WindRiver Thermalectric Rechargeable Heated Boots
Zfrebird4 replied to friesman's topic in Watering Hole
Boots look great, that I never have cold feet with what I have. I DO have cold fingers due to my age of 71, so I need a rechargable glove that heats in the finger as well as the rest of the hand. Any guidance on this guys and gals? Thanks. JackZ:Venture:- 7 replies

Thought the site might be interested in info contained on the following help from St. Jude to a military mother on her return (I think mother) finding her son seriously ill. Here's the site as I copied it today on the news: (Hope it works) http://www.tg.stjude.org/patients/max/?tngsourcecode=THWAOLDO11&plt=THWAOLDO1112&icid=main%7Chtmlws-main-n%7Cdl10%7Csec1_lnk3%7C185815 Jack Z:Venture:

luck and goo drviving habits: ... and none since I took the safety course (already had the license) and I ride with electronic air horns, police (Yellow) strobe lights front and side (need one in rear) ... white helment and cop looking jacket and pants. They do see me. And of late I am doing another deal at lane stops or turn lanes: I slightly angle the bike giving them a larger view and causing them to think, ... is he coming my way? It worked so far. Thoughts? JackZ aka Jack Tharp DePreach

My next big expense will be an electric deer horn, the Hornet V-120, ca $70 the last I looked and $20 for harness. 120dB wave carry length18,000-21,000 Hz; effective range, 800 ft; operating voltage range, 8-16 VDC, with a current consumption of 10mA (max) at 12 VDC. www.safehomeproducts.com/SHP2/sc/asp_redirector.asp?rdirurl=/shp2/sc/shopexd (at least that was the link when I looked at it on 6/10/06). In Ohio on my first 86 VR I drove THROUGH a deer, and stayed up. LOTS of brown stuff on right luggage rack; new front plastic, headlight (cut her throat, a rather small young deer), .... and a new radiator. Then I rode some more. In W Co E of Paonia a young deer jumped on my front tire, and that time I stayed down. I was doing about 20 MPH and had no warning. For a young deer these VRs can drive through them; for a buck, .,.. if time and turning permits, .... you can RUN! Yep it's time to spend $100 next spring. In CO they are seldom on the road in the winter and in winter I ride down and not too high up. Stay safe all! JackZ aka DePreach:thumbsup:

NOT EVERYONE makes it to 29, and few to 50 or 70 any more. Sounds like you are well trained by your Lady. Have a great ride and keep hoping for the weather breaks. When I lived in Blacksburg, VA, I could usually count on an average of one per week! ENjoy! And, My singleness makes me green with envy! Cassette Deck, why do you have a problem with MORE options?
Zfrebird4 replied to LilBeaver's topic in Watering Hole
In fact, I have two others I bought here on this site and plan to rebuild them. At a young age of 71 I have cassettes that are favorites. And in the Rockies here getting a strong station is had sometimes, so the cassette solves the problem. And I do want to keep it as it is original equipment just as I am. LOL. Yep, a CD player would be nice though, and when the is here I will hope to have one installed somewhere on the bike. Just my humbles. JackZ aka Jack Tharp Ft Collins, CO PS I do plan to ride tomorrow! And Trail Ridge Road is STILL open at 14,000 feet! Jz -
places traveled. That was where it came from. Click some of the other travel maps on the site and it might get you there. Have a great! JackZ

... and no matter what air pressure, I've had cupping on the rear. Wrench started me out with 52, then upped it to 56, and still cupping; went to 58, still cupping; will try 49 and ride that awhile; almost 10,000 on it and the center is down quite a bit. Front still looks like new and is older than the rear. Will be replacing the rear soon with Avon Venoms or Dunlap III, recommended by friend Squidley to me. Good luck; yes, I too watch that rear for cracking and cips out ... weekly! JackZ Ft Collins, CO

On the flats of CO, ca 82-85; up at 14,000 feet (east and up from Estes Park) it was in the low sixties. Only problem was the tundra was all brown from drout. Until now, it was just too dangerouls due to road repaving; all done to the center on top. I hope to make it at least one more time before the snow ball fights start. Ahh, COLORADO. I just do NOT plan to move. Regardless, let's all have a safe fall and winter, till we can meet again in CO. JackZ aka Jack Tharp Ft Collins:missingtooth:
