Pin Striper available for Freebird's Maintenance Day
gunkylump replied to Freebird's topic in Watering Hole
Beth and I were at Honda Homecoming in Marysville a couple of years ago, near the end of the day, and we met a pin stripe artist from West Virginia I believe......we hummed and hawed, and turned his generous offer down. Regretted it ever since! You can bet we'll be in line for some pinstripes this year!! Great stuff Don, keep up the GREAT work! I certainly appreciate your efforts! gunk:bowdown: -

Solo RSTD
gunkylump replied to hunter 1500's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I'm in the process of "soloing" my 96....I'm going with a studded leather piece on the rear fender instead of the rack, the studded leather compliments the studded leather bags. I don't have any pics yet, the bike is still apart, but when it's done I'll have some pics to post. gunk:shock3: -
I don't have a "sh*tty" outlook on life anymore, not since my "eyerectomy". Not sure what that is?? They severed the cord that connects my *sshole to my eyeballs, and voila.....the "sh*tty" outlook is GONE!! gunk

I appreciate everyone's opinion on this matter, and I respect that opinion as well. As I stated in my earlier post, they work, plain and simple, they do the job. FOR ME. I don't know how or why, nor can I explain how or why, but on my Venture, they work. I can't/won't bash anyone for their opinion on a topic which I am interested in, but I will try to offer what I feel are opinions on something which I have tried, experienced or otherwise had some experience with. Good natured ribbing is totally acceptable, and something which I also enjoy. As stated in my earlier post, they are working great in MY bike, and when I have the opportunity to change my tires, which should be this riding season, I will inspect the beads, and then make what I feel will be a "more educated" decision on whether or not to continue their use, based not only on their appearance, but by following threads such as this. Kudos to V7 Goose for raising the issue, and to all who have contributed to what I consider to be a very valuable thread. gunk

Hi Kent: I've been running the Dyan Beads both front and back in the Venture for 2 seasons now....and no issues thus far. Smooth, vibration free running. I am interested to see the condition of the beads when I change out the tires, I currently have over 16,000 miles on them. Then the decision will be made as to whether or not to continue their use. Good info on your part, and thanks! gunk

Recent Installed Risers Members
gunkylump replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I installed the same ones on my 96 royal star, no issues what so ever, and I have a set of the unpolished ones on my 04 midnite venture, no issues what so ever either. gunk -
Just installed Seabel Air Horn and rear Flahers
gunkylump replied to starkruzen's topic in Watering Hole
You can mount it where the existing Yammie horn is on the throttle side of the bike down by the exhaust. Carbon One sells a bracket that makes it fit like a glove, he also sells a wiring harness if you don't want to install your own. It's a slick application, almost looks factory! gunk:D -
Ok all you rstd folks
gunkylump replied to starkruzen's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Tried to add a pic of how the bike used to look, way back 8 years ago. Beth and I weren't married at the time, but were on a small vacation. gunk:hihi: -

gunkylump replied to starkruzen's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I've got a 96 with a few mods, no pics right now, it's somewhat tore apart being cleaned up and adding this and that. It's got over 123,000 k's on it, so far. I've got Jardine forward controls coming in this week that I just won on ebay, studded and concho'd the saddlebags, tinted the windshield, Kuryakin grips, front fender rail, skull mirrors, polished wind deflectors, solo seat rail, Mustang leather rear fender bib, saddle bag guard rails, stebel air horn, 4" pull back risers, yamaha driving lights and covers, LED tail light from custom dynamics, fringed and concho'd mud flaps, chrome carb covers, solo seat rail, studded and concho'd seat.......I'll post some pics when I get it all back together and cleaned up a wee bit. I rode this bike over 5 years, bought it brand new in 98, sold it to a friend of mine. He rode it for a while, then traded it in. I tried to get the dealer who got it to tell me who bought it, I always wanted it back, all he would tell me was the general area of the new owner. Well, 5 years goes by, and I find in on the internet one night, for sale. Called the owner, and the rest they say, is history. gunk:bowdown: -
We've got an 05 Infiniti G35 coupe....3.5 V6, it's the nicest car I've ever owned, and I've had a few.....we both drive the G, Beth in the warm weather, me in the winter. We also have a 99 Volvo S80 sedan, twin turbo, 24 valve, dual overhead cam motor.....surprisingly good gas mileage. Also have a 96 Mazda B4000 4x4 extended cab, 4.0 V6, nice little truck, same as a Ford Ranger. We both love the Infiniti...yup, it's an offshore, but it is one awesome car. gunk
