My thanks to Ponch and Monty...or Monty and Ponch, either which way. These two guys took the time to install the gauge package on our bike yesterday at MD in the heat.....and doing so cuts into their time to wander around and do other MD things. Words can't express how much that means to me. The gauges look AWESOME, they work AWESOME, and Beth has said how much she likes them and how GREAT they look. Thanks again to two of the best.....Monty and Ponch, or Ponch and Monty, you will not be forgotten! gunk and beth:Laugh:

Group ride from Detroit area to MD on the 19th.
gunkylump replied to MiCarl's topic in Watering Hole
Beth, Ian(Ibents) and Pat and I are leaving Windsor some time Friday morning and plodding our way down...a nice leisurely ride, hitting as many back roads as we can. Maybe we can hook up for the ride home on Sunday Carl! gunk:hihi: -
I've sold a set of floorboards to a fellow in Andrews, Texas, and I was wondering if one of the riders coming up to maintenance day in Ohio would mind taking them back to Texas and sticking them in the mail for me. Would save the fellow some $$$ in shipping charges, and he would get them that much sooner. Just floorboards, no mounting brackets. I could throw in a few bucks for gas if needed, and the money for the postage will be provided. gunk:hurts:

Hey Buddy: Now that is one GREAT looking ride you have there! There's an old saying about "paying it forward"...and it looks to me like that old saying has some truth to it! Good for you, you obviously deserve it! gunk:thumbsup2:

220 ain't that bad....is the plastic guide on the back/bottom of the seat going into it's proper position? I've seen it slide u/neath it's spot and the seat then moves..... gunk:confused24:

Don and Eileen: Thank you very much for all that legwork....there is no doubt, once again, that you have gone above and beyond anyone's expectations! You folks are just the GREATEST! Mexican sounds darn good to me.... Note to self: Bring toilet paper, lots of clean, fresh, rolled toilet paper.......it's gonna be a fun weekend!! gunk:Laugh:

Changing Brake/Clutch Fluid at Maintenance Day

Hey Goose: I've not ever changed the fluids myself....if your offer includes some assistance, please include me on the list. It's been two years this July for mine. gunk:Laugh: -

Ibents, Pat, Beth and myself are leaving Friday morning from Windsor Charlie. Have a safe trip!, we'll see you there. gunk:Laugh: -
You know...the older I get, the smarter my dad was..........he always tried to impress on me that if we were all the same....life would be boring! That said....whether it's a 1st gen, a 2nd gen, a wing, a harley, a kawi...whatever....we are all going to have differing opinions, likes and dislikes, of our rides. I'm not centering out Cap'n Eddie...I just didn't know how else to get in on this thread, so please pardon my interruption. We all will have differing opinions, that's why there are so many different products available out there, not just bikes...but cereals, meat cuts, alcohol, soda..whatever! I appreciate what I ride, but at the same time, I also appreciate what everyone else rides. (Although I do have a really hard time with scooter types) I hope that all these posts have been friendly banter, and that it doesn't take a turn to the nasty side, and start to become personal. Let's all appreciate what makes our countries so great, and that's having the ability to be a little different than the other guy without being persecuted. Perhaps we should all, myself included, think of this before we post something which could be interpreted entirely different than intended. This happens very easily without tone inflection and facial expression. I'll get down off my soapbox now, hope I haven't p*ssed anyone off, and I'll continue to enjoy the camradrie that is always so evident on this forum. gunk:Laugh:

Hey Don! IBents, Pat, Beth and I will be leaving Windsor, ON early enough on Friday that we should be in Oberlin sometime shortly after lunch. Beth and I would certainly be up for some "BBQ" on Friday night, so count us in. Not sure about Ian and Pat, I'll send Ian an e-mail so he'll know what's up. gunk:Laugh:

Water temp adapter seal
gunkylump replied to Ponch's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Beth and I'll be there early Saturday morning, and I'll have it set up and ready. Is there anything else that I need to bring that would help....besides a half dozen of Boomer's pygmies? I read here that they are extremely helpful, just a wee bit "short" though gunk:Laugh: -

Hey Ponch: Could you send some up to MD with Monty? I'm hoping to get mine installed at MD if Monty has the time. Thanks:Laugh: gunk -
The odometer on my 96 royal star was changed out 3x under warranty....condensation would gather inside of the glass...and they would change it out. So, my bike, which has over 123,000 k's on it, only shows 17,000 or so......be wary. The dealer can do a search through Yamaha to check out the warranty work done to the bike, and answer part of your question. If the odometer was changed out off warranty, well, they probably won't have record of it. The odometer does not reset at 100,000, but continues on, to answer another part of your question. There is a nice 97 for sale here in Amherstburg, low mileage, loaded up with the nice bags and windshield...but I think he wants in the 6000 range, a bit pricey, but so is 5000 for a 96. I can get you his telephone number if you want it...it is in very, very good condition. Two tone, white and blue. I saw this one a while back, it's probably sold already..... http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-street-cruisers-choppers-Yamaha-1996-Royal-Star-W0QQAdIdZ200167097 Good luck in your hunt! They are a great, fun bike! gunk:Laugh:
