Most of you know I don't have a computer at home, so I am on here during the day. Is it my computer or did we really have a whole bunch of new members sign up today? Inquiring minds want to know!

The hubby drives so slow, I actually have to tell him to speed up, to keep up with the flow of traffic.

I know this has been posted a million times, but for anyone reading this thread that has never been to the Black Hills but plans on going...... you have to do Iron Mountain Road, Needles Highway and Spearfish Canyon! Switchbacks, sweepers, and awesome views. They are a must! (They are shown on the map)

We didn't go through the residential.....because it had just rained really hard and those streets are reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally steep!!! I was scared we would start sliding backwards!! As were were on the main streets, I would look over and just get the heeby jeebies looking at them!

Hey Bryan!! Had a great time....but, I'm getting too old....we went cheap and decided to tent it for 4 nights! I'm starting to think I'm at an age where I should quit being so tight and spring for a real bed!!! After the 600 mile ride home yesterday, I'm pooped!

As long as I'm yakkin....have you ever been to Nemo? It's a beautiful road and a fun bar there also!

You'll go about 5 miles and see a green sign that just says "Rochford". On the map it says county road 17 but you won't see any road sign. Once you get on 17, it's 17 miles to get there. All other roads around there are gravel. Hope you can find it. If you've been out there, you know the Black Hills maps that you can get anywhere ? That's the map you want.

Got back home last night from the Black Hills....had a great time...just thought I'd share a pix of a place where we hadn't been before. It's a town (population....probably 3) called Rochford. You drive 17 miles in on blacktop, eat at the bar and drive 17 miles back out. The place was packed!

Craig, Glad to hear you guys are ok.....things like that happen so fast!!! We must have just missed you guys....Gary and I took off Thurs morning for the Black Hills and got back last night!!! 90 degrees first two days out there, then down to 67 degrees the next 2 days! Great riding though.

Saw that in our local paper this morning....just reminded me of when the hubby and I were going to Spearfish last year on I-90. One lane road construction and a pick up camper with bikes tied to the back merged onto the interstate right ahead of us. All of the sudden the bikes dropped down dragging on the cement. Lucky for us there was an exit we took. Bikes hit the car right behind us.

www.mystichillscampground.com We stayed in the large cabin a couple years ago. Really nice for the money! Also, the owners are great. Good food, cold beer and clean shower houses! It's south of Deadwood on the main highway about 10 miles. The nice thing about it, it's tucked back in the woods off the road!
-
You couldn't pay the hubby and I to go during the rally!!! Way to many people for us!!

Talked the hubby into heading out Thursday morning to Spearfish, Deadwood area for 5 days for a cheap trip! Going to tent it as the trip with the boys to Kentucky a couple weeks ago cost an arm and a leg!! Takes a day to get out there and a day to get home, so we'll have 3 whole days to hit Needles, Hewlett, Spearfish, Nemo, etc!!! Can't wait! We stayed at a great campground last time we were out there. The nice thing is they have a great bar/restraunt on site so when your done riding for the day you can cool down and just walk to your tent/cabin/rv!! I'll post pix when we get back!!:dancefool::dancefool::dancefool:YeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaa!!!!

Off subject...but if your camping...a wonderful city park campground is located right north of Escanaba in Gladstone. We've gone back twice because it's so nice! It's located right on the lake. Showers really clean, beautiful scenery, nice lake breezes, and about $15.00 a night! I love it up there! Our tent was about 15 steps from the lake and it was terrific!

New Battery...now head set doesn't work?
Iowawegian replied to Iowawegian's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Thanks Gibvel, I'll print this out and take it home to him. Deb -
The hubby put a new battery in the 05 Venture and now our head sets don't work.....I tried finding a thread about the subjet but didn't find anything....anyway, the hubby has been swamped and hasn't had time to read the manual. My question is...when you change the battery, does he need to reset the radio/speakers/etc? and if so is it easy? Thanks Deb
