Whats the difference? Also do we need to take off our helmets at the booth? We plan on staying at the falls for a night and then up to Sudbury and cross back in at Salt St Marie. Do ya think they have any problems with this plan? If you're planning on running from Sudbury to the Soo....you should look at running the 129 up to Chapleau, then across to Wawa on I think it's the 101??, then on down to the Soo on 17. This little side trip is just awesome! You follow the Mississagi River up to Chapleau, then from Wawa to the Soo you run down the north shore of Lake Superior, one of the most truly memorable rides you'll make, really! Gas is really expensive up that way right now.....$1.40 something a litre, there's 3.78 litres in a U.S. gallon......OUCH! gunk:shock3:

Definitely one at a time, have your passport or enhanced license at the ready. Tell 'em you're coming over to see me or Ian......seriously, one at a time and have your paperwork ready...then away you go. Have your mortgage papers for your house ready, gas is not cheap......if you make it far enough into our great country...order a poutine....make sure your hospitalization is paid up...or apply for refugee status, then it's free, and our government will even throw in a pension if your old enough. We love "foreigners" over here....you get healthcare, a pension and poutine all rolled into one if you make it across the border and the sled dawgs don't bark at ya.... gunk:shock3:

Don't know for sure Jay, I know my Zumo came with U.S. and Canadian maps installed, I can find out for you though. Sal lives on the east side of Windsor, Ontario Canada. Let me know if there's interest. gunk

I have a Gramin Zumo 450 motorcycle GPS for sale. I have the box and everything that came in it when bought new. I got it from my voulsia forum last spring and never installed it on my bike, but did check to make sure it works. I paid $380 but will sell it for $350. I thought i offer it here first before i put it on kijiji. I can hook you up with this guy's phone number etc. if you want to talk to him. He's a buddy of mine from our local SCRC club. gunk:shock3:

Thanks to all for the offers of help and cheer.....just a few issues that I have to deal with.....in my job, we work pretty much every weekend loading the great lakes freighters with salt....I can only scrounge so much time off, and I'm the bottom guy on the list. So..I do have the MD weekend off, but not another weekend even remotely close to it....so..to get the house ready for the next tenant, I have to use the MD weekend to get it done. Not sure yet, but due to my work mates vacation schedule, I may be on 12 hour shifts for a couple of weeks straight starting in that time slot....doesn't give me much time to prep the house. We're planning on hiring a cleaner/cleaning service to get the house ready, I'll be concentrating on the outside, and Beth painting on the inside.....paint fumes make me very, very ill....lucky me I'll have to hook up the washer and dryer, the tenants are of course taking theirs with them, they didn't use the ones provided. Yup, the house comes with frig, stove, washer and dryer. The yard needs a lot of work, they definitely weren't the type to do anything...we are going to start advertising tonight about the vacancy....IF we get a prospective tenant who would do the cleaning for a cut in the first months rent, we'll work on that deal....but I'm not banking on it. IBents had reserved our rooms as he graciously had done last year as well, so I sure don't want to leave him on the hook for our room, so we cancelled it. So.....maybe, there is a very slight chance though, maybe we can make it to MD, but I really, really doubt it. If we don't get it rented out, the extra burden of the mortgage will one hundred per cent preclude us travelling anywhere, let alone meals and a motel room for 2 nights. So, in a nutshell, y'all know we want to go...heck, last year was Beth's birthday, and birthday's are a big thing for her...and we were at MD, that is how much it means to us to go, re-connect live with old friends, make new friends, and in my case at least, droooooool at all the eye candy in Don and Eileen's yard.....chrome....painted tin...motors...exhaust.......and so on. We'll keep you posted, keep everything you can crossed for us, and we'll see what happens. Send us some good vibes, maybe it'll work! gunk

