  1. I understand that there is some skiing close by but we don't ski so I really don't know. It's hilly.....not flat but not mountains either.
  2. That is hight though. I don't use our local Yamaha shop but the Honda shop will mount my tires for $20.00 each if I take the wheels in. If I were to buy the tire there, mounting and balancing is free.
  3. Heck Brad....a little Plastex, some wax, duct tape..... OK...it's a mess. Glad you and Lonna are OK.
  4. I agree....congrats to both of you. Sounds like she may be getting an opportunity to go to college early. That will probably be a tough decision for you. At least it would be for me. My son is 16 and has the opportunity to graduate early and I honestly don't think I want him too. It may be great for some folks but not for everybody. I think I would rather him stay home, stay in high school and continue maturing before going off to college. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be the right decision for your personal situation and wish you and her the very best.
  5. My wife would trade our house for that one in a heartbeat if she could do it without moving. She loves Victorian and we had a reproduction Victorian when we lived in Texas. It was our favorite house. What she misses most is the upstairs porch/balcony on the back of the house. That's where we usually had our morning coffee.
  6. All the sleds are owned by the company and free to use while we are there. They are actually in pretty nice shape. They have several of the little sno scoots for the kids and about 8 Polaris 340s for the adults. They have miles of trails on the company property. I show very few of them in the pictures. There are also a lot of public trails nearby as well as the lake. We aren't allowed to take the company sleds off company property however. You can take your own if you have them. I don't though, sold ours a couple of years ago.
  7. Heck Buddy...you CAN post and get responses HERE. That's why I copied it to here.
  8. Thanks MUCH for getting the info for us. Much easier for me than sending by snailmail.
  9. I also posted this in the tech library but decided to copy it here since BuddyRich posted a question to it...OBVIOUSLY not realizing that as a moderator...he can post there but nobody can answer him.
  10. Here are some pictures from Cougar of the new Polk speakers that he installed on the rear of his RSV. He confirms that they will fit but that you have to remove the black ring that came on the stock speakers.

  12. I've disable this for now. I am going to try and find a way to move the text and etc. to the other side so that it doesn't make the postbit headers so large. If I can do it, I will enable it again.
  13. No, we went through that area on the way but the resort is further north.
  14. I see that you figured it out. For anybody else, there is a button at the bottom of every post...beside the "quote" button and etc. If you see a post that is especially helpful for you in any way or that you just truly enjoy, you can simply hit the "Thanks" button to thank the poster for taking the time to help. At the bottom of the thread will be a box that shows the "thanks" that you have received.
  15. I think that I may well have been the first Venture owner to ever install the KuryAkyn pegs on a RSV. It was way back in mid 1999. At that time, KuryAkyn had nothing for the RSV and told me that they didn't know if any of their pegs would work or not. I ran across those at a small independent motorcycle shop and they were actually for a Goldwing. I bought them and have had them on the bike ever since. I actually think that the regular clamps work just as well and maybe even better. I see no reason to use the type that I have. They are more expensive and I had to wrap a bit of tape around the bars to make them tighten up properly.
  16. See the following thread. Now that I see it though, I don't know if I like it. It's making our headers too big...taking up too much room. I may ... probably will....remove it unless it is really popular with the members. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=22
  17. OK...I found what I THINK you were talking about and added it. We will see if it works out.
  18. I think that most of us here do use the Kuryakyn pegs but the ones that mount to the crash bars. There is a picture of mine in this thread. Most use the same pegs but with the quickclamp mounts. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=4044&highlight=4050
  19. Sorry about the slow reply but I see that you found it.
  20. shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......she might hear:whistling: you.
  21. Do hope you can make it. Always a great time.
  22. Hey....it's not about the numbers...but it is fun to watch. Besides, the higher the number, the more chance of us making some very good new friends.
  23. Yep...this group is always willing to help a fellow or lady member. I got burned one time and it wasn't here...it wasn't even a Venture specific forum. A guy wanted to buy a stock passenger seat from an RSV. I had one and told him he could have it for the cost of shipping. He was excited and said you bet. I sent it to him and then emailed him the cost of shipping...wasn't much...and never heard from him again. You know what though, I really didn't even get mad about it. I just figured if he needed it that bad and was that broke, I was still happy to help him out. I won't let a single incident like that sour my opinion of all the great folks that we have around here.
  24. I'M LUCKY????? But but but....what about HER????? ok...I admit it...yes...I KNOW I am a lucky guy. She is a wonderful lady also.
  25. Eileen is a great photographer but she uses a 35mm camera and we haven't got the film developed yet. Here are a few pics that our son Dylan took with his little digital camera though. As you can see, Eileen and I found the fireplace at the lodge to be a great place to hang out. The first picture is of Round Lake shot through the screened window of our cabin.
