  1. Those connectors are the same as the old AT keyboard connectors from older computers. I paid a few dollars for one that was 2 or 3 feet long, but I can't remember where I got it. Might have been Radio Shack. It doesn't look to be as water tight as the one linked to above, but it hasn't been a problem yet. I just plug it in and lay the wire in the back seat. My wife then puts it where she wants it so it's easy for her to plug/unplug. When we are done, we unplug it and take it in with her helmet. It doesn't stay with the bike.
  2. If you will notice, the flag code prohibits the use of a flag patch on our vests. Our vests are not part of a uniform for the above mentioned organizations. That being said, would anyone like to try and rip the one off my vest? There are no penalties for violating civilian flag code and military flag code no longer applies to me. As far as I'm concerned, as long as the flag is displayed or worn in a respectful manner, I have no problem... disrespect it, and we do have a problem.
  3. jt... I haven't posted much to these threads because I just can't find the words. Just know that you two are in my thoughts and prayers every day.
  4. Let's see... an hour travel time to get to someone who will do motorcycle tires... an hour waiting for them to do the work... and hour drive back home... $20 in gas... $50 in labor. No thanks. I just pull out the HF tire changer. I don't have it bolted to anything. I use my feet and hands to steady it and mount/unmount the tires. And I can do both in the time it takes just to drive to the other place... and keep $60 to $70 after tax dollars in my pocket! I do like the idea of bolting it to a long 2x10 and parking the truck on it. That would make things easier.
  5. Wish I could have been here!
  6. For me, 400 is a good day. In this heat, drink lots of fluids. The wind and heat will suck you dry in a hurry. Don't just drink water. Replace all those electrolytes and stuff that you sweat out. When you stop at night... keep drinking. Get yourself well hydrated to start the next day. Oh... don't forget to have fun!
  7. You can get stock measurements here (about a 1/3 down the page). I haven't actually taken a tape to the bars, but according to the Flanders site the RSTD bars are 2" higher and wider with 2 1/2" more pullback. Center is 1/2" more at 8 instead of 7 1/2". You will need at least +2" over on throttle cables, upper clutch line, and upper front brake line. So far I would have to say I like them better than the stock or even the stock + 1 1/2" risers. I haven't tried the Flanders G2 that most folks use. I just wanted to try something different. I like the extra height. The width is a good fit for me, but it may put more wind on my hands than I want in the winter. I like the looks of bend angle off the tree... angled out some instead of straight up like the venture. Downside to that is I can't get at the 'cigarette' power supply in the fairing.... the bars block it. The pullback angle on the grip portion is a little more severe than I like, but not uncomfortable. I just like the flatter angle of the stock bars. Wish I had access to a real pipe bender! I still have the Barons 1 1/2" risers and I'm tempted to try those on these bars to see if I get the feel I'm looking for. Throttle cables might not be long enough though.
  8. I put the round vents in mine a few weeks ago. The tall, wide Clearview is a great winter shield, but I wanted more air on me this summer. I cut 2 inches off my stock shield and put two round pop-out vents in it. I don't get the same blast in the chest that the wing vent gave me, but the vents do get rid of that dead air space and the smaller shield lets more air hit my arms. I get a little more helmet buffeting, but not that bad.
  9. That is great news, JT. I needed a lift this evening and that news definitely put a smile on my face. We'll keep up the prayers... you keep the good news coming!
  10. Yep.. working fine this evening!
  11. I'm right down the road from you with the same results. Name won't resolve yet... used the ip address here too.
  12. I've put some miles on the bars now, including one 400+ mile day. I like what I have, but if I could custom bend some bars, I would take a couple of inches off the width and put a little less angle on the grips. That would reduce the pullback some, so I think I would also add another inch or two to the height and angle the bars back (lower them) a little more. I was afraid the angle on the grips might be uncomfortable, but I haven't found that to be the case. The extra width and height do put more wind on the hands. Last week, I cut two inches off my stock shield and put in a couple of round pop-out vents to make a summer replacement for the tall, wide clearview shield. I really get air on the gloves now! In the mornings, when my body is fresh, and I'm sitting tall and a little forward, the bars feel about perfect. In the evening, when I'm tired and slouching, I tend to sit lower and use the back rest more. When I do that, I still feel like I'm reaching a little, but not really enough to complain about. One of these days, I'm going to put those bars on the risers (if the cables still reach) and see what that feels like.

