  1. Best of my knowledge there is no condenser on the fuel pump (which helps reduce point arching)....how about one of our resident electronic experts tell us how to wire one and if any automotive condenser would work. Thanks in advance for any input.
  2. I've used the fingerless gloves for quite a few years and highly recommend these..... http://www.qwinerveprotector.com/MotorcycleGlove.html

  5. Walnuts I am curious to know if you are reading the replies to your requests? Several people have offered links to help and also asking questions about what tools and equipment you have at your disposal. IMHO joining this site ( i.e. paying your dues) entitles you and me to participate in all member areas....however becoming one of the family has nothing to do with the $12.00 subscription fee. Becoming family is a relationship based upon my factors. I encourage you to take some time to foster those relationships and you may be surprised at the benefits. Best of luck on your new (to you) Yamaha.
  6. Is your bike female?..... Sometimes they act strange for no apparent reason! : wish you luck in resolving the issue.
  7. A plug patch is the only one I trust....you get best of both...a plug and a patch, placed inside of tire.

  13. Sounds like a wonderful idea but infrastructure and maintenance would seems prohibitive? Not to mention if there was a glitch in the roadway panels, it would seem transportation would come to a standstill?

  16. Another enduring truth found in the word... Rom.8:28 -"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Prayers from our home.
  17. I appreciate all the input and will be servicing the bike soon, thanks guys.
  18. getting on i brush my right foot over the seat and sit down - getting off i place left foot firmly on ground and lift right leg over the tilted down back rest. i found if getting on the bike i try to lift right leg over the backkrest, i kinda fall into the seat, which i am not comfortable with. so whatever works best for you is the right answer. before i put on my back rest my back (and butt) got sore fairly quickly, since the back rest my back never bothers me and when my butt gets uncomfortable i can push my back against the back rest and lift my butt off the seat for a quick rest and reposition. best of luck.
  19. I have around 30K on my 07 RSTD and have not serviced my air filters. the bike runs perfectly, starts good, idles great and accelerates just fine. Can the OEM filters be cleaned and put back in? What is the correct part number for filters and the best place to purchase? i read here that you can just take top screws out of cowling (instead of removing the entire cowling) and bent the plastic to get access to the filter housing, has anyone here done it this way?
  20. I have the sealed beams on my 07 RSTD and have no complaints. I would be a little leary that halogens might be overbearing for oncoming traffic. Remember to wire your toggle switch so that the driving lights are on when toggle is down, this prevents vibration and gravity from accidentally turning off your lights. I run my lights day and night and I am certain they have helped me in more than one situation. Best of luck on the install.
