  1. The Alabama route is the official route recognized by the Indian Councils and such. The group doing the ride through Tenn. is a new group trying to get more of the money for Tenn. They are being sued if I read the article correctly to try and keep them from using the Trail of Tears name. To make a long story short, several of us will be going up to Madison to watch the parade and possibly tag on the end and ride on into Waterloo.
  2. 40,000 bikes to start the ride? You gotta be kidding. Looks like they changed the route from past years. We may be going to Florence instead.
  3. trailoftears.net/index.phpmbrance.org/ This is the correct webpage for this ride
  4. Anyone going to ride in the Trails of Tears Sept. 20th? I won't be able to join the ride but several of us from Birmingham will be going up to I think Madison AL to watch it come through on the way from Chatanooga to Waterloo. Been told there will be several thousand bikes or more.
  5. If you decide to change back to a toe shift I am in the market for floorbords and heel toe shift for my 86. Send me a message to contact me.
  6. I've been an electrician for 27 years and finally had someone explain electricity to be on a motorcycle website. Also you have to replace the sparks as well as the smoke.
  7. Ithink I got some posted.
  8. The Pirate Ship pulls out another one. First place in Touring over a bunch of Harleys and Wings. She's 2 for 2 now.
  9. What good is a T-shirt without a pocket?
  10. Well the old girl still has it in her. Won first place in the Touring Class. Actually had one judge tell me he didn't know Yamaha started making the VR's again. When told it was an 86 he couldn't believe it. Anyway we're 2 for 2 in bike shows.
  11. I'll be there representing Ventureriders. Maybe the old bike can pull out another award. If nothing else with all the butterbeans there should be plenty of free gas!!!
  12. For anyone interested there is the Butterbean Festival in Pinson AL this Sat. Lots of events including a charity ride and a bike and car show. Google Butterbean Festival to get more info.
  13. I'll take 1(XL) if you get anyone else.
  14. I heard about a 07 or 08 Midnight RSV for sale locally with only 103 miles on the bike. $12,900 is what I think the price is. Will check further tomorrow. A local used MC dealer has the bike. Anyone interested?
  15. Last year my 86 VR won Touring class over all kind of Wings and Harleys at the local Covered Bridge Festival. One of the judges came by afterward and tried telling me how rare my bike was. I was just glad some other members from this site were not there.
  16. Gotta love the way people jump to conclusions.
  17. To really appreciate this paint job you've got to seeit at night. Lots of detail with reflective paint.
  18. Where around B'ham do you live? Maybe we could get together and ride sometime. Might be interested in getting some patches made also.
