Maybe you could get a Legends race car body in a style that would work for you. Beautiful work BTW on your conversion.I was wondering why you didn't use the brakes already on the rear end?
-
Not a comedy but Foyle's War is a good mystery set during WWII.Good shots of Spitfires flying and what looks like a an E3 Norton.Really fine acting though they do tend to mumble a bit.

I did have the front end slide on me once when I entered a turn too fast and tight. That was with an E3 rear tire mounted on the front.I am now running a Micheline Pilot Active rear tire on the front and I think it gives me a higher cornoring speed.I do feel more in control with this tire.I wish somebody would make a flat section front tire for trikes. If you have found any C/Ts that will fit on a Goldwing(1500) I would like to know.I have heard of them fitting the rim but not between the forks or under fender.Good luck on your quest.

Get signed up over on TrikeTalk.com.He has a raked front end for around 695 for your Yamaha.Lots of good information there too and good folks. As far as I know there is no C/T that will fit the front end of any bike. There is a company in Holland that makes an Earles type(leading Link) front end for almost anything and it is designed to use a car type tire. It is of course VERY expensive. I don't know whether the Michelin Pilot Active has a rear tire that will fit the front of the RSV.I am using one on the front of my 1990 Goldwing and I really like it. Rumor has it that one of the major tire companies is working on a flat cross section front tire for motorcycle trikes.Avon makes a tube type flat cross section tire for sidecar use already so it shouldn't be too hard and there is for sure a rising demand.I know I would go for one if it were available.

I went from a 1st gen VR to an RSTD and loved it,tho at first i did miss the radio. Then I put an mp3 player in my pocket and some ear phones that fit under the helmet and solved that problem.when I got married my wife wanted to ride with me and she was happy with the RSTD as it was pretty comfortable for her also, but I wanted the intercom so we didn't have to shout at each other.I got an RSV and she did like the intercom, the fairing made it a litttle more comfortable for us both.So the answer to your question is "yes"it just depends on what you like and how your going to ride.BTW I put 35k on the RSTD in 2.5 years so comfort wasn't a problem.

the circuit board cracks are well known and you can fix them easily with a magnifying glass and a pencil type solder ing iron.Find the cracks with glass the heal with soldering iron.If you want to but a standard type shock on you can as they are the same execpt for the class controls. -
In 1986 I went into the Harley dealer to buy the last Soft Tail Classic left in Utah a beautiful red and cream color. It was closing so I shook hands with the salesman said I'd get the money from the credit union after work Monday and buy the bike,He said OK.When I returned on Monday the bike was gone ,sold to a friend of mine. I have never been back to that dealership again, but I have owned 6 Ventures including an RSTD and an RSV and yes I would buy another in a heartbeat. When I wrecked the last one I should have kept it and triked it but I got a deal on a Goldwing trike. It is a fine trike but I don't like it.Not that its a trike but that its not a V4 Royal Star.I have looked seriously at every bike out there,I even had an 1800 rider offer to trade straight across for my 1500 Trike. Some other bikes I really like and would love to have as a second bike if I could afford them, but for a primary I'm going back to an RSV/RSTD as soon as I can afford it.

Thanx i needed that. I have always wondered why I kept putting on weight.

The early Tour Classics with hard leather bags with plastic inserts were all 4 pipers. The later Tour Classics soft leather bags were 2 pipers as were the Tour Deluxe with hard bags.I think this change occured in 1998. In 1996 the Tour Classic colors were Raven Black/Beach Sand Tan and Blue/White.The standard Royal Star were White/Red and a solid Black In am not so sure of the other years, tho there was a Black with white pinstriping a Green and Tan, a Red and White,a Dark Blue and White with Red pinstriping and a Red on Red.

Just read thru all these and they are really fun.Sorry you have to put up with me 3 times in a row,But I just answered posts as I went along. 1st Bike 1956 AJS S.O.B and it was 2nd bike 1969 Norton "Norton" ( what would you call it) 3rd 1972 BMW "Silver" 4th 1969 Bridgestone 350 GTR Grrrrrrrrreeeaaaattt 1983 Venture Pegasus 1986 Venture Royale Pegasus 1300 1987 VR Golden Hind (Sir Francis Drake's ship that he went around the world in) 2008 RSTD New Blue 2008 RSV didn't stick around long enough to get introduced 1990 Goldwing Trike the Whale I guess the truth is I haven't cared enough about this bike to find out it's name but Whale will do for now. I hated the AJS it was a piece of junk when I bought it and being a new rider didn't help the relationship. As for the Goldwing I just don't care about it,I don't feel connected to it.As soon as I can it will be going away and I will get something else, maybe replace it with an RSV trike.

If you want to stay on US 89 it will take you by Bear Lake then thru Logan Canyon,Logan Gity,Sardine Canyon and Brigham City (both real pretty cities). The take I-15 to SLC then east out of SLC to Emigration Canyon, past Coalville, Kamas, Francis up over Wolfcreek Pass to Duchane Roosvelt and Vernal. You will hit about half the good roads in the northern part of the state that way.I don't have my map with me right now but mabe Dave can chime in here with those road

Pegasus1300 replied to af226's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
On the 83-85 series the mufflers tended to rot out along the bottom, the left side especially It was far cheaper to replace with aftermarket then stock.Rivco Hooker Jardine and Mac and Cobra all made slip on mufflers for the Venture, but I don't know who still does today. -
Scott that is a very nice 'Wing. Is it an 1100 or a 1200?

They were originially plated and there are companies that can plate plastic but you would have to do a google search to find them.

To answer the earlier question about Yamaha Philosophy in the 80s. It was very similar to what they have now,no real clue how to market the bike and few upgrades over the years (83-93).There was an atempt to keep up with the Goldwing for the 86 model year when they fixed the trans problem and redesigned the luggage, but nothing after that. Then in 93 with touring riders flocking to the then new(in 88) 1500 Goldwing Yamaha choose to kill it off rather then butt heads with Honda. If they had wanted to they could have bumped the engine to 1600 with a simple bore change or 1800 or more with a stroke increase as well.So much else could have been done to the bike that forced Honda into 2 redesigns who knows where we would have been today.I think Yamaha is still smarting from the public humiliation they were forced to go thru when they lost they Honda/Yamaha sales war and are afraid to challenge the Goldwing.
