I am 68 but would still consider Tent camping if I had a good mat underneath me. Then plan on hitting a nice motel every 4 or 5 days. If a stand alone tent and mat on the ground is just too much find a used bunkhouse or similar type motorcycle camper, but just because you have a trailer don't go nuts on the extras you haul. Again I would plan on hitting a motel every few days. You might look up the IBMC http://www.ibmc.com and see what ideas they have on their website.(International Brotherhood of Motorcycle Campers)

Also running a rear motorcycle tire on the front in the correct size. The rear tires usually have a higher load rating and more rubber so they last longer. I run 41lbs in the front and 23 lbs in the rear. Mixing bias and radial on a trike does not seem to make any difference as it does on a car or bike.

Done. Thanks for your efforts

Not at work but working. Cut, split and stacked about 4 cords of wood for the winter. Finished at 2:30 and it started snowing at 3 and hasn't stopped yet.

Why Reverse A Rear Tire When Put On The Front?
Pegasus1300 replied to GlennTuc's topic in The Darksiders
I run a rear on the front of my trike for just that reason, it has more tread and lasts longer. It also has a higher weight rating which I like. The more rubber on the road gives me better steering as well. -
Although anything is possible if you throw enough time and money at it I wouldn't bother. You can't adj it on the fly, only stopped engine off and the ignition switch in acc not run and on the center stand. The class control panel is notorious for cold solder joins that need repair. Lots of extra wires and plumbing. You can adj the shocks with a small air pump from Harley for about $50 and if you put Progressive springs in the front forks you wont need the air assist anyway. Same if you go to the Progressive spring in the rear. If not replaced by now your springs are probably tired anyway and should be replaced.

Anybody want to post what they paid for their used bikes?
Pegasus1300 replied to pbjman's topic in Watering Hole
I bought an 08 RSVS with 500 mi on it in 2011 for $8000.00. People bought it new as their first bike put 500 mi on it, scared them to death and they parked it until they were emotionally distant enough to let it go. Sold it cheap for a fast sale. Totaled it three months later and replaced it with a 1990 Goldwing Trike converted in 2006 with only 36000 mi for $6500. A friend of mine decided to give up riding at 89 because his wife couldn't ride with him anymore and he didn't want to ride alone. That bike now has 73000 mi on it. -
Yes it has snowed here this morning but not much.

Tuning the First Gen AM/FM Radio
Pegasus1300 replied to azxvz1284's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Your only tuning to whole numbers means you are still in AM and as long as you are in AM that's all you will get. The seek button is on the left handlebar control. The switch to go from AM to FM sounds like it is corroded. Go to radio shack amd get a can of electronic tuner cleaner. It wont harm plastic and you can spray it down the switch and work it several times. If that doesn't work then you will have to take the face off the radio and spray directly on the switch and on any other switches that look iffy. It has been too long since I did this but it is easy. Just take the radio out of the fairing and look it over and you should see the screws to take it apart. In the end if that proves too much for you send it to Sierra Electronics. They will fix it for $100 (check with them to be sure) and for another $100 add a cord to plug in an mp3 player. -
The straps you refer to are called "soft ties". and some tie down straps now come with them built in. When I trailer I usually tie the rear down. You are right it probably isn't going anywhere but I have hit a chuck hole or bump a time or two that did move it over a bit, so now I tie down.

I pulled 100% but I was guessing on the Mercurys. I was good to see some of those old cars again. When I was a kid tho they weren't old.

I like the idea of a pre paid Visa or MasterCard as a grand prize. The high end GPS or Tablet would work as well. All of those things are easily mailable for a winner who is not present or who has a lot of travel ahead of them.

I am looking forward for the write up on this mod. Nice job.

What an absolutely gorgeous Royal Star. All the lines just flow so well. I really like your addition of the fairing eyebrows to the side of the trunk. Very nice touch.

Totally bogus. I first ran into in 1999.

Thanks Art I had seen the backrest was crooked but missed the other screws. I already sent them an email and called but it must have been after hours. Perry if you have time I would appreciate it if you could call them and see what the story is on this bike. My number is 801 830 9927. Thanks a lot guys for the quick responses.
