I went over to the Adv forum( I found out I was already a member fancy that). Anyway they are dying over there too. Your story has us all hooked. At least the ones in warmer climes can work off their frustration with a ride of their own but me and Puc and the others are sorta stuck.Living in Canada you know what we mean. Sure I can go play with the trains, but still I gotta have my adventure stories. -

OK I am going into withdrawal here. It has been a week and no new installments. It's winter here, can't ride so I NEED to read about somebody else's adventure. -
I don't know that dealer but the Hannigan Trike kits look really good on an RSV. I would get the aux fuel tank and the reverse if I were having this conversion done.
-
I love it. The words are great and the pictures even better, especially the round about. Thanks FF.

I was looking at the trike again and noticed that the front end is from a late 60's BSA or Triumph. They both used that brake and forks.

83 venture vs royal

The black boxes on the bottom are the electric anti dives you won't really need them once you have the progressive springs installed. -

Try this stuff, the durobond 7025 aluminum putty. withstands temps to 1000* and is machinable. http://www.cotronics.com/vo/cotr/rm_putties.htm?gclid=CMadsZevwNECFQNrfgodNMsD0g -
I had Rick do the seat on my 2008 RSTD. I had removed the stock to put the Yamaha/Corbin seat on it. It never did become comfortable ,I sent my original seat to him and Rick rebuilt it to be far more comfortable then the Corbin ever thought of being.

The carbTune is sold to 10spd. ASAP he lets me know the address where he wants it sent,it will be gone.
-
10spd You wouldn't want it if they did. I have a Carbtune I no longer have a use for as I don't have a Venture any more and I don't work on other peoples bikes any more either. $75 postage paid. With case.

I only knew Ponch from his post here and his gauge mod,but he had lots of interesting things to say. Glad to see you are still around and kicking,Merry Christmas to you and your family

Oh Jack you were my idol. I always wished I could pick up Ventures and keep them from descending into oblivion. I managed to acquire an 83,86,87,and an 88 all VRs. Oh well they are all gone now, except the 87 Anniversary and as soon as I can get it out of the shed and some pictures,it will be gone too. Good luck in your new direction and in the gun collecting. That looks like fun.

Well it's 62* and clear. The bike is in the parking lot at work and I am going to shut down here pretty soon and head out for a few miles.

Blonde MKII Venture in this months Rider Magazine
Pegasus1300 replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Watering Hole
Because I am not on 2 wheels any more. I quit riding it when I bought the 2008 RSTD and when I wrecked the 2008 RSV I decided if I wanted to keep riding it better be on 3 wheels. -

Sena SMH10 intercom between car & bike
Pegasus1300 replied to aharbi's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Thank you very much ,that is a great idea. My wife and I do the same thing, she goes in the car me on the Spyder. I am going to modify her smh10 the same way. We love our smh10 also. -
Welcome to the forum Steve. You have a really nice collection on bikes. Do you still ride the Trident? This is the place for god information on getting those e Ventures back together again. I am always amazed at the amount of money people spend on these bikes and then the years pass and they just don't ride them. The last Royal Star I bought was 3 years old and only had 500 miles on it. My current Spyder was 4 years old when I got it with only 8500 miles at a fraction of it's new cost.

Would you be in the market for a 3rd Gen Venture
Pegasus1300 replied to Freebird's topic in VR Polls
I spent 28 years on Yamaha V4 Ventures of one kind or another. I would be interested to see such a bike come out from Yamaha but since the accident in 2011 totaled my last Royal Star my 2 wheeled days are over. Its 3 wheels and the Spyder for me now. -

Russ get better soon. A precious memory of you is when you sent flowers to my wife and I after our accident back in 2011. I hope and pray that you get your health back soon. -

The Berryman's B 12 liquid and spray was the preferred method of the old Venture Touring Society and was featured ib several of their old Bench Wrench articles in the house organ. I am sure those articles are still in the tech section of the MTS the successor. I used this method myself for years whenever my Venture plugged up. Take the top off the air cleaner Spray into every hole you can find while engine is running. You may need someone to help you keep it running. Also be sure to put the mixture Dan suggested in the above post. It may take a little time but this will clean out the carbs and I never had it hurt anything.

actually it was fixed in 1988 with the creation of the 1500. The alternator is on the left side and is easy to remove.. Also very reliable. It is the 1200 with the engine removal alternator fix. The biggest problem with 1500s is it probably has a solid axle with drum rear brakes and a standard steering neck which will make the steering hard. I had a 1990 Goldwing SE for 5 years and 50,000 miles. It ran well did everything a Goldwing was supposed to do but I never liked it and replaced it with a 2012 Spyder RT last year which I really like.
