I'm absolutely serious about it. If you have done all that you can through your dealer and Yamaha then it's either that, live with it, or sell the bike. I strongly believe that manufacturers should stand behind their products and be accountable. Some states include motorcycles and some don't. In the ones that do, there are usually Lemon Law Attorneys who will represent you for no money up front. They WILL take their cut out of any settlement though.

Whats The Best Oil?

I use the motorcycle specific MX4T...I think they call it MX4 Racing oil now or something like that. I think it's 15/40.- 25 replies

I think it's a crock. Some are MUCH louder than others and I don't think that Yamaha has stopped replacing them. If mine was that loud and they took that stance, I would sue them under the lemon law....no doubt about it.

I agree about the tests that show Amsoil is best. I DO think it is good oil but do not think it is any better than Mobil One and the truly independent tests that I've seen confirm my opinion. I'll stick with my Mobil One thank you.- 25 replies

I've seen a few in dealerships here in Ohio. If anybody is interested in coming here to buy one, I will be happy to check who has them.

I have the tall shield and have ridden in some heavy rain. It can be a problem. It is worse when my glasses get fogged up along with the wet shield. I can sit higher in the seat and see over it if I have to though. As for the vents that people are talking about, I actually have the Goldwing vent in mine but later installed two of the round vents. I actually like the round ones better. I think the next time I need a shield I will order it with no vent and just go with the round ones.

You left out the Michelins. Several of us here are running the Michelin Commanders. I would put them right at the top of the list. Depending on who you talk to, probably number one or number two on the list.- 25 replies

I agree. I also see that they are NOT all using the same images. This Virtual Earth is the first one I've seen that shows my house. Google Earth still shows a vacant field. On the other hand, Google Earth does show my previous house in Dallas but Virtual Earth doesn't. The image that Google shows for the Dallas house is not nearly as good as this one though. OK...I stand corrected. I just looked again. They both show pretty much the same image of the house in Dallas but Google still doesn't show the house in Ohio.

Yea...the good thing is that most of that stuff goes straight to the bottom of the pond. Keeps it looking nice.

It is GREAT. Anybody who owns an RSV or RSTD should own one.

The last time I tried Google, it showed a vacant field where my house is. I don't know if they have updated their maps or now. I just tried Live Earth though and it is showing pictures within the last couple of years. Here is the one of my place. Luckily it was taken while those pond monsters were present. My Place

Just to add my condolences also. Very sorry to hear this and hope that the recovery goes well. This happens way too often and it's especially bad when it's one of our own. Let us know if there is anything we can do for you.

That is a new one for me. I've never heard of any problems with the cooling system.

They both look good. Haven't decided which one I like best yet. I like the background of the square one but sort of like the round shape.

In my previous years, I spent about 20 years working as an electrician. I've used and owned a number of meters over the years. A very good analog meter was the old Simpson...260 I think was the model. Used one of those for many years when working for a power company. I now own a Fluke and another one that came from Sears. Both are digital and neither were really cheap. The Fluke was the most expensive but I've owned it now for over 15 years and it's a great meter. You will pay a premium price though. Probably more than is needed for occasional use. You can pick up a good digital meter from Radio Shack, Sears, etc. for well under $100.00. Actually probably in the $50.00 range.

Well, based upon the responses received, I think we'll just stick with what we have. Thanks for the input.

Amazing...the Al Gore crowd pushes this stuff before the research is really done. How many states are REQUIRING are promoting this mess? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,297681,00.html I just found it to be interesting. PLEASE don't turn it into a political debate.

I'm afraid that I can't be much help. I bought a Harbor Freight changer about 3 years ago and have yet to use it. I WILL one of these days but every time I've been ready for a tire, I've been in to big of a hurry to mess with it. From what I've read, the main thing is to be very careful putting the tire on. It is easy to scratch or ding the rim if you aren't very careful.
