  1. If you are looking for a hard copy, I don't have one. You can download a .pdf version though. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3384
  2. Yes they did. I don't know if it is still available or not. Yes, it was for the first gen but there are a lot of things that do cross over. I never owned that one but heard that it had some GREAT info in it.
  3. I've looked at this a little bit today. I see that it actually does show the sellers city already. That doesn't help a lot though because the city could be anywhere. For now, I've added fields so that when an add is placed, the seller can add their city and state or province, etc. That will not help with the ads already placed but should help with any future ads. In the meantime, I'll look closer over the next couple of days to see if I can pull that info from the forum profile page so that it is inserted automatically.
  4. Well...it's not that I think that I'm the only one who can do it...I also don't think that I am necessarily the best choice. My writing skills may not be up to the task. I'm just saying that if nobody else wants to take it on, I may do so. I have actually even thought about writing such a book and actually having it bound in some manner to be sold wherever, Ebay, etc.
  5. I'll take a look tomorrow night and see if I can come up with something.
  6. Heck....doesn't matter now...the bulk of it is done. Actually, I've had three orders since posting this. They are on the counter addressed and ready to go on Monday. Won't be a big deal now. Today, I was in the post office for almost exactly one hour getting all the packages weighed and shipped. I never even turned around to look at the faces of the people behind me. I KNOW the had to be very irritated. Luckily, they had two lines open. The receipt was right at 8 ft. long.

    Need Advice.

I would just tell him that you are willing to meet with anybody that he chooses to take a look at it. Tell him that he can join here to see that you are a part of this group and have MANY here that can testify for you.
  8. Just returned from the post office. All bells are now in the hands of the United States Postal Service. They were sent first class so you should start seeing them within two or three business days. Some will take longer of course, depending upon where you live. Oh....did I mention how much I HATE filling out customs forms.
  9. SOLD OUT: These are a custom designed bell made exclusively for our club. Many have been sold already but I ordered extras so that I have some available for anybody who missed the original order or for new members who would like to have them. Price is $15.00 per bell and that includes shipping within the USA or $19.00 per bell to Canada. Payable via PayPal to dnelson@venturerider.org For those of you who may not know anything about Guardian Bells, here is the story. Legend has it that Evil Road Spirits have been latching themselves on to motorcycles for as long as there have been bikes on the road. These Evil Road Spirits are responsible for mechanical problems and bad luck along a journey. Legend goes on to say that by attaching a small bell onto your bike, the Evil Road Spirits will become trapped inside the bell where the constant ringing drives them insane, making them lose their grip until they fall to the ground. (Ever wonder where potholes come from?) Legend also has it that the mystery of the Guardian™ Bell carries twice as much power when it is purchased by a friend or loved one and given as a gift. Show someone how much you care. Offer them defense against the Evil Road Spirits! Give a Guardian™ Bell and share the Legend of Good Luck it offers to a motorcycle and its rider!
  10. Just an update. The bells have arrived. I spent most of last night putting them in the little bags and then getting them packaged and addressed to go out. I am on my way to the post office just as soon as I finish posting this. I am pleased with them and hope that all of you are also.
  11. This is an excellent idea and one that I have been kicking around for about a year or so. I've never written a book before and don't know if I have what it takes but is something that I will give some serious thought to.
  12. Heck...I'm not sure that I could still do that many.
  13. I'm off base COMPLETELY huh. Heck...I made what could easily turn into a political statement and then screwed up with the brand. You are right of course. Didn't know they were gone though. I mean, I know they are no longer in Ohio but I see Citgo in other states I travel. That's OK....the way I'm screwing things up today....they may be calling themselves Ameribrazillions and I wouldn't know. I think I'm going to go to bed now.
  14. REALLY? Where does that info come from? I've never seen it or heard it anywhere. I've been to Brazil a couple of times on business but haven't spent a lot of time there. Everything I've ever seen though referred to them as Brazilians.

    BMW's

Yea...come on folks...let's not lump all BMW riders into that group. I rode a lot with the Dallas, TX chapter of the MTA. We had two BMW riders in the group and they were as fine as anybody you could ever hope to meet. There are always a few in any group.
  16. OK....you caught me.... sorry about that.
  17. Hey Carl....make sure you drag him down to my house for maintenance day.
  18. Leather with Lycra. They say that it is more abrasion resistant than conventional leather and yet stretches and holds its shape as well as being water resistant. Will be interesting to see what comes of it.
  19. I'm in yet another hotel as I type this. I have also come down with a bad cold. Wonder why?
  20. Nope, I don't recall you posting anything that this would apply to. I was actually not singling out anybody in particular. Just sort of a general statement that just seems to be needed every year or so. Please, nobody take it personal. Unless you are GUILTY.
  21. Orrin, I think your post was from the heart and you said it well. Now, I don't agree with every single thing that you said but guess what, that's OK. It doesn't make you wrong and me right or vice versa. It does show that you are a good person with a good heart. I'm not going to get into what parts I agree with and those that I don't, that would turn this into a debate. I'm glad that you are one of us and hope to meet you some day.
  22. Kit, You have it pretty much right. It takes some effort on both sides. I'm not saying that we should entirely abandon any attempts to be politically correct. I'm just saying that it has become WAY too big a deal. It seems that in todays world, you can't say much of anything without making somebody mad. So, I'm simply saying: 1. We should all make our best attempt at trying to NOT be offensive. 2. If somebody does post something that you find offense in, please try to not over react about it. Just move on and realize that it is not usually done with the intent of hurting or offending. Sometimes it's just poor judgment, not thinking something through, differences in backgrounds. Things that society needs to continue working on but not things that we have to try and solve here.
  23. As for the original question about what parts there should be. If I remember correctly, there is only the hitch, bolts and some spacers. At the upper bolts behind the chrome fender strut trim, there is a spacer. It has to be removed so that the arms will fit there. The hitch comes with two thinner spacers to replace it. One will go on each side of the hitch arm. You should have the hitch, bolts and 4 spacers. If they are missing, they would be easy to make.
  24. Hey..no problem. I THINK I've got it set now so that posts in that area do not show up on the home page under Active Discussions NOR in the "New Posts" or "Today's Posts". Hopefully this will help end any confusion. It wasn't just you. I've had several people ask. So you see, you are NOT so special after all.
  25. Are you guys SURE? He is asking about a Hitch Doc, not the Khromewerks. They may have changed now but the Hitch Docs used to be a lot more complicated than that. They had long arms that extended all the way up behind the chrome fender struts. Really a pain to install but a very strong hitch.
