  1. That’s the plan today. I’m going to remove the “T” fitting from between the carbs and run it to figure out which one is pushing fuel and then I’m going to disassemble again and check needle, valve and float. My guess is the float isnt floating as the needle and valve are new but until I open it back up I can’t be for sure.
  2. I’m sure that fitting is supposed to be attached to something but when I bought this bike it was not. However, if I’ve followed the carb section of the manual properly that’s a fuel overflow and it shouldn’t be leaking at all from there. But mine is coming out of the actual fitting itself where it’s not connected to anything. I’m thinking I’ve got a float not floating or stuck open, but I could be wrong.
  3. ok, someone help me figure out what I’ve done wrong… bike fires and runs on its own fuel now after 10 years of sitting in a garage and a carb cleaning and new kits. But I’m leaking fuel from the area in the picture below. Someone please help me figure out what I screwed up…
  4. Ok, so went down to the local power sports place and asked the service manager if he had some old carbs on a shelf that they scavenge parts from. for a case of beer I walked out with an old Mikuni carb set that was not identical but mic’d the shaft and seal and they were the same! Now I’m back in business. now on to final adjustments of float height, air/fuel mix screws and verify I have the right jets in the right carb (as I found out they are different between carbs)… any tips would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Yes it’s a bit of a project but as I can’t do much else it has worked out pretty good so far. Nothing but time on my hands to tinker with it.
  6. Just bought an 08 Royal Star Venture that has been sitting for almost 10 years in a shop. I needed something to keep my hands from being idle after a hernia surgery as I’m not allowed to lift anything heavy. My son is helping me when it comes to the lifting portion of the work. After fixing a wiring issue to regain spark (someone had cut the wires to the lean/crash sensor) I was able to hear her come to life on ether. But, carbs obviously needed rebuilt and fuel system cleaned. I bought the kits and tore down, Sonic bath and rebuilt with new parts. The kits didn’t come with the throttle shaft seals. This wasn’t a problem on any but the last one because the seals were in good shape. I’ve searched and searched and can’t find a listing for the throttle shaft seal. Does anyone know where I can get one or a pair of these seals? Not my first rodeo turning wrenches, however, I will admit it has been a while on a bike.
