Tho this was back in the 90's my riding buddy of the time had a VMax and he let me take it one day. I had been on Ventures for about 10 years at the time. I took it down the road and got it up to 45 in 3rd gear, thinking that should be a safe(?) speed to punch it from.I can tell you I am glad there was a step in the seat because without it i'd have been sitting on the road watching that bike head off on it own. They are scary fast and when the Vbost kicks in boy do they leap. What an awesome acceleration. Of course I quickly found also that even my VR could out handle them, but nothing could out accelerate them.

Ya know after over 25 years on ventures I changed to a GW trike but I'm still here and you can be too. We'd love to hear about your experiences on that FJR. Like all successful long term organizations this place is really about the people not just the bikes,so hang around awhile and let us know whats going on.

My understanding of Ebay is that buyer protection only works if you buy thru ebay using paypal. My daughter and son in law got scamed buying a stolen car thru ebay using paypal and were able to get their money back but the whole deal was thru ebay. This seems to be on Craigslist?

You can use it instead of salt in many recipes.Tony used to say "When it's salty enough it's spicey enough" I used to have to have my sister in Louisana send it to me but you can but it in most regular grocery stores now. Try this for a good soup on a winter day: If you want to be a purest you should use Andouille Sauage I also throw in a ham bone Black eyed pea soup 1/2 pound fat free kielbasa or smoked sausage. ( I use the turkey kielbasa sausage) 1 tsp olive oil 1 medium onion chopped 1 1/2 C peeled and diced potato 15 oz can black eyed peas rinsed 5 ounces collard greens chopped (may use frozen) 3 cans chicken broth 1 1/4 c water salt to taste black pepper to taste -Cut sausage into bite size pieces. in large pan heat oil and cook sasauge. Add onions when sasauge is about cooked and satue. -Add potaoes, black eyed peas, greens, broth and water. -Bring to simmer, cover and cook until potatoes are tender. -Season with salt and pepper.

I was 18 in 1964 and away at college. The gas station down the road from the dorm rented little Yamaha 80cc dirt bikes. man we were stylin on those things. One of the roomies got a Honda super 90 for Christmas, that bike was cool rode it then went to South America for a while and rode a friends DKW a German 200cc 2 stroke.Very nice comfortable bike. Came home in 68 bought a 1956 AJS 500 single, then a brand new 1969 Norton Fastback Comando, should never have sold that bike. From there: 1969 Yamaha 650 Candy Green and Cream (1st year) 1968 Triumph 650 TR6 with bags and a windshield 1972 Yamaha 650 Candy Red and Cream (first year of electric start 1972 BMW R75/5 759 with bags and a Butler Avon full fairing 1972 Montesa King Scorpion (250) 1974 Suzuki RL 250 Trials (Aluminum tank) 1967 Bridgestone 350 GTR 1968 Ducati 450 Scrambler Single 1978 Yamaha 500 single 1978 Teiumph Bonnieville 1983 Yamaha Venture 1986 Yamaha Venture Royale ( sold to +Utahadventure for parts ) 1987 Yamaha VR Still have) 1988 Yamaha VR 2008 RSTD (Blue/Black wrecked) 2008 RSV-S (wrecked) 1990 Goldwing TriKing conversion( current) 1968 BSA Royal Star (500 cc twin in restoration)) 1971 Montesa Texas Scrambler (175 cc two stroke in restoration) The AJS was a piece of junk when I bought it,I can't believe now that it lasted a month and like Bubber and his BSA experience I will never have another AJS even tho it was the PO's fault not the AJS.

Harley has several special editions,95th anniversary.100th andniversary,105th anniversary,30th anniversary of the electraglide,10th anniversary of the Vrod, etc, etc, etc. They also do limited edition paint runs or equiptment runs.Anything to generate interest and sales and they are very good at it.

I saw this when I first got internet access back in the ninties.I was funney then and it is even funnier now as I have a son who is a software engineer and has run into people this unaware when taking a stint on his company's help desk.I wish I could remember some of the stories he has told me.

There is a seat available from Can Am that will move you back 1.5".Also there are foot pegs that you can get that will move your feet forward. I was looking at them today in fact and I am seriously considering trading the Goldwing Trike for one.

I'd take the 07 because I love that Blue/Black combination and besides the 07 still has some warrenty left.
-
To me it was facinating to see that the riders wore their wind/weather protection rather then have it built into the bike. Also the bikes were so simple and small.

Since I Started with British Bikes and still love them I belong to the Utah British Bike Club.Someone from there sent this youtube film to me.It is long,27 min but very enjoyable and it is great to see the old bikes when they were fairly new. 86 and on seats have a different nose mount then the 83-85 so they will not work without some futzing. Rick can make your 83 good for the type of distance you are thinking of for very reasonable. Backrests: both Marklin and VentureLine made driver backrests.I've had both and liked them both.I think again you will have to find an 83-83 unit to fit as the bag change for 86 on caused a mounting change.Check Ebay Arm rests. There was someone here who made some, maybe a search will come up with that information.Again back in the day Ventureline,Markland and Showchrome and Drag all made them but because of 86 on trunk differences you will have to stick to 83-84.I think 85 is different also.Again Ebay Now if you can do some fabricating there are lots of 1100-1200 goldwing armrests that can be made to fit. Good luck and have fun.

These things used to be quite popular bsck in the day.We sold them mostly for use with dirt bikes and small street bikes, but I did know one guy who towed his CB 750 with it.Since they had an endless chain he left it on with no trouble as the trans was splash lubed. On our VR's our transmissions are also splash lubed as I remember so there should be no problem at least for short distances. If you are really concerned about emergencys however the AMA gives you free towing with you membership for every vehicle you own.All you have to do is agree for the automatic renewal.Membership is $39/year and you also get a pin and a magazine.

They are end caps for 83-93 1st gen. There should also be some sort of sleeve that fits over the handle bar that holds the foam grip and inside chrome piece and the web that the screw goes thru to the end cap. The whole assembly then slips on to the bar. It looks like you are missing most of the stuff.
