Does anybody remember.....
Iowawegian replied to Iowawegian's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Just wanted to say thanks for all the input! I thought the spoiler looked nice but I don't want to buy anything flimsy. I'll take a look at the products you guys suggested. His birthday's in December so I've got some time. I also thought about headlight visors. Saw a guy in Wisconsin this summer with them on and boy, do they spruce up the bike!! Thanks again! -

I found the thread: Has anyone purchased this and would it fit on an 05 Venture with a luggage rack? http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?cat_id=1&menu=DMY%20Trunk%20Series&product_id=20&s=prod.php Thanks for any input!! -
a thread that was posted about a company that sold a bar with running lights that goes on the rear trunk behind the luggage rack. It was really inexpensive, around $30.00-$40.00, I think. I saw the post when I first joined back in May and thought it would be a good birthday present for Gary. Don't know what the thing a ma jig is called. :confused24:Spoiler? Anyway, if someone has a clue where that post is...

Before we hit the deer this summer, everytime I would ride with Gary, I could hear this screeching noise every time he'd squeeze the clutch. He's hard of hearing and could never hear it but it was loud enough that it was almost embarrassing coming up to a stop sign in town. Well, after we got the bike out of the shop in July, I didn't notice it. All of the sudden, last night it started again. The only thing I can think of, is we rode in the rain all last weekend. Could have that done it somehow? I'm so tempted to shoot a little wd40 on it, but don't dare. (I'm a weany trying to do things behind his back) Anyway, any suggestions?

Gary and I are headed to Southwest WI in the Wildcat Mt State Park area and Devils Lake Sate Park for a weekend alone!! Looking forward to it as we haven't had much "us" time. Anyone have any fun roads, pubs, places to visit? Probably going to hit Balltown, rode the Cassville Ferry last weekend (see Pix). Anyway, thought if anyone knew of any unusual places to visit, we'd check it out!

Last weekend...a couple of our sons, friends, my brother and his wife took a 3 day Winery tour! Have never posted pix before, but wanted to try it. The one is at New Diggins, WI and the other is crossing the ferry at Cassville IA. I just got the digital camera so I'm not very good at taking pix or downloading them yet.

Does that mean you will be wearing a leiderhosen once you move? :dancefool:If so, we all want pix!! Lucky you...I've always wanted to see the Alps! Have a safe trip!

They say that laughter helps people heal faster, and I belive it's true. Big Bob's Daughter is updating us all on the "Bad news from Canadian crew going to PIP" daily and she stated that she reads Big Bob the updates from that thread. What if anyone who has a funny joke puts it up on that thread so she can read it to him? It sounds like he is at a point where he is coming off some meds and is able to speak and understand a lot more clearly. Just thought some light hearted humor for him to enjoy might help him heal faster and pass the day more quickly. What do you think?

Just wanted you to know that your family are in our families thoughts and prayers nightly. You are a strong person and I know you'll get through all of this...I'm sure sometimes it seems as though it's never going to end, but it will. Please take some time for you and the hubby to get out and away from it even for just a few hours. Take care. -

"Just pretend you are a mounted stuffed animal and just lean as the bike leans. Got it?" Thanks Randya...I didn't quite know how to explain it and that's as easy as it gets.

Don't know what the rest of the passengers and or drivers, here will say....but here's my 2 cents for what it's worth. As far as the helmet.....I feel the same way as you with a full face. I've changed to a half helmet and that made a world of difference. I don't know enough about helmets to know if a full is a lot safer than a half...but someone else can speak on that. As far as leaning....we used to ride a V Star where I helped "lean". We purchased our Venture this spring and I learned really quick, that the best way to ride behind the driver is to stay put. Don't lean at all. Let the driver do the driving and just stay in an upright seated position. Your upper torso should mimic his and he won't do much leaning with the Venture. Even going around curves he wants me to stay upright. The bike is top heavy and leaning could throw his driving off. You have to be able to trust his driving in order to not panic. I ride my own my bike on short trips, so it's an adjustment for me to ride behind him on long trips, because I don't feel like I have the amount of control as when I drive. It will take a little getting use to riding it, but keep at it and in no time you will feel a lot more comfortable!
