My 87 has that plaque on it with the original owner's name. I am the 3rd owner. I used to subscribe to RR until just before it changed to MCN. I talked to them in early 2000's and Patti Carpenter( one of the founders) was still at the helm but husband Bob had passed away. Roger Hull was with them for a long time as was Cliff Boswell who was their camping editor. He founded International Brotherhood of Motorcycle Campers, which is still going. Back in the day if you wanted information and stories on real motorcycle travel them and Rider were the only places to go -

So given that this thread is a year and a half old Don what if anything did you decide to do or is it all still pending? Inquiring minds want to know. Pictures too if possible.

Actually since Jeff gave a far more complete answer I will defer to him,tho I may still get some Ice Cream anyway. I see the stores here have my favorite kind in for the holidays, candy cane.

Motortrike Voyager 1300 conversion
Pegasus1300 replied to tucson_sailors's topic in Trike & Sidecar Talk
Since yours is a Royale there will be no schrader valve for the front fork,it will be connected directly thru the CLASS system. That system only works when the ignition key is in the acc position. Also you would normaly put it on the center stand but that is moot now. As to the CLASS it may have been disabled during the change over or it may just not work due to age. They are notorious for having cold solder joints that fail over time. Solder gun and a magnifying glass will fix this. You will have to trace out the lines, your schrader valves may go only to the shocks. The front fork has a maximum of 8 lbs anything more will blow the seals. Your fork springs are probably toast by this time so look into a set of Progressives . -
OK so I am not as bright as your class, but after 12 hours mulling over this, the only thing I can see is that if you spell the numbers out they are in alphabetical order.

When I had my motorcycle shop back in the early 70's the 2 largest selling motorcycles in the US were new Honda 350 twins and used Honda 350 twins. Although I have owned many bikes over the years I had never owned a Honda.until I bought my 1500 trike. It is so well engineered it is incredible. This bike is 25 years old and still runs like a top. I loved all my Yamaha V4's, I don't love the Goldwing but it is such a great motorcycle it is easy to see why it has driven almost everyone else out of the luxury touring field. I wonder how long it will take them to get to 400,000,000?

+++ on the maintenance at the end of the year. Not to brag (well yes ok I am) in 50 years of riding including early years on Norton Triumph and BSA, I have never had a motorcycle leave me stranded on the side of the road but I have gotten more then one rider going again. It's all in the maintenance and I don't consider myself a very good mechanic at least as compared to some of the great wrenches we have on this site.

Yes I have eaten there several times if we are talking about the one in Cedar City UT. Good people and great food, but a long way from Area 51 tho maybe the road going West out of town goes by there. We were in Cedar in Sept. for the TrikeTalk.Com Western Rally. Just a little South on I15 is Kolob Canyon, which gives you a different view of Zion's and then the turn off for Zion's is a little further South of that.

A friend of mine has a Contour that he uses on his bike. It is similar to the Go Pro but has some different features and is already waterproofed. I really liked it when we rode together the other day. http://www.contour.com http://www.amazon.com/cameras

Pegasus1300 replied to bonedizzle's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
If you are going to do mp3 there is no reason to go through the trouble of putting in a whole audio system(radio, speakers etc. Just load up your favorite songs on your mp3,find a comfortable set of earbuds and enjoy. If you want to beable to charge your unit then there are plenty of power ports out there that will take a usb cord. As Prairiehammer said use the accessory terminal at the top of the fuse box under the fake tank cover. -
OK it looks like you have 2 helmet cables. There is only one cable that goes from the to the control unit. The the helmet cable plugs into the unit and your helmet speakers. If you look on the trunk on the left side you will see a niche that the control unit plugs into. When I am not going to be using it for a long time I just put it in the trunk cables and all.

I was a member for years and really enjoyed the association. At that time their headquarters were here in Utah. I quit camping for a long time and sold all my stuff so I let the membership go. Now I find myself getting interested again so may re up
