you can accomplish this by simply swapping in a dpdt switch at your running lamps....a lot cheaper and less work imo.

if you had stated that you were referencing a SPST then i would have agreed with you original post - and my post did specify a SPDT - so i recon we were both correct !! glad cougar got his problem solved.

just curious - if you have a single pole double throw relay (spdt) - the common pole connects to a normally closed point (this is one throw) the coil is unenergized - when the coil is energized the common pole connects to the normally open pole (this is the second throw..... when does a single pole double throw relay NOT have a NO & NC point? what is the sense in having a spdt relay if what you say is true ?

"I wonder if they make one for a V4?"........... you mean your V4 doesn't sounds like that......hhhmmmm??

we share your sorrow and rejoice in this knowledge.... 2Cr 5:8 We are confident, [i say], and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

nothing wrong with wanting an ultra - i'd have a street glide if i could afford two bikes - but the harley would be my second choice over my rstd....but that's just me. get what your heart tells you and if it breaks your wallet - then trade it in on something else.

after taking a 3 day riders course, i can definitely state i became a more informed rider. the SEE principle (Search,Evaluate,Execute) alone sets the tone for a heads up and safer approach to riding. even if you have ridden bikes for you entire life, a riders course can add value to your real life riding experience. i encourage all rider to sign up and do a recognized riders training class. btw thanks for the link - certainly a reminder that your first mistake could possibly be your last one.

i installed the wind blockers with the blocks provided but the shields still wobbled around. the best i can figure is that the curve (contour) of the plexiglass blockers do not match the curve (contour) of the inside of my cowl - which creates a 'high' spot where the Velcro attaches, leaving only a small point of adhesion. my thought was to try to build up some foam on top of the blocker to see if it might conform to the curve of the cowling. personally i am not fond of the idea of drilling holes in my cowlings to hold these in place but am certain that would fix the problem. btw i was not complaining in my original post, i was just responding to the thread. i will either figure out my problem or simply not use them, either way all is good.

i'm having problems with both sides not staying in place, just about lost one on my first trial ride. i found some foam backed tape that i'm going to line the top of the wind blocker with in hopes that it will fit the 'contour' better to the inside of fairing. from all the good reports i read prior to purchasing mine, i'm thinking i'm the exception to that rule. i hope to get it worked out though and will be listening for suggestions also.

as an aging senior, i would be afraid if i used that setup , someone would surely think it was either a colonoscopy bag or a dialysis machine and had escaped from the hospital...........

bartvaughan came on looking for a solution to his problem - some jumped in and offered advice....which over time became more of a testosterone induced lesson in electronics 101. i hope bart leaves with a good impression of our family. our (VR) house should have a sign at the front door " please check EGO's before entering. i was in the electronic industry for 23 years and have forgotten most of what i thought i knew - so i sit back and read with interest the great debate.

dave 77459 did you heat the emblems to remove them - what was your process? i like the looks of it w/o the emblems. i've got an '07 midnight - could be my next project---hmmmmm!
