Eileen and I use the Nolan N41 Classics. We really like them. They have flip up shields. Mine is in the up position almost 100% of the time but she likes hers down. We both wear glasses with them and they work great. This link has some details and pictures. I'm using it to show the models, I've never bought from this company and know nothing about them. http://www.extremesupply.com/nolanhelmets/n41classic.htm

I would like to find just a noise reducing microphone that clamps to the helmet with a jack for earbud speakers and a lower cord that plugs it all into the bikes system.

I had problems with the '88 Venture. If you removed your hands from the grips even for a second, it would go into a wobble. I repacked and adjust the head bearings and it helped but did not correct it. I never did get rid of it completely. Have never had a problem with the '99. When I was MUCH younger and VERY MUCH dumber, I had a friend with a new Kawasaki Ninja. He told me that it was supposed to run about 165 MPH but he would never know. I volunteered to find out for him. I took it down a rural part of I30 in Texas and put it to the test. At somewhere between 155 and 160 MPH, it developed a shake or wobble. I found that as long as I tried to hold it at a steady speed that it would go away but every time I tried to slow down in any manner, it would get increasingly worse. I figured I was in somewhat of a bind because sooner or later, I was going to have to somehow stop. After tried several different things, I finally just gritted my teeth and let off the throttle. It got very bad and it was all I could do to hold on when suddenly around 140 MPH or so...it started smoothing out again. Scared the crap out of me. When I finally did get stopped, I just pulled over onto the shoulder and smoked a few cigarettes. I know I was very lucky.

I agree that torsion axles are the way to go on these small home made trailers. Bob Dakin has one that he built using a Sears cartop carrier and he did use the torsion axles. Turned out very nice. Also gives a much quieter ride.

WOW...figured that somebody would have them. I tell you what, I have one on my '99. I like it a LOT but will sell it to you. How about ONE MILLION DOLLARS?????? Hey...I DID say that I like it a LOT.

I've been to Canada many times. Sometimes by motorcycle, by car and by plane. I've never had them do anything more than look at my drivers license and then in later years, my passport and wave me on through. Never had them stop me long enough to run my info for a criminal record. I know that it has happened but I think the chances are very slim. I know that a few years ago when I was with the MTA, we had a rally in High River and had one member turned back at the border. Don't know the details but he did have something in his past and they happened to check his record.

Yea...but with our luck...he probably bred before this happened.

Flander Bar and Throttle Cable Box

Yep, that should be it. Thanks for the post. -
Lowell sent me this picture of a "Texas deer stand" so I figure it must be his or Redneck's. Sure beats the frozen tree limbs I used to sit on for hours at a time.

Got this by email. Have no idea about how valid it may be but was kind of fun to watch. The footage first shows ground crew from America, Spain, Germany, Italy and Holland conventionally directing aircraft. As the music changes to YMCA, the 21-year-old Brit makes his impressive entrance. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leacw8H8Lrk]YouTube - How to marshall a Jet full version[/ame] The video was made by RAF staff and has raised over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK. Mark Coote, director of community fundraising at Cancer Research UK, said: "By raising much valued funds for Cancer Research UK, Dean also appears to have raised many a smile from the cockpit of the RAF jet fighters he helps take off and land. We salute him for his imaginative fundraising dance moves and for his efforts in helping us in our bid to beat cancer."

Flander Bar and Throttle Cable Box

For the life of me I can't find the part number that I used. Flanders did come out with a metric version though and the knurls did line up on mine. Also, the rubber dampers do work with the Flanders bars. -
I agree....you can drill them out without hurting anything but they really sound pathetic. You will be much better off keeping them stock and buying a set of Road King or other mufflers for it.

I don't carry but I believe in a persons right to do so if they have the proper training and etc. I have done a LOT of shooting in my life. I used to shoot hundreds of rounds per week including pistol and rifle. I love shooting but just haven't done it in a few years. I used to have a Rock Chucker reloader and loaded all my own ammo. It was a lot of fun. In my business travels, I get into some neighborhoods that I sometimes think that I should probably have a gun with me but have never had any problems yet. Of course, when I do it will be too late but I'll just continue and hope it doesn't happen. If I DID carry, I would never attempt to cross the border with a firearm. Our neighbors may not agree with our laws but we don't have to agree with their's either. I know that we all share a pride in our countries and as much as I don't feel that any other country has the right to tell us what our laws should be, I also feel that we don't have the right to tell you what yours should be either.

Thanks to all of YOU. The bells are doing better than I expected and the donations have come in pretty fair. Thanks so much for each and every one of you. We aren't even close to the total amount that they need but I know that whatever we do will help a lot.

I watched both games. I really don't have a lot of interest since my favorite team is out of it but I still enjoyed the games. I was surprised with both games. I think that San Diego played a good game. They gave New England a much harder fight than I expected to see. As for the Packers and Giants, I thought the Packers would win that one so the Giants surprised me also. Like I said, I had no real preference but thought that all teams played very well. I thought that New England had the Superbowl all sewn up. They are still the favorites in my opinion but I think the Giants may give them a good fight. Anything can happen.

I have the OEM Yamaha passing lamps and on the rear, the Harley tail light/license plate bracket assembly. I'm also running the Pilot LED under the trunk. I've been running this way for about 7 years with no problems. Passing lamps are usually on all the time.

Well....I have to admit that I HAVE considered that. The only problem is, I would have to move without Eileen and that's a problem. You see...I'm getting old and she's still HOT!!!! I would probably end up as a bachelor or married to some old mean and ugly woman. Now, if you know any good looking women looking for an ugly old man.....I may give it some more thought. OH.....it would also be nice if she just happened to be rich.

We could fix that. WOW EDDIE...that's a GREAT offer. What a GREAT donation. When will you be here?

Hey folks...I CAN get her car in the garage. It was in the garage when I left and I parked it in the garage when I got home. The garage is not heated though. I'm sure it will thaw out some day.

Had to go to the store this morning and decided to drive the wife's SUV. It was pretty dirty so I decided to run it through the automatic car wash. Should have been OK but the dryers were apparently not working very well so by the time I got home, I had a heck of a time getting out of the car. 4 degrees F right now and it sure doesn't take long for the doors on a car to freeze shut.
