  1. I wear Cortex Jacket, air through mesh, and full safety pads. Rain causes me to add the zip in rain liner; cool causes me to ad to the rain liner the quilted inside liner. Extreme hot, Tshirt u nder all of that; otherwise a full length shirt. I also carry other Tshirts, short and long, to snung up underneath when the Colorado Mts change to cold in the evening. Same until extreme hot: FieldSheer full dress pans with safety pads; Zip in quilted liner in cool or cold weather. I always wear slacks. Full face top of the line helmet, always. Always: full length padded protecting gloves; when too hot, summer full finger riding gloves with full protective pads. Steel toed boots, always! If road rash gets me it will be because it got to 90 too quickly. I just don't plan to ride when it's that hot, or below 45. My safety instructor in the CO course said there does come those times when wearing too much protective gear in hot weather is as dangerous as wearing nothing. She applied that to the helmet, too. Surprised me. If it's that hot, I poor water on my head and Tshirts, then have a light zip up jacket fully zipped up; I gradually unzip it and it works just like AC. My 2cents worth. All stay up safe and well. JackZ:thumbsup:
  2. ... at what all I see posted here. LOL. Of course out of each post I DO learn a little something. Have a great gang. Stay ups and ride in the good weather; my scoot is in the shop, and I am hope to get her out before the weekend. JackZ
  3. I know it's been a long wait for you! Keep riding. JackZ
  4. ... for the crosses on the brown. JackZ
  5. ... well, just embarassing! Glad he will be ok though, and the bike as well! JackZ
  6. ... you. DON'T EVER let me catch up with you except on two wheels! Ride, Brother, ride .... and let them follow those of us who have matured to near perfection. (Yup, I DID say NEAR ... perfection). And I swear I saw the Lord riding ahead of me the other day! Imagine how old he looked? LOL Jack Z YA, go for the gold! Jz
  7. ... and keep us posted! Enjoy. Jack Z
  8. ... great living with your face in the wind. Sometimes I think the Good Lord just has to let life happen it's own way with Him (or Her) not interferring ... and as a result he just builds us a little more tougher, to look more like those Philistines. LOL. Be well, safe and always up. And I will hope to meet you somewhere near my riding range in miles! JackZ
  9. I PMed you today with the measurements you wanted. Now you don't need them. I'll take the Black with the Celtic Cross, too. PM me or IM me (see my posted sight) on directions for Pay Pal Payments. Just hope all of this doesn't keep you so busy you can't ride. THAT would make all of us sinners! LOL. JackZ Jack Tharp Ft Collins, CO Anxious to get mine, .... too! Jz
  10. ... for healing, and riding again soon! As well, PRAYERS FOR JUSTICE that this young lady can learn the horror of her error, which is not slighted or reduced by her age at all. Thanks for posting, and keep in touch with all of us as your forever larger family. JackZ:fingers-crossed-emo
  11. ... PRAYERS for healing for those injured, for peace for the families of those who died, and for WISDOM in our law enforcement agencies, including the courts. DOT failed all of us with this driver in it's laws. He deserves a life sentence for everyone he killed, and more additional for such tragic injuries. IS IT TIME? ... >>> for all of us to ride on Washington, or somewhere, to alert those incharge of envorcement in our courts, etc., to REALLY .... do there jobs, ... IN ADVANCE of such accidents due to driver negligence? Just my 2cents worth. Jack Z
  12. ... PETITIONS for healing and all help and blessings for the surgeons and all with their care. ... PAYERS OF THANKSGIVING ... for the healing and good news that exists. The Good Lord love both, ... and by names! JackZ aka DePreach:bighug:
  13. Read it allllll! Thanks, sent this to my oldest son who is wondering at my 71 years YOUNG when I'll give up my 86 VR that KEEPS me young! I told him when I give up the scoot I am buying one of these in the convertible model! THAT should keep him quieter for awhile. I'll donate a keg for you when you two share beer. I am SURE it'll take that much! LOL. JackZ :whistling:sure hope I get one om 20 years:
  14. 40-45 MPG; course I don't, very often, floor it! Sometimes I have too though, just to hear that beautiful V-4 and enjoy those left behind in the dust! LOL Jack Z
  15. Tell her to use her good hand in that slapping thing. LOL JackT
  16. And what a terrible accident; sorry the old folks were involved as well; many serious injuries there. I also pray the 'box' driver has learned something and will pay dearly for his or her mistakes. It only takes a second. Still, I WILL NOT give up my greatest love in life at this time! JackZ Jack Tharp Ft Collins, CO
  17. ... AFTER I have moved myself beyond their range. One tried to push me to the curb in N Denver, and I dropped back, OFFENSIVELY, then in the inside lane passed him in his turn lane he wanted at the price of my life, and hit my air horn and did a repeated thumbs up! Got his attention I presume, didn't waste my safety looking. Anyone know of a system that is electric with a button on the dash that makes the sound of a 45 going off? THAT would be VERY effective. Ride safe, up and alert all. IT IS STILL our world! And it is perfect on our 2 wheels. JackZ
  18. I have thanked God for my helmet in all of my downs. They are inevitable even when we are driving our best, defensively. I remember my first amature dump of my precious 650 Yamma in the drive way, full dressed bike; nice starter one. My fault all the way. Wifie comes out and says are you ok? I said, 'Forget about me, the bike won't heal!', .... BUT IT DID with a little help. LOL. Heal well, get on again, send pictures and hang it up to experience. Hope the driver got a huge ticket! Stupid guy! JackZ Good driving on your part, too; you made the RIGHT decision! Jz
  19. BEST BUY and others sell a no wire pick up speaker & mike that links to our cell phone. We who wear hearing aids cannot were them along with a Blue Tooth, so this is one of our solutions. Just my $0.02's worth. AND I am so glad the enforcement is coming! Yea! :clap2:..the guy who rides in all directions, except down, and though I am ready to go any time UP I am in no hurry! JackZ
  20. ... and of gratitude. Thank you one and all for serving for those of us at home. JackZ
  21. ... one lane each way; long slow travel = delay. My 18-wheeling son went through this afternoon and they were making good progress on the other two lanes. No one was injured in the slide. Some rocks were the size of the cab on an 18-wheeler. I think earlier someone here posted I-80 was closed, and it was; just wanted folks who needed to know to understand it is now open one lane each way. JackZ
  22. based on two new knees (limited walking endurance) and my hearing (not on what is heard with aids but without). And I have a handicap parking plate and stickers in my car and on the 86 VR. I seldom use handicaps though, but with my gray hair few have given me any negatives. Lucky I guess. And I agree with all handicaps who ride, ... it is the ONLY time I feel ageless, in other words , ... y o u n g!! So ... let's all go for the gold! Ride up and happy and long and hard and safe!~ JackZ
  23. :)Yep I like the tank lines and the extra chrome on the side of the front fender too. Rubber up, and enjoy, with your Lady behind or beside on her own. JackZ
  24. ... Colorado. I ride them as often as I can at the age of 71. Still, though, at times I scoot 14 east out of Ft Collins and enjoy those flat lands for a few miles, stop, light up the pipe with aromatic pipe tobacco (none of that green stuff) ... and just kick back on the center stand and enjoy the silence and long, long views. Little traffic. And on a still day I can often hear children play at a farm about 3+ miles away. Still, though, ... ZIPP back to the Rockies. Of course, all of us enjoy riding where ever we are, right? All stay up and safe! Jack Tharp Ft Collins
  25. he has a lot of parts and may have one out. .. JackZ:thumbsup:
