lost one of mine of two and can't buy as a part; IT's a J&M full-face headset, part # 218127. If I can't find one will use some foam cut to fit the hole! LOL. Thanks all! Jack Z

The First Gen I have now from Squidley ... is my second one! I only have 83,000 on her and still can do a long ride and keep LOTS of money in my pocket! The point? This is my Second one! The first was bought in 1986, loved it, ... and after 6 yrs off decided to buy another one. Glad Squidley's Lonna let him sell her to me (the bike, I mean!). AND ... I am still interested in finding out who that was in my neck of the woods! JackZ PS ... and yep, I still enjoy :cool10:the humor from the 2nd Gens ... who have larger files on their scoots due to such an increase in repair bills! I here they often drive this way: Jz

I know your move kind of weighted heavy leaving all your VR friends behind. Glad you had some of the fellowship. Hugs to you Both. And still going strong on Zfrebird! And I hope to see you sooooooon! JackZ:cool10: -

I had two whiplashes in moxes in 1965 & 66, ... and now at 72 :mustache:the neck is really touchy, bothersome. I cannot imagine how at being shoved forward ca 30 ' you did not get a whiplash effect; so I urge you to check that out. Sorry if someone has already posted this suggestion; did not read all the post. Dumb driver was probably hormonally distracted! Glad you were ok. Now get back on! LOL. Jackz -
Light cream on gold, I think; parked S sice of Rt 34 Saturday 7/17, in Lyons before stop sight to the west on N. One way. Any ID? It was VERY nice to see another VR, and it was an 85+ (or is it 86), and naturally in prime condition! Was this you? If so, please replay and let's ride! Jack Zfrebird4 of Ft Collins.

I know you feel bad for your wife; so glad she came out of it ok. My 1st gen VR is 780 lbs empty, so I REALLY stay away from any gravel, even on top of paved side sections as much as possible; boots h elp, non slip. Prayers for healing, and joy for your next ride together! Jack Z

Yep I have a spare key; and I keep money in my heavy gloves (with me year round) in the zipper compartment that holds the waterproof pullover mitten. Best to be prepared as much as possible. Nice tips here. Thanks all. Jack Z Yep, gang, let's ride in any direction except .... UP too soon, and NEVER down!

... those extra touches I miss :fingers-crossed-emofrom 35 years of (two marriages) marrital training. Some of the training might have been pensively lost though, due to high winds (both kinds) :no-no-no:and heavy :depressed:rains, or :no-no-no:something! JackZ

... with prayers of rejoicing. I had that same experience with my second X-wife; first comment, ....'are you all right?' Didn't give a darn about anything else for those 15 years. JackZ

1986 from Squidley and Lonna, and lovin every mile of it. I've put 32,000 on since they turned Zfrebird4 over to me in 2006. Minimal maintenance; finally had to replace the starter, and that was the biggest item. Let's all keep um until they start makin em again! JackZ ... and they ride well in any direction except UP and DOWN!

No major problems with T-Mobile. AND FOR THE HEARING IMPARIED WHO RIDE: I now use a unit called iCOM that picks up a call from the cell phone and throws it into my hearing aid, where the electronic sounds is adjusted for my tonal hearing looses or deficits. Cost: $290; will do voice recognition IF your cell phone does; either, it will call your last number back by two pushes on the button. It is MP3 adaptable, so THAT is where I will soon be listening to my music on a Sony - Walkman 16GB. Best Buy is the best price at $99.99, and it will play FM. So give me a call and if I'm riding I'll be able to say, 'I hear ya,' .... if I'm NOT in our beautiful CO Canyons. And yep, as all know, it works great 'on top of the world' on Trail Ridge Road, .... which (itching now) .... will be opened in May! I'll be there. JackZ:Venture:

Filled up Saturday after a delightful 150 mile run to Estes Park and back; then Yesterday I got on 50 miles along the foothills. Rain today; Sat and Monday will be great and out days. Current mid-grade price: $3.509. If it reaches $4 I'll empty the luggage racks for shopping, park the old 92 Buick, except for sever winter rain, hail, lightening and snow storms in the summer! How will gas prices affect my riding? I breath, so I plan to ride (until I can't any more). Enjoy the rubber down! JackZ The Pint: ANY direction will do as long at is it not straight up or straight down! LOL

Wrote in the name my my gas station. However, I did enjoy one gallon today (as a weee bit more) for 50 miles of lovely Colorado weather. We're supposed to have it all week and through the weekend. Meantime: Wave the bucks good bye, and have a great week riding soon. JackZ:Venture:

slipping problem if it is similar to mine. On my 86VR when I am in 5th and hit 4th or especially 3rd hard while ca 50 mph, I get a slight slip until it catches up and then it is bye bye! I can grind competely out from a stop through all gears. Just thought I would ask. Please reply here or at Zfrebird4@aol.com, with subject as 'clutch slipping some,' etc. Thanks Jack Tharp :backinmyday:72 years young and still on two! Luvin it, as I just ride to live! Jz

Patriot Guard Riders are going to be in a big demand now
Zfrebird4 replied to polecat54's topic in Watering Hole
College? Seminary, or church ordained. Guys like him give those of us with proper training and credentials and our parishioners and potention new members a blind eye! I am retired; joined PR, but have not heard from them. And I need someone near FT Collins, CO., to help :fingers-crossed-emome in figuring out a flag pole holder for my 86 VR, and a proper flag. Best to all who posted; and thanks for allerting us to this overkill of commonsense by this pastor and chuch. PRs no doubt will build a shield around the emonstrators; all those flags of Old Beautiful should make them thanksful we let them speak! Just my 2 cents. JackZ -
:7_6_3[1]:This guy must have been fresh on in riding. Right though, it was at least an ugley bike. And he was riding too fast for conditions, too, and often rode through other shadowed areas he could have avoided. Here in CO this accident is one of the reasons I only ride in the foot hills till about the first of may. However, Sat > Tues, starting at 50 degrees and up to 57: Yep, I'm OUT and on. I also will be wearing full gear, as I do through the spring, summer and fall, except when to do so creates a dangerous heat zone. And when it's is REALLY hot I wear a T-shirt under a light zip up jacket soaked in water; I also soak my head. Then I gradually unzip, ... it's like air conditioning! But only up to 90. All stay up and well! And yep, I ride in all directions except up and down. LOL ' JackZ

I have been down 7 times, all minor, and BEFORE I took the now required state training course (though I had the license); I found I had no idea how to ride OFFENSIVELY. In this art there is no DEFFENSIVE riding, except for the escape routes. So glad you walked away. BTW, what was the name of your angel? May I call on her from time to time?? JackZ
