19 for an 08! I saw the 09 Strat Tourer at the local dealer for $11,440. White and Silver two tone. They had an additional $4400 off of the sale price. We couldn't believe the price. My good friend bought a 09 Raider. I was looking at it and then someone walked up and said "I bought it"! OK..as I backed away. hh

2000 miles on my 08. Sad huh? hh

Yamaha Service REALLY is a pain
hoghead replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
3/8 by 3/4 inch NC thread. I found button head bolts (ace hardware) which look much better. I used a inside star lock washer. Can't think what they are really called. Inner lock washer maybe? Not sure of the stock metric bolts. hh -
I'm going to be in the area around the middle of May. I like the size and the look of this sidecar. Problem would be is there any way it could/would work on a RSV? I know so little and want one so bad. hh http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/mcy/1700009499.html

Yamaha Service REALLY is a pain
hoghead replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
When I installed the light bar extension bracket I re-tapped the bolts and used some lock tite blue. Worked fine. It's hard to get a tap into the mounting holes in the forks. You might try removing the fairing so as to get a better angle and grip on the bolt. Yeah, I agree with you. I don't let Yamaha touch anything on my ride unless absolutely necessary. They dented my gas tank and then would not admit it. Mother Yamaha got a nice letter also. I got stuck buying a new tank. Not cheap. Will never buy anything from Ridenow Powersports. hh -
Using it for years. hh

How did I end up on the RSV? Oh, that's right. The wifey. I wanted the Stratoliner. Still do. The Deluxe is to die for IMO. I told the little lady if you are not comfortable on the back seat it's a no go. She tapped me on the shoulder and said "what about this?" (pointing like they do) The rest is history. (still want a stratoliner ) hh

Yup. Talked about that in the article. 15% is a good rate of return huh? Harley-Davidson Financial Services, the consumer lending arm at Harley, needs about $1 billion in funding this year to continue providing new motorcycle loans to its customers. It also has a $500 million bank advance that’s due in March. hh

I believe it's checking but could not swear to it. Using a separate account is a good idea although I have had no problems using PayPal. tt

The Cycle World article touched on that. Then, a new CEO took charge and said build 500 thousand of them. Also stated "why are we selling sportbikes?" (Buell) Add to that HD had a lot of money to loan. They financed everyone, good or bad. Talked with my Yamaha salesman and he said years ago he could not get financing for most customers but HD could. Even with a low credit score. Everybody was going to ride a Harley! Not so. They have to cut production. No one is buying them. During the first quarter of 2010, worldwide dealer retail sales of new Harley-Davidson motorcycles decreased 18.2 percent compared to the prior-year quarter. In the U.S., retail sales of new Harley-Davidson motorcycles declined 24.3 percent for the quarter and industry-wide heavyweight motorcycle (651cc-plus) retail unit sales declined 21.4 percent. hh

Rest in Peace. hh

I agree. Local HD dealership has the same attitude as you have experienced. I spent 40 minutes drinking a cup of coffee and not one person acknowledge my presence. Had the money to buy anything there. Unbelievable. There was a very interesting article concerning the Buell and it's demise in last months issue of Cycle World. HD has been taking a bath for quite sometime due to several Management decisions. hh

Has anyone used jake wilson for tires

I believe the Dunlop Coupon's expired. At least I couldn't find them. hh -
Had a 99 myself and really liked it. Are you getting the Interstate model? The reason I ask, if you are not getting the IS order up some Interstate Carburetor springs. They are lighter and make a world of difference on the standard models. Easy to do and very inexpensive. Much quicker throttle response. The springs were lighter due to the additional weight of the Interstate. Enjoy the new ride! hh
