  1. hmmmm....are you talking about the link at the bottom of the listings that says "view all 680 items on Ebay". If so, I just tried it and it seemed to work just fine.
  2. Just give yourself a HUGE pat on the back. You see, it's the MEMBERS that make this site what it is. You ARE a member so thank YOU for being a part of it.
  3. Take a look at this thread and see if it helps. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=502
  4. OK...I'm sorry that this took so long but I finally got it done. There is now a link there.
  5. Yes, absolutely. See this thread for a short overview. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=69
  6. Geeezzzz......I wish I knew of SOME way that you could both get the last word. In the meantime, you are really both wrong. I DID create the video folder for people to post videos. It's not a big deal that they get posted in other areas from time to time but why NOT just post them in the video topic area. On the other hand, it does NOT take any longer to open a thread with a video than it does any other thread. It is actually just a link to the video and doesn't even start playing and loading until you hit the start or play button. So....all that being said, I'm going to move this thread to the video folder and HOPE that any further spats can be taken to email or PM. No reason for it to continue.
  7. Mark, This is a very common problem and one that they should be aware of. See this thread to get you started. Print it out and take it to them. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1705
  8. Done...threads have been merged.
  9. Great job. I also copied it to the tech library.
  10. A really good carb sync has also been known to stop the popping. That is the easiest thing to start with.
  11. You are not stepping on my toes and it may be a totally different situation on a first gen as opposed to my RSV. Also, I bought the Travelcade for my RSV from another member so it was not made specifically for me. What I didn't like though was that the fit to the bike was very poor. There was about a 3/4-1" gap between the front of the seat and the gas tank. All my attempts to contact Travelcade via email or telephone were ignored. I never got an email response and never got a return telephone call. I was more than willing to pay to have it reworked or whatever but just found them impossible to deal with. Now my good friend Rick Butler always used the Travelcades on his first gen Ventures and may still have one on his RSV and he thought they were great.
  12. I know that on the second gen, the travelcade seemed to push me even further forward. It's been a long time since I've owned a first gen but I seem to remember it doing the same thing. The only seat that I've found that moves me back is the Corbin.
  13. Actually, Ethanol is NOT cheap to make. Most experts now realize that it is actually costing more to make Ethanol than is saved in gas. By the time you figure in the fuel used by farm equipment to grow the corn, fuel used to transport the corn to the plant, fuel to RUN the plant, fuel to transport the ethanol to the refineries to blend it with gas...the fact is, they say it takes about a gallon of gas to produce .9 gallons of ethanol. Then add to that the fact that most people see about a 10% reduction in fuel economy when burning ethanol. The only reason it's even produced, money wise, is because of government subsidies. ALSO...because of ethanol...the price of many other things are going up. Milk, wheat, etc. It was just announced that for the first time in USA history, we will have to import wheat. WHY? Because many farmers have stopped raising wheat in order to raise corn for ethanol and get the government subsidies. Yep.....ethanol is a real bargain.
  14. That article was written several years ago, long before VentureRider.org existed. I remember it was pretty cools that the mentioned the link. Back then, they were the largest Venture site.
  15. Yes, I've known a number of people who own the Neosho trailers and they are a good trailer and affordable.
  16. You basically have two choices. Many of us have installed the Flanders G2 bars. Do a search here for "Flanders" and you'll find a lot of info about then. You can also go with risers from Baron's. With either one, longer brake and throttle cables are recommended but some have done the installs without them. Stainless Steel brake lines are a great addition anyway though.
  17. Yep....you got the best color combination ever offered on a first gen. Of course, that's just MY opinion.
  18. To post a picture, just type whatever message here that you want to...before hitting the submit button, scroll down a bit and you will see "manage attachments". Click on that and a window will open up where you can browse for and upload your pictures. They need to be no larger than 640 x 480 and under 200,000 bytes.
  19. They actually may have that problem resolved. I got a call from my contact at Verizon Corporate yesterday. They are supposed to be overnighting me a new Venus with an 8 GIG chip to test for them. I haven't seen it yet today and due to the weather, it may not get here today as it was supposed to.
  20. This would be great for oil changes and etc. if you don't have nor want a center stand. I actually have one of these on my trailer. Mine is a home made one but works great. I have it out of the trailer right now and plan to try it in the garage. No reason it won't work the same as this one. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-wheel-chock/steady-stand/
  21. Have you checked the output level on the XM as I suggested above?
  22. You can go to the first gen tech library section. The first two articles there are on how to test it. It is a read only area so you will have to come back here to ask any questions. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=68
  23. Have you tried increasing the output level on the XM unit? I find that I had to do that when I moved the unit from the bike to my work car. I use the aux input on the bike but used the cassette adapter on my work car. I always had to change it when I moved it back and forth. You set the output level on the XM through the menu settings.
  24. I MUCH prefer the torsion suspensions. Smoother and quieter. I even have it on my 5 x 10 trailer.
  25. It would hold about 7 mini-muffins or one E-Fishin.
