I totally gutted my RK's, and I love the sound. Actually, Beth wanted the bike louder than stock. It's got a great sound, not too loud, but you can hear us. The slash cuts look great as well! randy:happy34:

Hey, that bike in the first two shots is awesome..... Did I ever tell you the story about Rindercella and her two sugly isters???? Maybe next MD Cinderella, maybe next MD...a few beers, a couple of shots of.....some kind of tongue loosening liquor....and look out!!! it could be entertainment time.... glf:happy65:

Thank you very much Yama Mama....were you there when Beth let those puppies loose? Ooops, no that was up in Monroe......you should a been there!! I must admit, that woman keeps me guessing, all those quick change artistic like thingys going on....I just don't know what, where, when or why she does it......but I really enjoy being there when she does!!! Last time someone thought I was hysterical, I ended up in a loony bin for 3 months before anyone realized I was there....it was really great, I finally had a captive audience.....but I don't think too many of them got many of my one liners.........They finally let me out after the Big Indian pulled the sink from the wall, I completed my 14th electrical shock therapy(passed out with flying colors by the way) and Nurse Goodbody...er, no, it was Nurse Cratchet, flashed her @@'s at me.......I hated to leave after all that attention! The pleasure was all mine in meeting you and "the MAN"....we'll have to get together again some time when I can wrap you up in a straight jacket and bore you to death with all the regallry and stories that I have witnessed(made up) over the years!! Beth, the puppies and I will meet up with you again sometime soon! glf aka gunkylump p.s. If I can make one person smile each day, I am at peace with humanity, but on the flip side, if I'm not told to f***k off once a day, life just isn't as sweet and harmonious as I think it should be!!!

More Stories on the RSV Float Levels
gunkylump replied to V7Goose's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hi Kent: I was one of the few who witnessed you demonstrating the carb float issue on Friday at Don's. To say that I was amazed is an understatement. Amazed, and somewhat intimidated also. I would not want to attempt pulling the carbs, and then setting the floats by myself, at least the 1st time, there is just a little too much involved there for my limited experience wrenching carbs. Although I do get impressive fuel economy with my 04 midnite venture, I would still like to check the floats, I am quite aware of just how important that is. That being said....Beth said today that we could be in Texas in 2-3 days travelling the superslabs.........it just "might" be in the cards to pay you a visit and go through some "Goose training" for a day. (nothing like a self invite, eh?) I'll have to see how vacation time plays out for us this year, we are going 7 days a week here at the salt mine. Beth was quite impressed with what went on at MD, and we will be surefire attendees from here on in, both for the camraderie, and the knowledge that gurus like yourself are more than willing to share. My hat is off to members such as yourself who are willing to share your knowledge and experience with these great machines. randy (gunkylump) or as yamamama calls me.....glf:hihi: -
Sorry we missed saying g'bye to y'all Don, we had a wee bit of a trip up to Westlake to the motel.....gonna have to work on that next year. AWESOME weekend!!! We stopped at an auto parts supplier just this side of Toledo, and they did not have the triple pack of gauges in stock in chrome......but I know what to look for now. Hope to have a set on the bike before too long. Great time!!! You hit the nail on the head when you said that if you haven't been to one of these doooooos....you really don't know what you are missing!! Looking forward to next time... randy and beth:bowdown:

Beth and I are home from MD, just one close call on the way back to the motel in Westlake Saturday night, damn cagers! The stebel air horn did it's job and kept us safe! Many, many thanks to Don and Eileen for being such gracious hosts. To ALL who worked tirelessly on the bikes, WOW! Words cannot do justice! We met an incredible number of people, friends, family.......it's great now to be able to put faces to names here on the site. Already wore my new T-shirt...and yes, the XL does fit! Garry and Mary, thanks so much for your hospitality, the shade, chairs, food and refreshments are all very much appreciated. Ian and Pat, looking forward to the six of us getting together for a barbeque and maybe planning something a little larger??? I'll post what pics we have later, I have to work midnites tonight, so it's off to bed for a bit before I go and pound salt.....again! There's always a bed and a garage with tools for the "family" that has adopted us! randy and beth:happy34:

They were sitting around the garage, gathering dust.....I am sincerely happy that they have found a home and are going to be put to use....BOTH SETS!!! I hope your hubby likes them, and it's nice to have a piece of chrome from Canada "up" there in the states!!! randy:happy65:

Looking forward to seeing you there Garry.....good luck at your appointments! randy:cool17:

Hey Don: Sorry to hijack the post....Beth has purchased her own bike, starting off small this year at least.....I'd like for her to have a full face "modular" helmet. Are there any decently priced retailers in your area? randy:shock3:

8:00 a.m. at the Raunchy Ronnie's golden arches sounds good Ian, we can hop over the bridge from there. Are we eating when we meet up with the rest of the riders or carrying on as if we're normal? Either way is ok for me, we can always grab a Tim's sandwich and coffee on the way in to the meeting spot. Beth likes those, but enjoys sitting down and meeting and eating with folks as well, either way is okey-dokey. What night you coming out for a visit? Sad day for a Leamington rider yesterday, that just plain sucks. Damn cagers! Is Garry coming down with us, are we following the land yacht, or is he travelling otherwise? I'm not sure..... We put on just over 500 k's yesterday, a little chilly and windy at times, but a great day in all. The boss finally gave me the word that I have Friday off.....big deal :>), I was GONE anyways! See you one night this week! randy:thumbsup2:

You can buy leather lid covers for your saddlebags. I've got them on mine, and the work great!!!! Check out e-bay, or e-mail me and I'll do some legwork and get the fella's addy that did mine. He's in Florida. randy:thumbsup: -
This is probably out of your way......but if you have the time, the scenery from Sault Ste. Marie to Wawa Ontario is absolutely amazing! You would thoroughly enjoy this ride. Great hills, running by Lake Superior almost all the way, it is one of my favourites. If you have the time, it is time very, very well spent. randy

I've had my midnite Venture since 04. Lived in small town Ontario, and have usually been the only black Venture, or Venture, period. We've since moved to Amherstburg, ON, Canada, and it's another fairly small town, under 20,000 folks, most kind...the rest like me. Well, there are now 3 midnite Ventures, right in town, including my own. Wow, growing by leaps and bounds!!! One hangs out the next street over, and the other is owned by a young fella that works in the meat dept. and the local Sobey's. Yahoo.......more folks that I can discuss bikes with!! Life is good! I'll make sure that they know about the great people on this site, and how to get here to enjoy everyone here. randy:Venture:

I had issues with mine sticking....the screws out of the "hinge" area had backed out, and were jamming the mechanism. Hopefully yours is nothing worse than that, but I'm pretty sure you'll find that is what it is. Guess I should clarify further, the screws in the lid "prop mechanism" hinge....right where it flexes...not a very good description, too early in the morning I guess. Right at the "bend" in the mechanism....get a good light and you should be able to see what I mean. Sorry for the crude assistance, can't explain any better at the moment. randy:doh:

Santa Claus brought me the Diamond R set x-mas past.....if he wasn't so good to me, I'd be on your list as well! Great looking item, appears that you've done a great job. Great price as well. I'll be watching for further developments! randy:banana:

Hi Larry! Looking forward to meeting you. Probably a good idea to grab a quick breakfast while we're all there, if that's ok with everyone else. If not, a washroom break at least! We'll see you there. randy:pushups:

Let's see what the weather brings in the next few days Gary. I don't mind cool weather, but rain and cool just isn't in my books. It would be great to be able to get together real soon. I'll keep you posted, thanks again! randy:thumbsup:
