  1. Doesn't it look a lot like the Stratoliner Deluxe? Plus, I never buy a motorcycle without a cassette player. Glenn
  2. In 1984, I got rid of my beautiful 1982 black with gold pinstripe GL1100 Interstate when I finally decided that my wife, new daughter, and myself were not going to be able to safely ride it at the same time. In May of 2008, when my youngest daughter graduated High School, I decided I was too young to own another Gold Wing so I went out and bought a younger persons bike........ a 2008 RSV. Congratulations on the baby. I love to ride but wouldn't swap a day with my children for a day of riding. When the time is right, there'll be another RSV waiting for you. Stick around, it'll keep you up to speed for when you get your next ride and besides, I may need some help next time I go through Cinncinatti. Glenn
  3. Yep! I'd pick up deer hunting again if I could do it like that. Glenn
  4. I take it this is an annual event. I would love to go, but like some of the others, I have to work too. However; I can plan for it next year. It seems interesting and sounds like a lot of fun. Glenn
  5. That's the one I seen cept it was a Campbell's Soup commercial. Way to go!!! Glenn
  6. Seen a Campbell's Soup comercial tonight on TBS East that had a RSV with rider and passenger waving at the camera. It was about a 30 sec commercial, but showed the RSV for only a few seconds. Was that you and your wife? Glenn
  7. Thanks everybody. I'll get it off the ground and check the steering head bearing tightness. Once again, you fellow members have come through for me. Thanks Again, Glenn
  8. My driveway has a slight curb on it and is slightly uphill going into the drive. I've noticed that when I pull into my driveway and come up the slight curb, the front end feels like it is wobbling. So, when I got into the garage I planted both feet on the floor and shook the front end and it "wobbled." Never noticed this before. It rides and handles good. is this normal? Glenn
  9. I absolutely love the looks of the Ultra and wanted one BAD! When my youngest child graduated high school, I went immediately to buy one (my last bike was a GW Interstate in the mid 80's). I stumbled out of the HD dealership, suffering from sticker shock, right into the Yamaha dealership across the road and bought the first RSV I seen on the floor. At nearly half the price of the Ultra, I was tickled. Would I pay the price asked for a 2011 RSV? NO WAY! I love the RSV, but someday would like to own an Ultra. I'll keep the RSV, of course. But would still love to have an Ultra. Glenn
  10. Got back from Tail of the Dragon at Deal's Gap, NC. Spent 3 days down there riding in the mountain twisties with my Kumho on the rear and Perelli MT 66 on the front. It was a 5.5 hr ride to get there and rode all day to get back. I can honestly say I had no problem with the CT at all on the trip. I don't know how it would have handled with a MC tire on the rear, but I do know I had no problems with the CT. The mountains were absolutely beautiful. I plan on making this a yearly trip. Glenn
  11. I was just in Princeton on Monday. I occasionally mow a cemetery out there where some of my wife's folks are buried (She was born in Indy and raised in Princeton). You went through some of the best whitetail deer hunting area, ever, on Hiway 91 through Marion, KY up to the ferry that crosses the river to Cave In Rock. Some really good riding in Southern IL where you crossed river. Huge whitetails around there, also. Glenn
  12. Land Between the Lakes is right in my back yard. When did ya make this trip. Ya do it again, let somebody around here know. We may come out to see ya. Glenn
  13. Is there any way to check wear on front brakes without pulling them? I've got 29,000 miles on them and they still work fine. Don't know how many miles you can get out of them. Glenn
  14. Me Too!!! My heart sunk!!! Congratulations to your son and may ya have many, many years of good riding together. Glenn
  15. I use the Garmin 765T and I love it. Its not waterproof but a plastic sandwich bag slippe over it works like a charm. Rode it in some real "pumpkin floaters" with a baggy on it and can see it and work the touch screen just fine. I blue tooth my phone to it, download music to it or to an SD card and plug it in. Its great. Glenn
  16. Glad to hear you're home. Now don't forget your commitment to get healthy. Glenn
  17. Congratulations!!!! I've raised 3 boys and 3 girls, and would have raised 10 boys to each girl if given the choice.:stirthepot: And the girls still give me a headache. At least you get to start out with the easy ones first. Glenn
  18. Welcome to Kentucky!!! Home to good whiskey, pretty horses, and fast women,.....er..., something like that. Hope ya's time here gets better. Hate to see you start out with motorsickle problems right from the get go. Anyway, welcome. If you get to the western part of the state, look me up. Numbers in the contact list. Glenn
  19. Glad you're okay. Can you give us a little feed back for those of us who live in high deer populated areas i.e., did you have time to brake, speed, side impact or T-boned the deer in the middle, etc. Thanx, Glenn
  20. Taking 90 degree curves at 90 mph and burn outs when the light turns green will do that for ya. Gonna have to slow down (he,he,he). Glenn
  21. I've probably read the reason for reversing a M/C rear tire when put on the front, but I don't remember the reason. Could someone please enlighten me on the reason to do this. Thanks, Glenn
  22. In my humble opinion, I'd get another tire and start over. The tire shop that I ordered mine from and put mine on got nervous trying to set the bead. The last pressure they took was 80 lbs. They had an old tire cage they used back in the day, and they put it in there and put the air to it. The manager said if I was willing to let it go he'd set it or blow it. Glenn
  23. Did you replace the bearings or just the grease? If you replaced the bearings, what model and size did you use. I'm looking at buying one of these trailers also. Thanks, Glenn
  24. They'd really go nuts figuring out the rivers here in Paducah. The Tennessee, Cumberland, and Clarks river flow north into the Ohio river, which flows from east to west and then not far from here, the Ohio flows into the Mississippi river, which then flows North to South.(Whew!!!!) Glenn
  25. Been reading with great interest beings what my front Avon Venom is about ready to be replaced. I had considerable wobble at first, but now after about 6K, I have not noticed a wobble in a long time. I think I'm going to go with the MT66 Route rear tire and reverse it for the front. I'm also running the Kuhmo on the rear. Glenn