Beth and I received some bad for us news yesterday, our tenants are moving out on June 1st....so we won't be able to make it to maintenance day in Ohio. THAT SUCKS! MD is the trip that I look forward to every year more than anything....I am NOT a happy camper. We are going to have to stay home and prep the rental unit for rent:confused24:......we need to rent it out quick, the payments are a bit of a killer. I shudder when I think of the clean up involved....I had let them paint the master bedroom...it's one ugly color, and they did an ugly job of it.....geesh! So...no MD lunch, no MD renewing friendships and making new ones, no partying at the Comfort Inn with all you crazies, dang it, no cheaper than Canadian priced wine, no getting the heck away for a weekend. Gonna miss meeting Aussie Annie and Quickie....er, I mean Quickstep...did I mention I'm not a happy camper....this is worse than snow! Just a wee bit of history then....when Beth:bighug: and I met, she lived 4 blocks up the street, we married, moved away. Her house sold, mine didn't, bottom fell out of the real estate market along with everything else. We decided to get a larger home when we moved back. It's been a battle with tenants ever since, the market is not good here in Windsor, and selling just isn't in the cards right now due to being locked in on the mortgage and the fees to get out of it are huge. In a nutshell..I guess that's it without a whole lot of boring, if not already BORING details. So...have some extra fun while you're all there at Don's, and think of us while you're doing it! We are going to miss out big time, $#@#$%%% it. gunk:depressed:

Ponch is right, I do have some on mine...there are no rings of fire though.... Mine were made for a royal star....I had to "reverse bend" one of the mounting brackets, but it was not an issue, works fine. I purchased them from a guy in British Columbia, Canada....his forum name escapes me at the moment. Come to think of it...a lot of names escape me...not only at the moment...but all the time I can post a pic or two if you'd like to see them on the bike, I think they look great, you don't see too many of our bikes with them on, so they are kinda-sorta unique...somewhat..maybe....could be....probably are. One more thing to keep clean...shiny...light reflecting....shiny..did I mention shiny? gunk:shock3:

Bought a slave cylinder from Pinwall off of e-bay, $15 for an 07 with 15,000 miles on it....and ordered a slave cylinder rebuild kit out of California for $16.....hopefully this solves the issue....the master cylinder is full of Dot 3 to lube the o-rings...and we'll see what happens when the parts get here. gunk:fingers-crossed-emo

Pulled the 96 out of the shed today, it's been there since late October. NO fluids whatsoever in the resevoir. Added Dot 3, bled, added, bled added, no pressure at all in the clutch. No noticeable leaks anywhere. Pulled the side cover, pulled off the "slave cylinder" and had a heck of time to get it to move. Finally freed it up. Pulled it apart, can feel a ridge inside about 10 thou....have it all apart still. Comments? New slave cylinder required? Best place to buy? What a spot to get at! Sure glad my son can wrench, and more importantly...SEE! This getting old crap...and owning two bikes is a wee bit challenging at times. Thanks gunk:shock3:

Bottom line Larry, if you're bike is finally running as you think it should be, so be it! Whether it is the K+N's or clearing up an air blockage or whatever....now that it is running as you think it should, Yabba Dabba Doo! Sometimes, a fix without explanation....is 100 years better than a no fix with an explanation...or something like that! gunk:shock3:

Gunboat my friend, remain strong and positive. You can and will beat the demon, no doubt in our minds. We'll do what we can on our end to help you out every way possible, as I'm sure everyone in this large family will do as well. You can, and you will beat your adversary! gunk and beth

We'll be heading out in a wee bit, pick up ibents and Pat, and off we go to Kitchener to add inches to the waistline, lbs. to the overall mass, and bend the ears of probably far too few who don't want to hear far too much from myself and Beth. Add to this that Carl is running the show...and look out! We're gonna have a party in Bongobob's room before the great event...or maybe that is the great event? Who knows? It's great to get together with everyone, new friends and old, older in Carl's case..lol! Looking forward to the great event, it'll be a great one, as all of Carl organized doooooooos are! gunk:shock3:

Awesome look! gunk

If your oil level is on the low side.....check your sight glass when your bike is sitting level. Under hard acceleration, as Brad mentioned above, and the light will come on. Scared the dickens out of me first time it happened, went home, added a touch of oil, and all was good. If that isn't it......the search is on! gunk:shock3:

StarFan/Jonas needs help - Greetings from Iceland
gunkylump replied to StarFan's topic in Watering Hole
Hey Jonas! I watched a documentary on Iceland a couple of weeks ago...and it is on my "list" of places to go! Amazing country, what with all the geothermal geographics, and some of the most beautiful country to see! And of course, BLACK DEATH! Seriously, all I have to do is convince Beth. I was really intrigued by the documentary, bathing in that huge steam heated pond/pool, and your summer weather is very attractive as well. We'll see how things work out over the next few years.....sooner or later I'll get there! gunk:shock3:
