  1. No problem....not completely naked but topless.
  2. hmmmmm.....sorry...I was replying to the post right above my response.
  3. Splitting the fairing is about the hardest part and that's pretty simple. Did you see the PDF file posted a couple of posts above yours? Those are pretty good instructions from Yamaha. I don't think anybody has done a step by step pictorial. Sorry.
  4. Probably best to just work your way back. There is a connector under the seat on the left side that goes to the rear for all the lights. I would start there. Unplug it and use a meter to confirm that have power at that point. Then at the rear, you will find plug in connectors behind the license plate. That would be the next place to check. See if you have power there.
  5. There have been some good tag lines submitted here. I have to order these in quantities to get the best price and I can't mix different styles. So.....we need to decide what you want them to say and then how many long sleeve, short sleeve and etc. Also, there are several choices as to brand and weight. I've been looking at Hanes tagless tees. 6.1 ounce. Any of you have a favorite brand and etc. that you wish to suggest?
  6. OK folks.....here is the design now. It just says VentureRider.Org on the front pocket. Didn't have the option to make the 4 smaller at this time.
  7. I think you just answered the question. The Bridgestones can be VERY noisy. At the end of last summer, I had just about worn out my Michelin on the rear. Another member here had a Bridgestone with only a couple of thousand miles on it that he gave to me. Actually, it was the wheel that I wanted, he has converted to a trike, and the wheel happened to have the Bridgestone on it. I truly do HATE that tire. The noise drives me crazy. It will be coming off before riding weather.
  8. Really sorry to hear the news. While the most important thing is that you are here to tell about it, I do understand the loss you feel about the bike. Hopefully we can help you come up with the parts to put it back together...or help you find a new one. The important thing now is to take it easy and let yourself heal properly.
  9. I think that most are "stud" mounted. There would be a nut on the bottom of the mount that you would just loosen. That's the way that mine and most that I've seen are.
  10. Yes, I've got to get some new small patches ordered. Been out for a while. I'll get on that soon.
  11. Yes, the play on words with the old double mint gum commercials was intentional. I thought it was fun. Yea, I knew it was a Royal Star engine but I liked the 4 pipes that make it obvious that it's a V4. Nobody will care about the carbs. I'm thinking of other text for other shirts too. V4, TWICE AS NICE is one that comes to mind.
  12. That would be my first thought also. Some brands REALLY whine when you get them off dead center. Bridgestone is very bad about it and even my Michelins do it a bit.
  13. I understand about the text on the front. Maybe just VentureRider.Org Here is a better picture of the picture on the back.
  14. I understand but if I have shirts made, they ARE going to have our club name on them.
  15. There can be any kind of sleeves you want. It is purely an idea right now. I am working on other designs also.
  16. Folks...I'm working on some shirt designs just for fun. These pictures aren't very good but what do you think of the general concept?
  17. With what you listed, I am sure you will be just fine. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
  18. I've pulled a trailer behind my '99 since '99. Sometimes loaded WAY heavier than it should be. It has never caused a problem with the shock or anything else.
  19. I've pretty much got to agree with the others. 15,000 out of a rear tire on a motorcycle is darn good. I have never pushed one that far.
  20. Well...if that's the case...I'm turning off the aerators and hoping for a winter kill.
  21. LOL...this would be fun. You would end up with a oil stained empty crate.
  22. By the way...I also have a motor out of the '83 that I parted out. It is complete. I never heard it run so don't know much of anything about it.
  23. No problem. I can also crate and ship it if you end up needing me to. Whatever you decide, I'll do whatever needs to be done.
  24. Don't know what year this is but it's only about 20 minutes from my house so if any of you buy it and need me to pick it up and store it for you, that would be no problem. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Venture-1300-engine-take-out-vmax-nice-cond_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35595QQihZ014QQitemZ330211706797QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  25. You guys are talking about the Pilot light bar. I was wondering about the Diamond R bar. For the Pilot bar, I just used spring type "bar clips" that I got at Home Depot. They just snap onto the chrome rail under the trunk. Been holding mine on for 9 years.