    Speed

If it is ads, google does use cookies that might be worth clearing. One is google.com and the other is googleadservices.com. Might try deleting that second cookie and see what happens.

    Speed

I hope you found it... for the sake of your sanity! But just in case... I've never had a 'speed' problem. Looking at the sidebar, most of the modules would be identical for all users. The buddy list and ad module could be different. Lots of buddies or none... online or off? The ads could be the results of slow dns lookups on the users side or maybe they are being served by a slow server. I expect we don't all get ads served up from the same ad server. Can you turn these modules on and off and see what happens. Maybe activate one at a time if the problem is there? Just some ideas.
  15. You keep posting... keep us informed. More prayers coming, my friend.
  16. Prayers said... more to come... won't stop until this is taken care of.
  17. According to my '05 owners manual, 10% ethanol is ok. From what I've read, you can expect reduced fuel mileage.
  18. Outstanding!... I think. Does this mean you will actually be able to see me now?
  19. I'm sure everything will go just fine, but I'll trow in a prayer anyway. My son was born with cataracts. Had both removed before the first grade. He was too young for implants so had to wear glasses. They made coke bottle bottoms look thin. Got his implants somewhere in his mid to late teens. He survived it all just fine.
  20. Hey JT, You could probably get away with slappin' me around. It don't happen often, and 90% of the time, I just let it slide right off... just don't get caught in that other 10%!
  21. Similar problems here. After two weeks and three phone calls all assuring me that the problem had been corrected and the item would be shipped the next day, I finally got someone who told me the truth. The item was steeply discounted because it was discontinued and they had run out an couldn't get any more. They would happily sell me the new model at 10% off list... which was still higher than other places. They had charged my credit card on the day of the order. With all the delays and run-a-round, they used that money for almost a month before they refunded it. I think they live off that float.
  22. I didn't see where they take credit cards like PayPal does... but I might have missed something. That would mean no credit card fees to absorb or pass on. As others have said, it looks a lot like an online checking account for doing online transactions. My bank doesn't charge any transaction fees on my checking account but does impose other fees for behavior they want you to avoid... a lot like this place. Doesn't mean I'm ready to trust them yet though. The only reason I would feel ok about doing business with a new brick and mortar bank is because of the FDIC insurance. One place I do trust (at least I trust it as much as I do PayPal) is Google Checkout and they do charge the seller less. PP is 2.9% + $.30 per transaction. Google Checkout is 2.0% + $.20 per transaction. That can add up to significant dollars.
  23. May 3rd is my wife's birthday. There are only a few days out of the year when I don't even try to make the decisions. May 3rd is one of them! Now she *might* tell me she wants to be left totally alone that day and I should just make plans to be somewhere else... but chances are I'll be real close to home that day.
  24. God shared this child with you and yours for almost 4 years before calling him Home. Now He will share His Peace and Strength with you and your family as you forward.
  25. jt... I'm beginning to think you are avoiding me! Every time you find out I'm going to be somewhere, you suddenly can't make it! One of these day's I'm just going to knock on your front door, shake your hand, and say "That's the meet part, lets eat!" . Then you can feed me. Might bring Squidley along and you can feed both of us... then you will really know the high price of gas. To those that weren't afraid to be in the same room with me (or didn't know any better), it was great to meet you. 10 or 15 more of these and maybe I'll be able to start putting names with faces! Don and Linda, thanks for pulling this together.
