All Ventures from 1983 to present came from the factory with all locks keyed to a single key.You should have gotten a main key, a 2nd identical spare key and a metal tag with the key code on it. If you got anything else something was changed by the dealer or at the distribution warehouse or in shipping.

I developed heel spurs in my right foot about 7 years ago. I went to Dr Rogers in American Fork UT.He fittef me with orthotics, physical therapy and a couple of cortisone shots and I have been okay since. I know that it is still there as I can feel the pain if forget to wear thr orthotics, but as long as I buy good shoes and wear the arch supports I am fine.

OK so according to the first article the company is not around anymore. On the scond website most of the information on the home page is in Latin. So is this still for real or what. It would be cool if it still exists

KOA is a good option,I have used them before and as an AMA member you get a discount.I would imagine that the Canadian equivilant would get you the same. If you buy a tent my suggestion is to buy it at least 1 person larger then the most you intend to put in it with the smallest being a 3 man tent. They don't cost much more and you will appreciated the room. Also check out the website for the Brotherhood of Motorcycle Campers, they have lots of good ideas. www.ibmc.org

You have to admire the mind of the guy that could see all that in his head and then choreograph it to make it happen. What a visual genius.Thanx for the posting.

I used a Ralley Pak. It comes in 2 parts one large and one about 1/3 the size.It also comes with a cargo net and exterior pockets. It has plenty of straps and "D"rings and buckles on both units to tie them together and to tie them to the bike.It even has straps to wrap around your passenger backrest. It also has reflective strips that work real well.Water resistant, heavy duty nylon maybe like Cordura and very well made. Mine survived a wreck that totaled the bike but it never detached and only got a small tear where it pinched on the backrest. Beware however, the factory rack is only rated to 20 lbs. Its not that the rack gives out but it can bend the fender. I watched this happen on a friends bike.

Glad it all worked out for you. My standard reply to"they will tell you the same thing"is "well ok let's give them a chance to do that". That alwayss get me to somebody else.

Rocky Mountain ATV and Jake Wilson are divisions of the same company. They both have great service and offer free shipping on orders over 100.00. Rocky Mountain is more 4wheeler/dirt bike oriented and JW is streetbike/touring oriented.

Blond is beautiful,I have an 87 Blondie in the garage. Are the cruises not working or they are not there? If I remember correctly the TuTone Golds in 83 were Royales and should have the cruise as standard as well as the radios, tho CB was an option. Welcome back to the family and good luck with those 2 babes.

Well I for one will never forget 2011.:sick:Totaled out Pegasus Blue Star in March in a stupid accident just outside of Death Valley, then nearly killed my wife and myself on its replacement when a tire blew in June on the way to Martin's Cove Wy. The good news is we are both still here and able to go thru a recovery,we are recovering, tho there will be lasting effects and we got closer to each other, the kids and our God. All in all not a bad talley. My oldest son got a much better job,one daughter gave us a new grandson, the other got a promotion at her work and the last finished her RN degree. And my other son was accepted to Nursing Grad school all the grandkids are healthy and doing well so I am truely blessed.

Ripples on the water ripples on the water. They go out and out and out and you never know where they will stop or who or what they will touch or set in motion. You may never know all the effects of this act of kindness either on others or yourself but it is a good thing and thanx for sharing.

Maybe a muffler shop can braze it for you or I have seen muffler patch kits in places like Auto Zone, that might work.

Pretty brown here in Utah as well. last year we thought the snow woulod never go away. Could get real dry here this summer too.The ski resorts have all resorted to making their own snow.Blue skies and 50 degree weather, maybe us Utah riders ought to get together on Monday for a little ride, what you think Dave?

I have that same drill press.I have had it for several years and it works well. The only thing I didn't like about it is the depth gauge doesn't work very well on mine.

Welcome to the site. When you get your 2011 if it is used be sure to go to a Yamaha Dealer and have them transfer the 5 year warrenty into your name. Get the maintenence records from the PO if he has any or change the oil/filter and rear drive oil to establish a base line for yourself. There are tech articles here that will teach you how to do those things and they are very simple to do.Many of us do our own maintinence and will be glad to share. Depending on mileage check your rear brake pads as they tend to wear quite fast. One trick is to swap them inner for outer to prolong life. Its easy to do. There is a company in Spain that makes an iPod interface that reads thru the CD screen and allows your controller to run the iPod,worth looking into.Check out the other tech articles for questions you may have and just ride the heck out of that machine, you will love it. BTW this thread died 3 years ago so you may want to start a new one with any questions/comments you have.

89 Venture - Mileage life span
Pegasus1300 replied to KIC's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Check out the tech section, I am sure there is an article there on servicing the speedo. It is not bearings but a bushing where the cable screws into the speedo -
Interesting that you should bring up this topic. Tuesday we took Cynthia to the doctor for a follow up on her wrist. As we were waiting I took a piece of Salt Water taffy from the desk and as I bit in to it a cap came off so I spent the rest of Tuesday afternoon in the dentists office getting that fixed. I am good friends with my dentist ( he rides a Vulcan 2000) so I enjoyed the visit but needed the time elswhere.

In the 70's many of the trials riders around went to Nittos as they had the same soft side wall as the English Dunlops and a lot cheaper.Haven't heard of them in years and don't know if they still make motorcycle tires.

This would be rotfl funny if only it weren't so relevant to my life:rotf::rotf:I have read this before but the video brings it so much closer to home.

I am always pleased when I ask for a diet coke and they tell me they have Pepsi. I prefer Diet Pepsi but will drink Diet Coke because that is what most places have. I wish they would carry diet 7 Up or diet Sprite or something besides brown. -
After 2 go downs this year I know how your son feels.I am so happy to hear he is not worse. He will recover. Our prayers will be with your son and his family.
