  1. Yes I was a member of the VTS and then the MTS and then the short period of time it went back to being the VTS when the Royal Star 1st came out and then when it went back to the MTS. I don't keep up that membership any more but there were some good people there. I came to this website from Veturers.Org when Don started this one up. I still maintain membership in both again because of the people.
  2. [ I found a Victory side car rig too, want the link for it? Yes I would like that link. I would like to replace my GL1500 SE trike with something else.
  3. the problem you are referring to called "Loss of Situational Awareness" and is a real problem among older pilots and as I learned much to my chagrin older motorcycle riders. While on a trip to Death Valley in March of 2011 with some friends,I ran into the back of a van. We were in heavy traffic going slow when something to my right distracted me for only an instant. When I looked back traffic had stopped. I grabbed the brakes but still slid into the rear of the van and then went down, totaling the 2008 RSTD I had waited and saved 12 years for. I was fine. Loss of Situational Awareness. I have since realized that I am not as aware of things as I used to be.I have now become more deliberate in my watching and riding. I drink more water, rest more, take more breaks, leave more space between the cars in front of me, ride a little slower. It can and will happen to all of us sooner or later. Keep yourself in as good a shape as you can, take your meds, get your rest, drink plenty of water and be aware.
  4. there are enough junk/wrecks Ventures out there you should be able to find one.Check your local biker bone yard. You should look on eBay motors.
  5. When driving from New Orleans to Salt lake City with my parents in the 50's and 60's I remember seeing them in Louisiana and East Texas. We used whatch for hours for the next one hoping to see a new one.
  6. what did you like about it over the iPhone and Android?
  7. Larry as there is no posted price on the website for that lift do you mind telling us what you paid for it?
  8. Yes Woody that is the only way I could get in also.
  9. I had the same problem with my 87 when I rebuilt my forks, the seal on the right fork would not seat. On close examination with a magnifying glass I discovered that there was enough of a deformation to keep the seal from the last little bit of travel to seal fully. A little sanding with some fine machinist's cloth and it was done.BTW I have done forks on an 83, 86,87 and all three had the conical washer on the bottom. The lip on the ID seem to fit into the seal and stop just short of the lip of the seal.
  10. there are reverses available for from Hannigan Motorsports for their trike kits for the RSV/RSTD but I don't know of anything for the 2 wheelers.
  11. so for those who have seizures and know when they are coming on,how much warning do you get?
  12. They are also your air intakes and filter housings, as well fuses and electronics.
  13. Back to the original premise check out The International Brotherhood of Motorcycle Campers. http://www.ibmc.org.
  14. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm outsourced from where? Are they going to retain the Earls Front Fork?
  15. I have been using the Pledge off and on since 83 and never had a problem with it hurting the windshield, but I have also never had a Cee Bailey either. Prolly best to do as they say.Just out of curiosity do they have a recommendation?
  16. Used Honda spray cleaner,Yamaha Spray cleaner and wax and Pledge, both with and without lemon. The Yamaha needs to be buffed some to make it really shine. The Honda cleaner/wax used to work really great but they changed the formula a few years ago and now I like the Yamaha better.Pledge works really great lemon or not but you will get bees and wasps with the lemon. In my area the non lemon is hard to find so I stick with the Yamaha. The Pledge costs about half what the Yamaha does.but it is also a smaller can. I have never tried the Dollar Tree brand but might give that a try.
  17. Years ago one of our members used to make those gauge mounts but I think he pased away and the mold was lost. I think it was Tour Masters? I see you are in Arizona. Did you just buy that bike from Kent in Cedar City UT?
  18. The times that I have had seals leak in a short time after replacement I have replaced the the two bushings at the bottom of the forks. That has usually fixed the problem. If you have already done that try taking the spring off the seal and cutting one coil from the spring then put it back on.Yeah I know sounds weird but it does work.
  19. 1st bike a 1956 AJS bought in 1968. It was a POS but it got me riding and I never stopped. No pictures I wish I had some but ............
  20. I did find one of a 1997 RSTC, but I never seen one of either 1st or 2nd gen Venture.
  21. Thanx Dave, its still pretty up there even with the Pine Beatles. They are getting to be everywhere.
  22. It's too bad you don't like that seat color. It looks really good against the black.
  23. the mounting plates are actually all the same from 83 to 93,its the plate to bike hardware that changes.
  24. check out this website for RT 66 information http://www.motherroadrally.com/‎
  25. OEM's have the slots milled side specific while aftermarket do not. That is the only difference. EBC and BraKing both make good replacements. I have used both in the past but don't know what is available now.
