  1. Make sure to latch and lock BOTH saddlebag cover latches. I left one latched but unlocked out of pure forgetfulness and guess what happened? On a very rough road close to home the lid flew off at 20-25 mph and slid down the road on its top of course. Now I have to get it repaired knowing if I had taken the extra minute or two to lock the latches, it wouldn't have happened. I always seem to learn from stupid mistakes
  2. Glad to see someone overcome adversity like that. My dad lost his leg just below the knee when he was 13, been riding all sorts of bikes for 56 yrs now. Has never ridden with two good legs. If there's a will there's a way.
  3. Glad to hear you're OK, there's an idiot here in town with a size 10 1/2 dent in his door because he tried pulling over on me in rush hour traffic.
  4. We all know Yamahamer just likes to stir things up. Or is it turn things up 12 oz. at a time.

  6. Let me know if you're going to make it.
  7. Do you have a CB? mine seems to have gone south.
  8. 312 curves in 11 miles
  9. Anyone coming to Barber's Motorsports Park here in Birmingham for the Vintage bike races?
  10. Got back a while back. Yamahamer, myself and several friends had one hell of a good time. Met another member but his name must have been washed out of my brain by the Jaegermeister. The "Breezy Ride" was something one must witness to appreciate.
  11. I've got several LED's in yellow in numerous places all over my bike with more upgrades planned for the winter. All of mine are wired into the running light circuit. I have a combination of strips, PODS, and single lamps.
  12. Got the cooler rack mounted on the bike today. I'll see ya'll Saturday morning.
  13. I pay $185/ year for full coverage on my 86
  14. Must be a northern thing
  15. We've got a group leaving out of Leeds around 8 heading to Madison to watch the ride come through. Madison is the lunch stop so should be able to walk around looking at bikes instead of just watching them drive by.
  16. Check the Honda dealership in Tupelo, MS. Lots of people from Birmingham area go there and save 1,000's of bucks.
  17. Last year at the drag strip not far from the house we went to watch the bikes race. I was approached by one of the promoters and asked to make a run just for fun. They were getting people from the crowd to bring their bikes out and make runs to see how fast they were. Mostly Hayabusa's and r1's with a few 600's thrown in. I can't remember the exact number but I think it was a 12.30 at 126 mph. And that was with bags fully loaded.
  18. I think I need to rewire the circuit I have in my trunk for the coffee pot and microwave.
  19. That picture just jumped out at me.
  20. notice anything funny about the middle picture? Front Mount Air Horns For GL 1500 1988-1997, GL 1200 1984-1987, GL 1100 1980-1983, GL 1000 1975-1979 http://www.customdynamics.com/Images/d_135.jpg http://www.customdynamics.com/Images/d_197.jpg http://www.customdynamics.com/Images/d_193.jpg Triple chrome plated. All Air horn systems are bolt on plug in applications. Requiring about 30 minutes to install. They include the horn set, dust/bug covers, all necessary hardware, hoses, wiring, fuse, relay, and detailed instructions with pictures. The air compressor creates instant air pressure to the horns. Since the pressure is created so fast there is no need for a storage tank as on Semi Trucks and RVs. Although the pressure is very low (12-15 psi) it delivers a large volume of air (3 CFM or cubic feet per minute). This low-pressure high volume air supply causes the diaphragm inside the horn to vibrate at a high rate of speed or *frequency* the exact speed at which it vibrates is varied by the length of the horn or trumpet. Together the horn set produces an extremely loud 128-decibel warning blast. This is approximately 4 times louder than most electric motorcycle horns, which usually rate at 87 decibels. AHFRT Fits:
  21. At 5:30 this morning gas was $3.53/gallon at 4:45 this afternoon it was $4.68 and there were lines out the wazoo. Lots of stations are sold out and others saying they are but not just so they can sell it at a higher price in the coming days. All this because of local TV doing spots on news about POSSIBLE shortages in the next week or so if facilities in Texas were to get damaged.
  22. Just got word today that 29 Dreams the premier motorcycle resort near Birmingham AL will be closing for good on November 9th. For all of us close by this will leave a big void in our lives. (no more sat. morning breakfast buffets). I might have to learn to cook again. For all that can get the chance to stop in before it closes make sure to tell Tim and Cathy the owners how much the place has been enjoyed. I've met riders of all makes and models from all over the country while visiting there. It will be missed.
  23. It would be nice for all the Harley people to have to walk around a bunch of Ventures to get into CD's to get a cold one. They can get a good look at what they're missing. It'll be around 9:30 or 10 before we make it up there.
  24. I got passed by 3 crotch rockets in this same curve last weekend. This is only about a mile from 29 dreams. When I saw them I let them know they didn't impress me any and I hoped they had their organ donor cards up to date, they would need them sooner than later.
  25. Looks like me and my dad plus a few more maybe's will leave B'ham at a yet to be determined time and ride up to Madison and possibly meet up with Eck to sit and watch the parade as it comes by. Not sure about riding on over to Waterloo. Will keep updates posted as they develop.
