I used to live in Humacao. We could see Vieques from the beach. I think when I was there (1973) Vieques was a Naval gunnery range

As an aside, where in Puerto Rico do you live?

Happy Anniversary Joyce and Larry. Hope you have many more

Just went to KSL and didn't see the old girl there. Did you get her sold or get discouraged? It could take some time but your price was fine. Makes me discouraged about selling the Golden 87 I don't ride any more. BTW which one do you have now the Silver and maroon 99?

I finally decided to pull the trigger on my Venture.
Pegasus1300 replied to Flyinfool's topic in Watering Hole
I was forced to give up my Venture in 2011 after wreck. I no longer felt comfortable on two wheels and my wife refused to ride with me on 2 wheels. I was not ready to stop riding so I went the trike route. Missed the lean for awhile but now love the way the Spyder feels and how comfortable it is for me. I still have a 1st gen 87 in the shed I can't part with but nothing 2 wheels anymore. Couldn't go back anyway if I wanted to,balance is going as is leg strength. The time will hit us all sooner or later if we live long enough. -
Fairing looks too angular to be an RSV,looks more Harleyish and it looks more white then silver. Also I think the fork angle is wrong for an RSV.

Been on a CPAP since July 2000. Can't sleep without it. I do get tired of all the stuff, but I like sleeping and living,so I decided when I got it I would use it no matter what. Back then most insurances did not cover the cost so I bought everything myself including the sleep study. I have 2 machines now, one a regular CPAP that is my home unit and a little travel unit. Works on battery or foreign current. I used it in Spain last year and it was great. Taking it to Hawaii and camping this year. I would not be without it. I can sleep sitting up without it but I like to lay down when I can.

When it hit my wife, she never got over the pain and her health in general began to decline. I hope you are right that you are about over the worst of it and there will be no residual side effects.

Can you add a 2nd radio to intercom?
Pegasus1300 replied to mantree91's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
I am with southbound on this. Talk to Sierra Electronics and explain what you have and what you want to do and they may have an idea for you. -
I don't have the patience that I used to have so I haven't read every post but here is something I didn't see in the posts I did read. 1)find yourself a good water aerobics class. You'll know it's good because at the end they will have run you ragged. Go two to 3 times a week. 2) go to Amazon and get a set (2) of water weights. They will get you back in your weight lifting form again with little to no strain on your legs. Do this on the days you don't go to aerobics. 3) get a water noodle big enough to support you. Then you can sit on it and be supported and you can really work yourself. Good luck with your weight loss and leg rehab. I am seeing all this about diet pop and would like to read some of the research you all have looked at. I to need to make changes and this is one of the areas.

the doc is right, you can get it more then once and sometimes worse then before.

Shingles is much worse then the chicken pox ever was. The vaccination is still no guarantee that you wont get them but it does make your chances of missing out on that experience much better. Good luck with the residual nerve pain after the rash goes away.

These were used on engines that did not have full pressure oil systems or filters from the factory Old BMW motorcycles had them and they seemed to work well on those back in the day. I see no reason to use one on a modern engine. I thought they went out of business years ago. I haven't seen one of those in forever.

Turntable for 2006 RSV
Pegasus1300 replied to Mad Dog's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have one of those brand new never used. I also bought a 1500 lb ATV/Motorcycle lift( https://www.harborfreight.com/1500-lb-Capacity-ATVMotorcycle-Lift-60536.html?ccdenc=eyJjb2RlIjoiNDc0NjUzMzQiLCJza3UiOiI2MDUzNiIsImlzIjoiNjkuOTkiLCJwcm9kdWN0X2lk%0D%0AIjoiOTM3NyJ9%0D%0A) from them also and the Venture adaptor that one of our members used to make. That set up was great moving the RSTD/RSV around and since it was already parked I didn't have to worry about falling getting off it. I'd sell the turntable but I am afraid that the freight would make it more then a new one at Harbour Freight. -
I have had all three, an 83 an 86 an 87 a 2008 RSTD and a 2008 RSV. I found the RSTD/RSV to be more comfortable, but I was also older when I owned them. I liked all the entertainment system on the RSV. But my favorite bike of all the V4 yamahas I owned was the RSTD. It was comfortable and fast and the handling was closer to the 87VR. It wasn't as top heavy as the RSV. I did try the 130 size tire on both the RSTD and the RSV. It really helped the RSV but then the front end of the Rsv weighs more then the RSTD. I thought it made the RSTD a little light in the front. I loved my RSTD and I thought it was the best bike I ever owned.

This is the story we were told as dealers. Back in the day most Japanese bikes came with Bridgestone tires. One day the Big went to Bridgestone and said you can sell us tires or you can sell motorcycles, but you can't do both anymore. They weren't selling that many bikes but they sure were selling a lot of tires,so guess what the decision was.

I went on the Auction site and they sold it for $4950. I had one I rode for about 3 years and just loved it. Very fast, fairly good brakes for the day and that 6 speed transmission was so nice on the freeway. We bought a 175 factory racer new in 1969 and set it up for the local flat track. even as a 175 it would eat the 250 as long as you kept the revs up. We put 200cc cylinders on it when Bridgestone came out with the 200 and that gave it enough extra torque to really fly out of the corners.

With regards to the Bridgestone 350 did you see what it sold for?
-
They are front ride off stands and were originally designed for BMWs back in the 60's. They were made and sold by Reynolds Accessories, the BMW dealer in Salt Lake city until sometime in the 80's. When the Goldwings got big they began the stands for them and then the Ventures. They are really well made and Reynolds had a terrific reputation back in the day. Had their own machine shop and everything.

What do you guys think of this?
Pegasus1300 replied to Chaharly's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If you send your unit to Sierra Electronics they can put an external port on your unit with a switch that allows you to go back and forth between input and original unit. I had it done to my 1500 SE Goldwing trike radio and it worked just fine. I think it cost about $100.00 plus shipping. [h=3]www.sierra-mc.com[/h] -
What a beautiful bike. If it runs half as good as it looks you got a real steal.

looking for pouch for cassettes
Pegasus1300 replied to labill's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Value Accessories has some that are sort of universal fit. http://www.valueaccessories.net -
So what I see in looking over your Venture is that it is probably a Standard without radios. I do see a manual fill valve up by your ignition switch so that tells me there is no class system,so therefore no Royale.

I wear mine 99.5% of the time. Have for 50+ years. But if I don't want to I don't.
