back. LOL.
  8. Ok its my turn, stereo's been acting up on and off for a couple of weeks now but it really got bad on the weekend. It only seems to happen when I have been listening to it fairly loud and it gets warm and then i hit a bump, from that point on it acts up until it cools down. It will turn on / off the display will fade then the CB will turn on/off and the speakers will crackle then the station will change all kinds of goofy things. 2008 RSV 5300 miles.
