got mine at walmart in the automotive section - cut it in half - reshaped for front and back seats - all for under $20.00. also bought two gel pads at walmart in automotive - i swap them out on long rides. rode 400 miles yesterday on the blue ridge parkway and forgot to take them along - but i have the butler mods done on both seat, so that helped alot.

"I get mine at Dealextreme.com for a good price. they are cheep chineese lights but have a GREAT bang for the buck. Get a HA-III coating."...................... you can get cheap stuff from dealextreme.com but don't even consider getting any kind of customer service...talk about an outfit that sux. that my opinion thru experience dealing with them. -
my buddy has a road king and it isn't difficult to remove the tour pak - takes about ten seconds - the windshield is four or five screws and moving the bars down is easy. if i was in his shoes i won't pull a trailer either - the bike is weatherproof and secure where it''s at but to each his own idea of the perfect setup. just not sure if you can consider yourself 'camping' in a rig like that !!

"Just goes to show it never huts to constantly play those 'what if' games to prepare yourself for that last minute and split second decision; not to mention WATCH THOSE MIRRORS and ALWAYS BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS!".............. one of the safety elements taught in the MSF class is the S.E.E. strategy - (e.g.) Search, Evaluate and Execute. that becomes sort of a mantra i play in my head when i am riding. Search out potential problems.....Evaluate the possibilities to avoid the problem...be prepared to Execute your plan. anticipating a "dumb move" of another vehicle can go a long way in saving your butt. i am really happy Beav that your outcome was good. best of luck to all this riding season and enjoy each mile.

"I'm supposed to get my 07 Tour Deluxe tomorrow. I'm meeting the guy half way. It has 1200 miles on it plus over 3 years of warranty on it.".............................. not sure if you meant it had over three years warranty left....which would be incorrect. the warranty on my 07 expires in May 2013, which is two years left on warranty. i've never ridden a Venture but my RSTD rides like a dream. you will probably feel like it handles better because of it being less top heavy than your previous ventures. you won't have any problem w/ making it look sexy with the detachable w-shield and pass. backrest. best of luck with it and waiting to see pics.

info. off the internet........... You must have or acquire a appropriate license to purchase this product directly to dispense yourself. The E.P.A. has several companies that they have approved their courses for licensure which you may purchase and study then take test under witness of a approved examiner. Interesting Note: R-22 will stop being produced in a few years. Like you saw happen with R-12 in the past. A new refrigerant is slated to be used with all new equipment soon and it also requires licensure to handle and dispense even though it is considered environmentally safe product to date. Now here is the point of this lecture,,,,,, There are alternative refrigerants even now for older R-22 systems. You can still get R-22 of course, ( but ) its price will soon increase dramatically to discourage its use as was done with R-12 during final years of its faze out. But!!!!!!,,,,, YOU WILL have a refrigerant that you can use in your older R-22 system for some years to come. So don't buy it if a sales person says you gotta buy a whole new R-410A system cuz R-22 is no longer available for your older system and they are not interchangeable. ( There is and will be a R-22 substitute for some time to come to keep your system working ) Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_buy_freon_22#ixzz1IfluqE4y

ditto on getting better mileage with the wife on board. unless i'm on an interstate or major road w/ speed limit at 70, i stay in 4th gear, it definitely gets better mileage . -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "I think the members have solved the mystery, but before we move one I have one more question here. What is the top speed you get on a second gen in 4th gear before she floats out? Feel free to discuss what you can do in third also".................... never left it in fourth to run it fast, always shifted to fifth for that. now third gear my bike hits the rev limiter somewhere between 102 & 105 mph (on the inaccurate speedo that is).

someone already mentioned it is a "line lock" - you will find it mounted in series with the front brake line at the master cylinder. if it has an inline fuse simply remove to prevent accidental activation, or cut and tape one of the wires to the solenoid (line lock). see pic below..... file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/Rutan/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot.png
