funny how when you get older, hair grows in places you least want it and won't grow where you need it - the joys of aging :-)

found myself holding my breath while watching the video - truly sad to see so much human waste due to alcohol/drugs and driving. personally i will not ride even if i have had only one beer - i love myself, my family, others and life in general too much to add another reason to make a driving mistake. i taught my son from an early age that there are some indiscretions we can make that carry fatal or life long consequences. i hope everyone here has a safe and prosperous Christmas season and new year - please ride safe & sober !! buz

about a year ago shortly after i bought my scoot i decided to take the windshield of and wear a brain bucket helmet - was only planning on running the country roads but the wife asked if i wanted some sonny's bar b que (which i never turn down) so we jumped on I85 and ran 70-80 mph there, probably 75 miles each way. when we got to the restaurant i immediately noticed a loud ringing in my right ear.....i stuffed wet napkin spit wads in my ears before heading home.it took a week to ten days to get better and i wised up and now use ear plugs and never a brain bucket again for me. i truly hope yours clears up on its own.

dave, i had previously tapped a screwdriver into slot on the oem flasher lamp and tried to open it enough to fit over the stem but just no luck. i'm almost afraid to wedge it open too much for fear of destroying my flasher lamp. i'm hoping someone can provide the part # they used to do the job on an 07, thanks for your input !! buz

i've posted this request in the Watering Hole and considering my request is about RSTD i thought i would post here as well. i have an 07 midnight RSTD and was instalingl passing lamp mount bar part # STR-1D635-40-00 and found that i cannot fit my OEM flasher lamp onto the special bolt which is provided with the mount bar kit. the mount bolt is .020 (20 thousandth) larger in diameter than the flasher lamp mount hole (with rubber sleeve removed). no way it will fit. anyone here with an 07 that has done the passing lamp mod and if so could you provide me with the part numbers you used to do the job....thanks....HELP !! Merry Christmas to all ........ buz

SylWoody, the measurement i provided was with the rubber removed. maybe i got the wrong part - the part i'm having trouble with is STR-1D635-40-00. some research showed this # fit 05-06 models. other research showed that STR-4NK35-40-01 to be the correct part # for my year/model. anyone out there w/ an 07 RSTD that has installed passing lamps....if so what part#'s did you order and use???...HELP!!!!!!

don i read a post here (see below) and used the same part # for my bike. you will see his bike is an 09 and mine an 07, i made the assumption they were the same. where is the best source to get correct part numbers for our bikes? http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=38307&highlight=passing+lamps+part

I've read thru the posts and still need some direction. i have an 07 rstd i purchased the Yamaha passing lamps and bar. I've got everything apart and have difficulty trying to push the stock turn lamp onto the special bolt supplied with the kit. here are the measurements - the o.d. of the special bolt supplied in kit (which the stock pass lamp is supposed to slide over) is .792 and the i.d. of the pass lamp is .772.....that is 20 thousands and i can tell you it ain't gonna fit without some grinding. i cannot believe yamaha expects the end users to have to grind or do machine work to make this fitment. anybody out there got any ideas? thanks, buz

nice looking jacket...i've been looking for something like that myself. you re-ordered to xtra large to get the right fit..... how tall are you & what do you weight? the reason i ask is that i prefer a fairly tight jacket, i'm 5'10" 230lbs. have you had the opportunity to wear it in cool/cold weather ?

Hey my stocking is empty ....lol.....they look real nice !

She is beautious - wonderful job - enjoy your time sharing....Merry Christmas !

what it really depends upon is whether you have toddlers running around. if there are toddlers in the house you install the roll with the paper hanging off the back - otherwise install it with it hanging from the front.

i live in N.C. - wife & i got in around 500 miles after thanksgiving. temps in low 40's to high of 65. three perfect days of riding...does it get any better!?

"Gary worked with me over the phone and we determined that the relay was fine. We took the relay out and bypassed the power from the ignition switch. We applied 12v straight from the battery and it wouldn't work with the ignition off. With 12v from the battery applied and the ignition on, the 4ways worked. On to plan C. (if we can think of a plan C)"................. apparently a 'ground' is being supplied to the flashers when the ignition switch in 'on'. retry the straight 12 volts and add a ground, see if that makes them flash. if that works then you can use a DPDT relay and switch B+ and ground at the same time....possibly plan C ?
